Parade of stars The stars of each era are different. There are people, institutions and brands that became stars according to the conditions of the time. Some become stars in performance, some in production, innovation, some in exports. During this period, my stars are fairs.

Fairs that are not canceled anymore and are not rescheduled to future dates, but physically held on the announced dates... Here they are my stars. In this sense, CNR Food Istanbul and WorldFood Istanbul, which are preparing to open their doors as early as November, are our events that deserve applause.

Our applause will be for the ISM Cologne fair at the end of January. Although the ISM fair will arrive two months later than Istanbul fairs, it is certain that it will be more crowded and more international.

We hope that November, when the disease reaches its highest point in Germany, will be the peak and going down starts fast, and we hope that we can go smoothly and be together with the supply and demand coming to Cologne from all over the world. We hope that the effect of the disease will weaken all over the world, and those who will come from everywhere will flow to Cologne without any problems… Our biggest wish is that 2021 will be full of much happier memories and successes.

Gerald Böse, President and Chief Executive Officer of Koelnmesse: “The timing of the Frankfurt decision is surprising, especially with the trade fair market now coming back to life in Germany, too. But every trade fair location has to face the effects of the pandemic in its own way and take decisions of its own based on the particulars of its own portfolio.

Naturally, we here in Cologne will continue to pursue our plans to begin organising fairs on our trade fair grounds in the near future. These plans have been discussed and coordinated extensively with our exhibitors and visitors.

The sectors want to start taking part in trade fairs again – always subject to the premise of safety and, of course, approvals by the authorities.”

Oliver Frese, Executive Board Member and Chief Operating Officer of Koelnmesse: “Here in North Rhine-Westphalia, as our colleagues in Düsseldorf in particular have shown in the case of Caravan Salon, trade fair operations can now resume, subject to certain conditions. This is how we will proceed for each individual event, guided by the needs of each of the sectors involved. We do not expect a return to the international dimensions of previous events right at the beginning of the new year. Participation will become much more focussed: the art fairs in November will revolve more around the German market; the emphasis at imm cologne in January, for instance, will be heavily directed towards Europe. But the trade fairs are going to take place.

We will meticulously prepare them in close consultation with our exhibitors and partners. We know what our customers need in the key fields of expertise of our trade fairs, and we will benefit from the experience of gamescom and DMEXCO @home – which were held in purely digital form for the first time – to enrich the other trade fairs in our portfolio with additional digital reach at a global level. We remain confident and look forward to our trade fairs in Cologne!”

In addition to fresh fruits and vegetables, the company aims to familiarize the UK with fig and strawberry consumption through Uçak Kardeşler. Uçak Kardeşler General Coordinator Musa Alper Uçak made evaluations about their activities for the UK market, predictions for the new season and how they continue to work in their companies despite Covid-19.

Will you introduce Uçak Kardeşler, one of Turkey’s fresh fruit and vegetable export leaders exporting to numerous countries, to those who will be familiar with your company for the first time by detailing your product range, operations and export activities?

We started our business life in 1984 with the fresh fruit and vegetable industry. In the following years, our priority was to focus on fresh fruit and vegetable production. In this context, we positioned our company not only as a trade but also as a manufacturer in products such as tangerines, lemons, oranges, grapes, tomatoes, peppers, zuc-

Ticari hayatımıza 1984 yılında yaş meyve ve sebze sektörü ile başladık. İlerleyen yıllarda önceliğimiz yaş meyve sebze üretimine ağırlık vermek oldu. Bu çerçevede, mandalina, limon, portakal, üzüm, domates, biber,

chini, strawberries, etc. Later, we included the logistics and energy sectors within our organization. We currently have an important truck fleet. Regarding energy, we aimed to establish solar power plants in all our businesses. As of 2020, we started production with a solar power plant in our Seferihisar, Alaşehir and Isparta facilities.

Toplam 94.000 m2’lik kapalı işletme alanı, 45.000 ton kapasiteli soğuk hava depolarımız bulunuyor. 1 milyon m2 alana kurulu seralarımızda domates, 300.000 m2 alana kurulu seralarımızda çilek üretmekteyiz. Yıllık 300.000 ton ürün işleme kapasitemiz ve gelişmiş teknik alt yapımız ile yurt içi ve yurt dışı pazarda en iyi ve kaliteli ürünlerle lider şirket olarak çalışmaya devam ediyoruz.

Mevcut ihracat pazarlarınız ve hedef pazarlarınız nelerdir?

Hedef pazarlarımız İngiltere, İskandinav ülkeleri ve Çin’dir. Mevcut ihracat pazarlarımız; Rusya, Avrupa, Asya ve Uzak Doğu ülkeleridir.

