Halfway Through an Exciting 2014
Every year we are amazed at how quickly we reach the midpoint of the year. In
July, we not only have Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Dream and Major League Lacrosse airing on FOX Sports South and SportSouth but we are also prepping for the upcoming college football, NHL and NBA seasons.
July is also the month of All-Star games. Major League Baseball will host their mid-summer classic in Minneapolis, Minn., at the Twins magnificent Target Field. Coverage on July 15 begins at 4:30 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1, followed by the 2014 All-Star Game at 7:30 p.m. ET on FOX. Freddie Freeman, Craig Kimbrel and Julio Teheran will represent Braves Country in the game, with Justin Upton (#VoteJUp) potentially joining them as part of the All-Star Game Final Vote competition. Meanwhile, Atlanta Dream guard Shoni Schimmel and guard/forward Angel McCoughtry have been selected to the starting lineup for the July 19 WNBA All-Star Game in Phoenix. Schimmel led all East guards with 25,601 votes, which was third among all WNBA players.

Living in the South, college football is a year-round discussion. Over the next month, we will be talking a lot about our upcoming original shows led by the brand-new ACC Gridiron Live (debuts Wednesday, August 27 at 10:00 p.m. ET) and the fourth season of The New College Football Show with Bates and Bowden (debuts Tuesday, August 26 at 5:30 p.m. ET). These shows along with the return of ACC All Access (debuts Thursday, September 4 at 5:30 p.m. ET) will keep college fans updated on college football action from around the country.

And talk about Great Moments: in July we will watch three Braves legends – Bobby Cox, Tom Glavine and Greg Maddux – enshrined in the National Baseball Hall of Fame. We will have three special DRIVEN episodes featuring these legends (Thursday, July 17 at 7p.m. on FOX Sports South), and FOX Sports South will be in Cooperstown to capture the festivities.
We hope your summer is filled with plenty of great moments, as well!
Tom Glavine signs his first contract with the Braves.
Partnership Highlights The FOX Sports South sales team recently added Progressive Insurance to its roster of clients. The company, whose Special Lines business insures ATVs, boats, RVs, motorcycles and other non-main stream insurance needs, is looking to communicate its brand message across the Southeast, using FOX Sports platforms as a means to accomplish this. Progressive will be featured both in-game and postgame on FOX Sports South and SportSouth within Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Hawks programming.
