OMG. IT’S PAUL THINKING THOUGHTS Hey Dudes and Dudettes, I hope my words find you well. Well, we made it through the Winter and the early Spring warmer weather is continuing its welcomed visits. It’s a time for rejoicing as numerous art related events are beginning to bloom alongside the colorful and soul lifting array of flowers one can see when venturing outside of their hibernative dwelling. It’s nice to be out and about. We’re looking forward to sharing the many experiences the warm weather enhances in the coming months as festivals, concerts, exhibitions, and get togethers we partake with you brings an even more profound dimension to the occurrence. We are also looking forward to offering some art related events and opportunities for art lovers to expand their interests and talents of our own. In fact, we held a Forwardian Art Lovers’ Gathering on Saturday March 16 th at The Renegade Winery in Stroudsburg, PA from which a number of ideas were discovered. They included Digital Book Signing Events for authors whose books are primarily available on line. This is a very unique way for authors who thoroughly embraces new technologies to share their endeavors with others. You’ll be receiving more news about this as the idea develops. In the meantime, we’re continuing to receive a nice number of original films for us to consider for inclusion in The 2019 Forwardian Film Festival. The excellent quality of the work continues to make it difficult to deter mine which films will be selected for the event. We’ll be receiving original cinematic works until June 1 st and our group of Forwardian Film Pickers are busy ensuring this year’s festival will be filled with wonderful cinematic visions through their thoughtful insights and their profound love for the art of film. We thank these dedicated individuals for the continuing love they express through their endeavors. As we conclude our message for this month’s issue of The Forwardian Gazette, we would like to pay homage to some wonderful artists who passed away in late February and early March. The first is Lisa Posegate Sakoutis who suffered a brain aneurysm which immediately took her life on February 28 th. Her love for the arts and living life fully was and remains to be an inspiration to those who had the good fortune to know her. She would often be seen with her two friends Lauryn de Leeuw and Rena Hottinger who would be considered a bonafide triple threat as their incredible talents and zest for life never failed to light up any room they entered. The sec ond is Joyce Ballagh Bambach who passed away on March 3 rd and was well known for her skills in aerial photography and capturing images of student athletes during their sporting events. Thank you both for touching our hearts. We are much better people because of you. Let’s Art. Well, that’s all from me for now. How are you? Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have about this publication, The Forwardian Arts Society, or anything at all. I promise to tell you everything. I would make a terrible spy. I look forward to hearing from you soon and I'll keep a good thought for you until then. Going Forwardian with you Paul Adam Smeltz The Forwardian Arts Society

WHO THE FORWARDIAN ARE WE? “We share the belief that the arts can inspire our creative dreams to become magnificent worlds of our deepest experiences reminding us who we really are. Therefore, our fellowship shares a desire to support, encourage, and explore the artistic experiences of creative individuals and groups as they go forward toward their dreams.” Mission Statement

THE FORWARDIAN GAZETTE As our mission statement suggests, The Forwardian Arts Society is a fellowship for people who love the arts. We define ourselves as a fellowship as compared to an organization because organization suggests some form of hierarchy exists where some members would have the right (or assume to have the right) to tell other member what to do.

APRIL 2019 FILM SELECTORS WANTED Do you like watching films? Lots of films? On your own computer of digital device? Would you like to play an instrumental role in selecting the films that will be show during the 2019 Forwardian Film Festival? Well then, this invitation is for you.

On the other hand, a fellowship suggests every member is equal to one another and each member’s conduct in The Forwardian Arts Society is only governed by their love for the arts.

We need film lovers, such as yourself, to view the films as they come in and to let us know what you think of them. This is done through Film Freeway and it's very easy to do. All we would need is your email address so you can be listed as a judge who will be entitled access to the films we reWe invite everyone who love the arts to be a part of The ceive. We will be accepting submissions of films from Forwardian Arts Society. It’s free with the only require- around the world for the 2019 Forwardian Film Festival until ments there are to be included is to have a love for the arts Saturday June 1st. and a desire to be a part of The Forwardian Arts Society. The Forwardian Arts Society Friend and Facilitator, Paul (aka The Forwardian Dude), travels all around experiencing a multitude of adventures throughout the artistic community. You can see him almost anywhere there's an artists' reception being held, a play being presented, or a concert being performed with his camera. He posts the photographs he takes on his Social Networks. He says, "The reason I do this is twofold. One is to help promote the artist and the venue through these sites and second to help people who can't attend these events for whatever reason to still partake of them."

The submission deadline for our May 2019 Issue is April 15th. We look forward to hearing from you. THE 2019 FORWARDIAN FILM FESTIVAL We invite all filmmakers to be a part of our Festival. Films may be of any length, style, or topic. Films that are considered Pornographic or promoting hate will not be considered. Submissions of films will be accepted until June 1st, 2019 and notification to finalist will be given on July 20th, 2019.

We look forward to learning your thoughts on the films you'll see as they will make this year's festival something wonderful.

GET UP TO DATE LISTINGS Wow, we’ve covered a lot of things in this issue. However, many things come to us after the magazine is published.