Covid-19 salgını boyunca sağlığa etkileri sebebiyle özellikle pek çok meyveye olan talep arttı. Çeşitli ürünlere ambargo kondu. Covid-19’un ürün gruplarınıza ve ihracatınıza olan etkisini nasıl gözlemliyorsunuz? Firmanız ve ürünleriniz üzerindeki olumlu ve olumsuz etkilerini detaylandırır mısınız?

We are currently exporting to over 40 countries. We got the award of offering the best quality products with being the Turkey Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Export Champion during last three years.

We have a total closed operating area of 94,000 m2 and cold storage with a capacity of 45,000 tons. We produce tomatoes in our greenhouses established on an area of 1 million m2 and strawberries in our greenhouses established on an area of 300,000 m2. We continue to work as a leading company offering the best and quality products in the domestic and international markets with our annual 300,000 tons of product processing capacity and advanced technical infrastructure.

What are your current export markets and target markets?

Our target markets are England, Scandinavian countries and China. Our current export markets are Russia, Europe, Asia and Far East countries.

During the Covid-19 outbreak, the demand especially for many fruits increased due to their health effects. Various products have been embargoed. How do you observe the impact of Covid-19 on your product groups and exports? Can you detail the positive and negative effects of Covid-19 on your company and your products?

Covid-19 reminded us that the health of all living things is interconnected and whole.

And in this connection, the whole world remembered with a painful experience the sector that the whole world started to forget that the most important and even the first sector in the life chain is the agricultural sector.

Therefore, dietary habits began to change around the world. People’s demands for natural and fresh products started to increase.

As a result, our export rates in the agricultural

sector, especially in the fresh fruit and vegetable sector, have increased at record levels.

What would you like to tell about the measures taken by Uçak Kardeşler Company for agriculture during the pandemic period and the assurances offered to the customer?

We provide reliable products to our consumers with the precautions of the hygiene and workplace health units, which we also apply in harvesting, packaging, cold chain applications and shipment processes. We were entitled to receive TSE COVID-19 SAFE PRODUCTION CERTIFICATE from the Turkish Standards Institute.

How do you evaluate your current position and presence in the near future in the UK market? What are your goals and projects for this market?

In cooperation with our affiliated companies, we aim to provide our customers with the best quality products, to meet the products at their arrival point with our office and expert staff in England and to ensure their shipment to the relevant sales points. It is our top priority to make customer relationships closer and easier. It is among our biggest goals to ensure the continuity of product quality at the destination. In addition to fresh fruit and vegetable products, we want to make specific products such as fresh figs, cherries and strawberries more popular in the UK market.

What are your predictions on both production and export for this season? What kind of season do you expect?

We expect this season to increase especially in Northern European countries compared to other seasons.

First of all, I expect and wish that the world will regain its health as soon as possible and that the importance of the agricultural sector in the life chain of all living things on the planet will never be forgotten.

Türk Standartları Enstitüsünden TSE COVİD-19 GÜVENLİ ÜRETİM BELGESİ almaya hak kazandık. İngiltere pazarında mevcut konumunuzu ve firmanızın o pazarda yakın gelecekteki varlığını nasıl değerlendiriyorsunuz? Bu pazar için hedefleriniz ve projeleriniz nelerdir?

Bağlantılı olduğumuz firmalar ile işbirliği içerisinde müşterilerimize en iyi kalitede ürünler sunmak, İngiltere de bulunacak olan ofis ve uzman çalışanlarımız ile ürünlere varış noktasında karşılamak ve ilgili satış noktalarına sevkini sağlamayı hedefliyoruz. Müşteri ilişkilerini daha yakın ve daha kolay hale getirmek bizim bizim önceliğimizdir. Ürün kalitesinin devamlılığını varış noktasında da sağlayabilmek en büyük hedeflerimiz arasındadır. Yaş meyve ve sebze ürünleri- nin yanı sıra özellikle taze incir, kiraz ve çilek gibi spesifik ürünleri İngiltere pazarında daha popüler hale getirmek istiyoruz.

Bu sezon için gerek üretim gerekse ihracat konusunda öngörüleriniz nelerdir? Nasıl bir sezon bekliyorsunuz?

Bu sezonun diğer sezonlara oranla özellikle Kuzey Avrupa ülkelerinde artmasını öngörmekteyiz.

Her şeyden önce dünyanın sağlığına bir an önce kavuşmasını, gezegende yaşayan tüm canlıların ve yaşam zincirinde tarım sektörünün öneminin asla unutulmamasını bekliyor ve diliyorum.

