The musicians of the Music Therapy Department of LUCA School of Arts accompany this tailor-made short film compilation live. Three special Flemish short films are joined by the short film Next Floor by none other than Denis Villeneuve, the director who recently made visitors rush to movie theaters to see Dune. Each and every one of these visually strong films becomes even more striking with live music.

De muzikanten van de afdeling Muziektherapie van LUCA School of Arts begeleiden live een op maat gemaakt kortfilmcompilatie. Drie bijzondere Vlaamse kortfilms worden aangevuld met de kortfilm Next Floor van niemand minder dan Denis Villeneuve, de regisseur die de laatste maanden de cinemazalen deed vollopen met de topfilm Dune. Stuk voor stuk visueel sterke films die nog straffer uit de hoek komen door de live begeleiding.

Bos

Steffen Geypens • Belgium • 2019 • 9 min. The forest is suspiciously quiet. The wind rustles through the ferns, the sunlight bounces off the moist forest floor, there is not an animal in sight. Where is the hidden lake? The only thing disturbing the peace is the panting of two jogging teenagers. When they reach an open space, there is quite a bit of tension.

Het bos ligt er verdacht stil bij. De wind ritselt zachtjes door de bladeren, de zon reflecteert op de vochtige bodem, er is geen enkel dier te bespeuren. Maar waar is toch dat verdoken meer? Het enige wat de rust verstoort, is het gehijg van twee joggende tieners. Ze bereiken een open plek, de spanning is te snijden.

Meltse Van Coillie • Belgium • 2020 • 14 min. In the middle of summer, a six-year-old boy disappears on a campsite. We see the events unfold through the eyes of little Lucie and her older brother Jeroom. They both deal with the terrible news in their own way.

Een camping in volle zomer wordt opgeschrikt door de plotse verdwijning van een jongen van zes. De kleine Lucie en haar oudere broer Jeroom zijn ook op de camping en gaan op hun eigen manier om met het verontrustende nieuws.

Rose groeit op in het park, met slakken als vriendjes. Het is hun park, met gekende parkbewoners en eigen gewoontes. Maar op een dag zijn er indringers die haar wereld bedreigen. Of is het andersom?

During an opulent banquet eleven pampered guests participate in what appears to be ritualistic culinary carnage. An unexpected sequence of events destabilises the endless symphony of abundance.

Tijdens een weelderig banket nemen elf verwende gasten deel aan wat lijkt op een culinair ritueel bloedbad. Een onverwachte opeenvolging van gebeurtenissen brengt de eindeloze symfonie van overdaad in het gedrang.
