FEBRUARY 2019

PAUL THINKING THOUGHTS Hey Dudes and Dudettes, I hope my words find you well. As the first month of a new year comes to a close, we would like to look forward to a wonderful future that has already sent encouraging echoes to the present and recent past. We met with a small number of experiences this month which gave us a moment to find some recuperative relaxation. This respite has given us the inspiration to look forward toward all the wonderful adventures the future awaits us as our imaginations venture forth with refreshed souls. We are allowing our minds to contemplate some wonderful things our fellowship could be doing in 2019 and we’ll be sure to share these thoughts with you as well with opportunities to participate once they become more solidified. We hope to continue our contributions to the arts and the opportunities all of the various disciplines offers the human spirit to embrace during the remainder of the year and beyond. This includes our continued endeavor to provide you with news about what is going on throughout the creative community so you can partake and/or participate in its numerous offerings made known through the publication of The Forwardian Gazette. We’ll also be publishing another issue our long awaited Literary and Arts Magazine Forwardian which will have the creative works of writers, poets, photographers, and artists throughout the Northeast PA area and beyond. This publication has given many a place to share their talents while providing those who embrace new words and ideas through their experience of being in our magazine. In the meantime, we’re continuing to receive a nice number of original films for us to consider for inclusion in The 2019 Forwardian Film Festival. The excellent quality of the work continues to make it difficult to determine which films will be selected for the event. We’ll be receiving original cinematic works until June 1 st and we invite you to join our selection group in order to help pick the films that will be in this year’s festival and share in their joys of discovering the qualities of the outstanding work we have and will receive. All you need to do is email us at forwardian@hotmail.com with the words Film Festival Selector in the Subject line and we’ll include you on the list of those who have access to the films we receive and have the ability to rate them. We hope you’ll join us in our enjoyable endeavors as we value your insights highly. We would like to initiate some new projects during the coming year and, like the film festival and our publications, we could use your help. So, to that end, we are planning a get together in March to explore with one another how our fellow ship can enhance its goals to Encourage, Support, and Love the artistic community. We want to learn of and from your ideas and insights. The Forwardian Arts Society is something wonderful. But we can never forgo any opportunity to explore who we are to become more that who we are. As we develop a site and exact time for the March get together to occur, we’ll share the information with you. We hope you join us at that time. Let’s Art. Well, that’s all from me for now. How are you? Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have about this publica tion, The Forwardian Arts Society, or anything at all. I promise to tell you everything. I would make a terrible spy. I look forward to hearing from you soon and I'll keep a good thought for you until then. Going Forwardian with you Paul Adam Smeltz The Forwardian Arts Society

FEBRUARY 2019 the artistic experiences of creative individuals and groups as they go forward toward their dreams.” Mission Statement As our mission statement suggests, The Forwardian Arts Society is a fellowship for people who love the arts. We define ourselves as a fellowship as compared to an organization because organization suggests some form of hierarchy exists where some members would have the right (or assume to have the right) to tell other member what to do. On the other hand, a fellowship suggests every member is equal to one another and each member’s conduct in The Forwardian Arts Society is only governed by their love for the arts. We invite everyone who love the arts to be a part of The Forwardian Arts Society. It’s free with the only requirements there are to be included is to have a love for the arts and a desire to be a part of The Forwardian Arts Society. The Forwardian Arts Society Friend and Facilitator, Paul (aka The Forwardian Dude), travels all around experiencing a multitude of adventures throughout the artistic community. You can see him almost anywhere there's an artists' reception being held, a play being presented, or a concert being performed with his camera. He posts the photographs he takes on his Social Networks. He says, "The reason I do this is twofold. One is to help promote the artist and the venue through these sites and second to help people who can't attend these events for whatever reason to still partake of them." The submission deadline for our March 2019 Issue is February 15th. We look forward to hearing from you.