Healthy ingredients and label transparency are more important to consumers than ever before following the COVID-19 pandemic, concludes a new global survey commissioned by the market research company FMCG Gurus on behalf of BENEO. [i]

The results show that across the globe consumers are becoming more conscious about their well-being - particularly immunity - as they question their vulnerability to disease and illness. They are also concerned about the environment and whether the virus’ impact has been intensified because of increased levels of environmental damage. As a result of these attitudinal shifts, consumers are looking to purchase food and drink products that increasingly promote well-being and sustain their energy in challenging times, whilst minimising impact on the environment.

This is in part due to some consumers questioning whether issues such as air pollution have increased respiratory issues, making people more vulnerable to the disease. This concern is being translated into altered buying patterns, with 60% of consumers now being more attentive to the impact that their food and drink has on the environment.

1 million liras digitalization support, given to the digitalized enterprises by KOSGEB got attention. What do you think about influence of digitalization on the enterprises?

We anticipate that the Industry 4.0, the new industrial concept, will take production to countries and continents, having technology. Production will not be done in cheap places or some places, having location advantage, but it will take place in the places, where smart production systems are used.

If developing countries do not realize the structural transformation based on digital technologies in the manufacturing industry and workforce, they will soon see that the cheapness of production and geographic location will no longer be an advantage.

In terms of our SMEs in the industry sector, due to digital technologies, it is necessary to know that results and gains that directly affect competitiveness will be achieved, such as increasing productivity, decreasing waste and costs, decreasing dependency on manpower and skills, increasing the speed of introduction to the market, and

producing quality products that are fully compliant with standards.

According to the importance given to the digital transformation of the industrial sector in the 11th Development Plan, we have included the issue of “digitalization in the manufacturing industry” among the priority themes of KOSGEB since 2019. We have determined our KOBIGEL - SME Development Support Program, customized according to thematic areas and where we select projects with a competitive method, as our main support mechanism for the digital transformation of the industry.

The adaptation of our SMEs in the industrial sector to digital technologies is important for the value-added production-oriented transformation of both our industry and our workforce in the industry.

Covid-19, affected the whole world, made it necessary for many companies to continue their business with digital means. In this context, can we say that the pandemic process has an impact on your support program?

The Covid-19 outbreak triggered the use of smart digital technologies in the industry.

Integrated and automated smart systems in factories reduce the need for high volume workforce. Intelligent digital technologies that enable machine-machine and machine-human interaction minimize the need for close contact in facility and business management. After Covid-19, the need for digital transformation has become very understandable. It is now clear that factories must be equipped with digital production and decision-making technologies.

What are the application conditions for the SME Development Support Program? Does the project cover all sectors?

In order to ensure digital transformation in the industry with a focus on domestic opportunities, SMEs which are both technology suppliers and technology users of smart digital technologies started to be supported by KOSGEB. In 2019, 71.5 million TL of support was approved for 258 projects.

If the rate of meeting the technologies of the manufacturer SMEs from domestic companies is high, this situation is taken into consideration in a positive way in the evaluation of project applications.

KOSGEB tarafından uygun görülen geri ödemeli destek tutarı üzerinden hesaplanacak %50’lik tutar, projesini başlatan işletmelerin talebi üzerine teminat karşılığında “erken ödeme” adı altında harcama yapılmadan önce ödenebilecektir.

Sunulacak projelerin süresi en az 8 ay, en fazla 20 ay olabilecektir.

KOSGEB Veri Tabanına kayıtlı ve başvuru şartlarını karşılayan işletmeler, www. kosgeb.gov.tr adresinden Proje Teklif Çağrılarını inceledikten sonra aynı adresteki “E-hizmetler” menüsünden işletme yetkilisinin e-devlet şifresiyle başvurularını oluşturabilmektedir.

Dijital teknolojilere yerli ve yetkin teknoloji tedarikçileri üzerinden erişilebilirliğinin arttırılması amacıyla, teknoloji geliştiren KOBİ’ler ile dijital teknolojileri iş süreçlerine adapte edecek sanayici KOBİ’lerin işbirliklerinin desteklenmesine, bütçe imkânlarımız dâhilinde önümüzdeki yıllarda da yeni çağrılar ile devam edilecektir.

What is the deadline for the project application and what course should companies want to apply??

Within the scope of the 2020-01 and 2020-02 Project Request for Proposal, up to 300,000 TL non-refundable per business and up to 700,000 TL refundable, a total of 1,000,000 TL support can be provided.

The support rate is 60% (excluding personnel support). 30% of the support to be calculated at this rate will be non-refundable and 70% will be paid as a refund support.

For personnel expenses, non-refundable support will be provided in an amount determined according to the education level coefficient (without applying the rate).

