EQUIPMENT SHOWCASE 2024 THE
Last month, I attended my first American Rental Association (ARA) Show, held in New Orleans. Among many trends noticed was a focus on the operator focus, listening to the customer and equipment flexibility. When colleagues shared that the show was a “buying show,” I wasn’t sure what to expect. Attendees and exhibitors signing contracts in the booth wasn’t the first thing I thought I’d see, but I saw that and more.
Because it is a selling show, SANY had dealers in the booth to help customers and make sales. At the time that we talked with the SANY team, they already had two dozen quotes. In the booth, the team featured equipment popular to the rental market, and 99% of the machines were available on dealers’ lots.
At the John Deere booth, the focus was mainly on earthmoving equipment. What excited the team most was being back at the show and feeling that energy was back. One machine featured was the 85-P Excavator, which is popular in the rental market. SANY, John Deere and many others indicated that design factors and changes to equipment were made after listening to the needs of their customers.

Link-Belt 750 X4 Excavator
Greater digging power and increased lift capacities are the result of the Spool Stroke Control system, which reduces pressure loss and distributes hydraulic oil more smoothly. Pilot pressure sensors detect the type of work being done, such as digging or leveling and then relays that data to proportional solenoid valves that quickly determine where optimal hydraulic pressures should be directed for that operation.
Two electronically controlled Kawasaki variable-displacement axial-piston pumps and one Kawasaki gear pump assure that hydraulic power is delivered precisely when and where it’s needed. At the same time, hydraulic flows in noncritical areas of the system are reduced.
The result is better breakout force, more lifting strength and faster machine response. The X4 Series features PA-certified Final Tier 4 engines from Isuzu with a balance between power, productivity and fuel efficiency.
Kubota SVL75-3 CTL