The support will be paid for the procurement of personnel, machinery - equipment, service and software required for the realization of the project. The amount of 50% to be calculated over the reimbursed support amount approved by KOSGEB can be paid before spending under the name of “early payment” in return for guarantee upon the request of the enterprises that started the project.

The duration of the projects to be submitted can be at least 8 months and at most 20 months.

Enterprises registered in the KOSGEB Database and meeting the application requirements can make their applications with the e-government password of the business official from the “E-services” menu at the same address after reviewing the Project Proposal Calls at www.kosgeb.gov.tr.

In order to increase the accessibility of digital technologies through domestic and competent technology suppliers, we will continue to support the cooperation between technology developing SMEs and industrial SMEs who will adapt digital technologies to business processes, with new calls in the coming years within the scope of our budget possibilities.

Would you start with furnishing us with the information about the foreign structure of Messe Frankfurt, a legendary fair organizing company which celebrates its almost 800th anniversary, in general and about the position of Messe Istanbul in particular?

Messe Frankfurt is the largest fair, congress and event organizer of the world in its field. The company has been serving to 190 countries with its 30 affiliated companies employing 2,600 people.

Our company, which organizes over 150 fairs of which more than half are in Germany, is a public establishment owned 60% by Frankfurt Municipality and 40% by Hessen State.

Messe Frankfurt Istanbul International Fair Organization Ltd. was established in the year 2000.

The main idea behind establishing a company in Turkey was to determine the Turkish market and to adopt the manufacturing areas. Our company has been striding to lead Turkish exporters to new markets. It gives us a special pride to see that the companies which we serve have been influential players in international markets and to contribute to the export volume of our country.

You organize the world’s largest fairs in their sectors such as Heimtextil, Ambiente and Automechanika. Are there other fairs in which Turkey is in the first-three national exhibitors? Does Messe Frankfurt Istanbul Turkey assume a role for Messe Frankfurt events or operations outside Turkey or its only mission is about the participation of Turkish companies in Frankfurt fairs and organizations held in Turkey such as Automechanika Istanbul?

Not only in Frankfurt but in many of our international fairs, our companies clearly reflect the production potential of our country with the increasing participation rate every year. Over 300 companies participated in Heimtextil, the most leading home textile fair of the world, this year and the largest exhibition space belonged to us. At Texworld Paris, one

of our clothing fabric fairs, we are the second country with the highest number of exhibitors after China, with the interest shown by our exhibitors to the fair for many years. Leading automotive industry fair Automechanika, the ISH trade fair for our construction and energy sectors, and many more in our fair Light + Building, Turkey is among the countries with the greatest participation. As Messe Frankfurt Istanbul, we also intend to ensure the continuity of this development.

Not only in Motobike Istanbul and Automechanika Istanbul which we organize in Turkey, no matter where in the world, we are aiming minimum one Turkish exhibitor to take place in all of our fairs.

During the pandemic, the fair industry was one of the most affected industries.

What do you expect during and after the normalization process?

Recently, we often hear the expressions of “normalization” and “new normal”.

From the beginning of 2020, the global coronavirus pandemic is challenging the event industry, as there are numerous reasons that have forced humanity to change their daily lives and living conditions throughout its nearly 200,000year history. But as you may understand, in the 780-year period many pandemics, wars, economic and political crises have passed. During this period, both in Turkey and around the world it will be the beginning of a new era and although the expectations as an exhibition area will undergo a change in perception; tough periods such as a pandemic actually accelerate or slow down ongoing processes. Issues such as digitalization and security were already on our agenda, the pandemic accelerates the process only at this point. At the end of the day, whether it is lighting, automotive or textile, both the manufacturer and the consumer are human. As a social being, human always prefers to meet face to face. In cases where physical meeting is restricted or there is no feasibility, digital platforms are of course a very good opportunity offered by technology. However, as long as humanity remains on the stage of history, and as Messe Frankfurt’s

Messe Frankfurt İstanbul’un Türkiye operasyonları dışında Messe Frankfurt etkinliklerinde rolü var mıdır yoksa sadece Türk firmalarının Frankfurt fuarlarına katılımı ile Automechanika İstanbul’un organizasyonu ile mi ilgileniyor?

Sadece Frankfurt değil, yurtdışı fuarlarımızın birçoğunda firmalarımız, her yıl yükselen katılım grafiği ile ülkemizin üretim potansiyelini net bir biçimde yansıtıyor. Dünyanın lider ev tekstili fuarı Heimtextil’de bu yıl Türkiye’den 300’ün üzerinde firma standı yer aldı ve katılım gösteren ülkeler arasında en büyük sergi alanı ülkemize aitti.

Giyimlik kumaş fuarlarımızdan Texworld Paris’te uzun yıllardır katılımcılarımızın fuara gösterdikleri ilgi ile Çin’in ardından en çok katılımcısı olan 2. ülke konumundayız. Lider otomotiv endüstrisi fuarı Automechanika, yapı ve enerji sektörlerine yönelik fuarlarımızdan ISH, Light+Building ve daha birçok fuarımızda Türkiye, en fazla katılım gösteren ülkeler arasında yer alıyor. Messe Frankfurt İstanbul olarak bizler de bu gelişimin sürekliliğini sağlamak niyetindeyiz. Sadece Türkiye’de düzenlediğimiz Motobike Istanbul ve Automechanika Istanbul değil, dünyanın neresinde olursa olsun her fuarımızda en az 1 Türk firmanın katılımcı olarak yer almasını hedefliyoruz.

Pandemi sürecinde fuarcılık sektörü fazla etkilenen sektörlerden birisi oldu. Normalleşme sürecinde ve sonrasında neler bekliyorsunuz?

Son dönemde “normalleşme” ve “yeni normal” ifadelerini sıklıkla duyuyoruz. İnsanoğlunun yaklaşık 200 bin yıllık tarihi boyunca günlük yaşamlarını ve yaşam koşullarını değiştirme-

ye zorlayan sayısız nedenlerde olduğu gibi, 2020’nin başından itibaren küresel korona virüs pandemisi etkinlik endüstrisine meydan okuyor.

Fakat takdir edersiniz ki 780 yıllık süreçte birçok pandemi, savaş, ekonomik ve politik kriz döneminden geçildi. Bu dönem hem dünyada hem de Türkiye’de yeni bir dönemin başlangıcı olacak ve fuar alanı algısı da değişime uğrayacak gibi bir beklenti olsa da; pandemi gibi sıkıntılı dönemler aslında süregelen süreçleri hızlandırıyor ya da yavaşlatıyor. Dijitalleşme ve güvenlik gibi konular zaten gündemimizdeydi, pandemi sadece bu noktada süreci hızlandırıyor. Günün sonunda ister aydınlatma, ister otomotiv, ister tekstil işi yapın üretici de, tüketici de insan. İnsan sosyal bir varlık olarak her zaman yüz yüze görüşmeyi tercih eder. Fiziksel görüşmenin kısıtlandığı ya da fizibilitesinin olmadığı durumlarda dijital platformlar elbette ki teknolojinin bizlere sunduğu çok güzel bir fırsat. Ancak, insanlık tarih sahnesinde olmaya devam ettiği sürece ve Messe Frankfurt’un platformlarının 780 yıldır mümkün kıldığı gibi, ticari fuar endüstrisinin en önemli başarı faktörü, yüz yüze görüşmeler olmaya devam edecektir.

platforms have made possible for 780 years, the most important success factor of the trade fair industry will continue to be face-to-face meetings.

As Messe Frankfurt, we take measures to maintain social distance on the basis of increasing corridor widths and minimum stand areas, one / two-way traffic practices in the corridors, regulations in food and beverage areas and regular health checks in all the organizations we organize after the pandemic and will organize in the upcoming period.

Will there be any new events Messe Frankfurt will organize Istanbul in Turkey?

We welcome a lot of suggestions from the collaboration of exporters’ unions and associations which we cooperate in our foreign fairs about organizing a new event in Turkey. Of course, we continue our evaluations for a fair organization for the right sectors at the right time. We will provide platform infrastructure for the Virtual Hometex Turkey 2020 digital event, which will be organized by Denizli Exporters Associa-

tion and Denizli Chamber of Industry between 18-20 November 2020, and bring international visitors from the home textile industry together with our companies, and we will provide international marketing services for more than 100,000 company officials all over the world. In the near future, we will work on similar digital projects in different sectors with our other export associations.

What are your recommendations to prospective exhibitors and visitors for the new term?

We are in a period where pandemic and international travel restrictions continue. In this process, postponing or canceling international trade fairs for future dates has generated a need for new product arrangements and new business connections for both manufacturers and purchasers. Unless trade fairs are organized, manufacturers cannot find the opportunity to present their new products and services to their potential customers and purchasing professionals cannot find the chance to meet new suppliers that will meet the demand in their markets.

When the international trade fairs reopen, the effect of the pandemic will continue, and it will take time for the number of exhibitors and visitors to reach the previous level. However, our advice to our companies is that they take all personal health precautions as long as they can travel to the fair and take part in our fairs, not to miss the chance to “turn the crisis into an opportunity” arising from the pandemic. With our hybrid fair applications, as long as you are participating in our fairs, even visitors who cannot travel will be able to view your products in digital environment and communicate with you live thanks to your presence in both physical and digital platforms. In this way, you can convert your fair investment to export in a short time by establishing new business connections.

Yurt dışı fuarlarımızda işbirliği içinde olduğumuz ihracatçı birlikleri ve derneklerden Türkiye’de yeni bir etkinlik düzenlemememiz yönünde sık sık öneriler alıyoruz. Elbette bizler de doğru zamanda, doğru sektörlere yönelik bir fuar organizasyonu için değerlendirmelerimizi sürdürüyoruz. 18-20 Kasım 2020 tarihleri arasında Denizli İhracatçılar Birliği ve Denizli Sanayi Odası’nın organize edeceği, ev tekstili sektöründen uluslararası ziyaretçileri firmalarımızla buluşturacak ‘Virtual Hometex Turkey 2020’ dijital etkinliği için platform altyapısı ve tüm dünyada 100.000’in üzerinde firma yetkilisine yönelik uluslararası pazarlama hizmeti sunacağız. Yakın gelecekte diğer ihracatçı birliklerimizle de farklı sektörlerde benzer dijital projeler üzerinde çalışmalarımız olacaktır.

Yeni dönem için potansiyel katılımcı ve ziyaretçilere tavsiyeleriniz nelerdir?

Pandemi ve uluslararası seyahat kısıtlamalarının devam ettiği bir dönemdeyiz. Bu süreçte, uluslararası ticaret fuarlarının ileri tarihlere ertelenmesi veya iptal edilmesi hem üretici hem de satın almacı firmalar için yeni ürünler ve yeni iş bağlantılarına yönelik aylardır devam eden bir ihtiyaç doğurmuş durumdadır. Ticaret fuarları düzenlenmediği sürece üretici firmalar yeni ürün ve hizmetlerini potansiyel müşterilerine sergileme imkânı bulamazken, satın alma profesyonelleri de kendi pazarlarındaki talebi karşılayacak yeni tedarikçilerle buluşma şansı bulamıyor. Uluslararası ticaret fuarları tekrar açıldığında pandeminin etkisi devam edecek, katılımcı ve ziyaretçi sayılarının eski seviyeye ulaşması elbette zaman alacaktır.

We asked the firm’s success story and bulgur, which is used in raw balls (steak tartar a la turca), stuffed meatballs, pilaf and many

other Turkish specialties, to Vakıf Aslan, Import Export Director of Akbulgur.

Could you tell us about your company’s product groups and monthly production capacity?

We have products such as meatball bagel bulgur, Midyat type, coarse bulgur, başbaşı bulgur, chickpeas from 6 to 9 caliber. Our monthly capacity is 1000 tons.

Can you talk about your sales channels in Turkey?

Our products are delivered to everywhere in the country through dealers and wholesalers.

Which countries are your current export markets and target markets?

We are currently exporting to countries such as Iraq, Syria and Lebanon. We target the Russian Federation market.

Are you planning to participate in domestic and international fairs in 2021?

We plan to participate in fairs in Russia and Dubai markets. We will act according to the developments.

Bulgur taşıdığı besin değerleri ve lezzeti sebebiyle gıda sanayinin önemli ürünlerinden birisi olup bütün dünyada gittikçe değeri daha fazla anlaşılmakta ve hızla yükselen ürünler arasında yer almaktadır.

Kısa, orta ve uzun vadede hedeflerinizden bahseder misiniz?

Hepsi için ana hedefimiz kapasitemizi arttırarak daha fazla ihracat yapmak. Özellikle önümüzdeki beş yılda operasyonlarımızı daha geliştirerek bu şifalı ve sağlıklı ürünü daha fazla insana ulaştırmanın gayreti içinde olacağız.

WorldFood Moskova Kovid-19’dan sonra fuar alanında ziyaretçilerin katılımıyla gerçekleştirilen ilk yiyecek sektörü etkinliği oldu Good news from Russia: WorldFood Moscow became the first offline food industry event after Covid-19 377 yiyecek üreticisi ve tedarikçisi tüm ürün kategorilerini kapsayan fuarın 15 bölümünde ürünlerini sundu.

Bu yıl WorldFood Moskova etkinliği herkesçe bilinen sebeplerden ötürü yoğunlukla Moskova’dan ve Rusya’nın bölgelerinden şirketlerin katıldığı bir fuar olarak gerçekleştirildi. 30 toplu sergi Rusya’nın bölgelerini temsil etti.

Mordovya fuara ilk defa katıldı. “Tut myaso” helal et ürünlerini, çiğ kurutulmuş sosisleri ve konservede türlü ürünlerini sergiledi. “Mordovskiye Penkozavody” Feel right markasıyla kenevirin işlenmiş ürünlerini fuarda sergiledi.

WorldFood Moskova 2020, kısıtlamalar sonrası dönemde fuar alanında gerçekleştirilen ilk yiyecek sektörü etkinliğiydi. Uzun bir belirsizlik, tüketici taleplerindeki değişimler ziyaretçilerin fuara artan bir ilgi göstermesine sebep oldu. 12.799 uzman fuarı ziyaret etti.

Aynı zamanda ziyaretçilerin yoğunluğu (metrekareye düşen sayı) 2,5 kattan daha fazla artarak ve toplam 3,7’ye tekabül etti (2019 senesinde 1,4 rakamıyla karşılaştırıldığında).

Ziyaretçi kalitesi de artış gösterdi. Ziyaretçilerin %42’si (5.376 kişi) şirketlerin tepe yöneticisi ve yardımcılarıyken ziyaretçilerin %79’u (10.111 kişi) satın alma konusunda karar verme yetkisi bulunan kişilerdi.

Fuar her yıl toptan satış ve perakende zincirlerinin satın alma sorumluları ve yeni tedarikçiler bulmakla ilgilenen HoReCa bölümü temsilcileri tarafından ziyaret ediliyor. Ziyaretçilerin %73’ü (9.343 kişi) yeni üreticiler bulmak ve endüstriyle ilgili bilgi almak için fuara katıldı.

Aynı zamanda, satın alma kitlesi yıldan yıla güncelleniyor. 2020 senesindeki ziyaretçilerin %41’i (5.278 kişi) fuara ilk defa katılım gösterdi.

Every year, exhibitors present new products in the confectionery sector, in the healthy food, grocery, dairy and other sectors of the exhibition. This year was no exception: more than 500 new products were presented at WorldFood Moscow 2020.

WorldFood Moscow 2020 became the first offline food industry event after a period of restrictions. A long period of uncertainty, changes in consumer demand caused increased interest in the exhibition from visitors - 12,799 specialists visited the exhibition. At the same time, the density of visitors (number per square meter) increased by more than 2.5 times and amounted to 3.7 (compared to 1.4 in 2019).

The quality of visitors has also increased: 42% (5,376) of visitors are heads of companies and their deputies, and 79% (10,111) are decision-makers on purchases.

Every year the exhibition is visited by buyers from wholesale and retail chains, as well as representatives of the HoReCa segment, who are interested in finding new suppliers - 73% (9 343) of visitors come to the exhibition to find new manufacturers and receive industry information. At the same time, the audience of buyers is updated from year to year - 41% (5,278) of visitors in 2020 came to the exhibition for the first time.

In 2021, WorldFood Moscow will be held on September 21-24 at Crocus Expo.

With Russia’s food import embargo in 2014, imports decreased by more than half the following year, which was then compensated by an increase in Turkish and Chinese imports. The dynamics within the stonefruit sector is about to change, however, as Turkey, which holds nearly half of the shares in Russia’s peach and nectarine imports, along with other rising countries, will increase their presence even more.

Chinese Stonefruits on the decline China has been a steady supplier for stonefruits to Russia, for which in 2008 its export value was recorded at USD 10 million, ahead of Turkey’s export value of USD 7.4 million. While Turkey outpaced China just a few years after, China had still maintained a prominent position in Russia’s stonefruit market. It was for this reason that when the ban came into place in 2019, it came at a blow to many Chinese exporters.

nectarines will be down by one-third in the absence of the Russian market, according to the USDA. Production is not expected to fare well either, which will decrease by roughly 500K tons from MY 2019/20 to a total of 14.5 million tons after heavy snow in April. Instead of being export-heavy, the MY 2020/21 season will be different for China, where forecasts have indicated a more than 40% increase in imports, driven by Chile.

Turkey gains more leverage in Russian market Due to favorable climate conditions, the growth of the juice industry, and strong governmental support, the Turkish stonefruit industry has been flourishing.

The coronavirus has had minimal impact on the sector, and Turkey has appealed to consumers worldwide for its attractive prices, owing to its low labor costs and high supply.

Turkey’s growth in export value to Russia recorded a staggering 288% over 2015-19, while quantity exported witnessed a 32% increase. For the MY 2020/21 season, Turkish peach and nectarine exports are expected to reach 140K tons, up by 40K tons from the previous season. In contrast, overall peach and nectarine production has contracted globally in major producing countries such as the United States, the EU, and China, presenting a golden opportunity for Turkey to become a leader in the peach and nectarine industry.

In addition, the EU’s access to the Russian market has also been blocked until the end of this year. Top exporter Spain, along with Italy and France, has been reducing acreages for peaches and nectarines due to an accumulating surplus and looking to opt for tree nuts instead.

It will not be an uncommon sight to see new players emerge in the peach and nectarine industry as well, depending on their relationship with Russia. Egypt, for example, which has maintained solid relations with Russia in fruit exports, has increased peach and nectarine exports by 186% in terms of import value during 2018-19.

Türkiye’nin Rusya’ya ihracat değerindeki büyüme 2015-2019 döneminde şaşırtıcı bir şekilde % 288 olarak gerçekleşti, rekor seviyeye ulaştı. Aynı dönemde ihraç edilen miktar ise %32 artış gösterdi. 2020/2021 işletme döneminde ise Türkiye şeftali ve nektarin ihracatının bir önceki döneme göre 40 bin ton artışla 140 bin tona ulaşması bekleniyor. Aksine toplamda şeftali ve nektarin üretimi Amerika Birleşik Devletleri, AB ve Çin gibi büyük üretici ülkelerde küresel olarak daraldı. Bu durum Türkiye’nin şeftali ve nektarin endüstrisinde lider olması için altın bir fırsat sunuyor.

Ayrıca AB’nin Rusya pazarına girişi de bu yılın sonuna kadar engellendi. En büyük ihracatçı İspanya, İtalya ve Fransa ile birlikte şeftali ve nektarin ekim alanlarını biriken fazlalık nedeniyle azaltıyor, onun yerine yemiş ağaçlarını ekiyor.

Rusya ile ilişkilerine bağlı olarak şeftali ve nektarin endüstrisinde de yeni oyuncuların ortaya çıkması şaşırtıcı olmayacak. Örneğin meyve ihracatında Rusya’yla iyi ilişkilerini sürdüren Mısır, 2018-2019 döneminde şeftali ve nektarin ihracatını ithalat değeri bakımından % 186 oranında arttırdı.

Food processors see multiple benefits Thanks to the performance metrics gathered by TOMRA Insight, processors can benefit in many ways. Downtime is reduced by monitoring machine health and performance to support predictive and condition-based maintenance. Throughput is maximized by evaluating variations and

optimizing sorting equipment accordingly.

Efficiency is improved by identifying gaps in production and analyzing potential root causes. Sorting to target quality is enhanced by being able to make decisions based on accurate product composition data. And operations are simplified through easier spare parts ordering and flexible access to data and documentation.

One food processor which conducted an early trial of TOMRA Insight and has now committed to the subscription service is The Jersey Royal Company. Located in the British Crown Dependency of Jersey, this company is the producer of the internationally-recognized Jersey Royal new potato in the Channel Islands. This business grows, washes, grades, packs, and supplies approximately 20,000 tonnes of potatoes every year. Four of the company’s sorting machines – one Halo and three TOMRA 5A’s – have been connected to TOMRA Insight for more than six months now and have convincingly proven the data platform’s effectiveness.

Fuarlara katılımda HES kodu zorunluluğu Her yıl yılda gerçekleştirdiği 40’ın üzerinde fuar ile sektöre yön veren CNR Holding, yeni normalleşme döneminde fuarlarda katılımcı ve ziyaretçilerin sağlığını güvence altına alarak, olası risklerin bertaraf edilmesi için devletin ve Uluslararası Fuarlar Birliği’nin (UFI) belirlediği yeni normale dönüş kriterleri kapsamında bir dizi önlem aldı. Buna göre; fuara giriş ve çıkış noktaları yeniden düzenlendi. Fuar girişlerinde vücut ısısı kontrolü yapılırken, aynı zamanda havalandırma sistemlerinde harici hava kullanılarak içerideki hava sürekli temiz tutuluyor. Aynı anda fuar alanında bulunan kişi sayısı sınırlandırılırken, fuara girişlerde katılımcı, ziyaretçi ve görevlilerin HES kodu sorgulaması yapılıyor.

Turkish companies will set sail to new markets at the exhibition The Turkish food and beverage industry, one of the foremost sectors for the Turkish economy through its added value and trade activities, will be represented at the exhibition with its outstanding companies. The industry, in which nearly 50 thousand companies employ around 600 thousand people, will add new markets to its trade of over 10 billion dollars with the contribution of the exhibition.

The guest of honor is the famous chef, Thomas A. Gugler Gathering industry representatives from all over the world on the same platform, the exhibition will welcome Master of the Chefs, famous chef Thomas A. Gugler, who represents more than 12 million chefs from 107 countries at every level as the President of WACS (World Association of Chefs Societies). Mr. Gugler will deliver a presentation named “Global Trends and Sustainability”, where he will share his career journey in the culinary profession as well as key information on retaining and developing global culinary standards.
