/ URBINO PINBALL - Academic project ISIA URBINO, Italy 2009 Project developed during the workshop given by Salottobuono about “SUSTAINABLE DESIGN: the political role of the designer and the ethical and social consequences of his work” at ISIA URBINO. This work realized with a colleague, Giulia Guerra, reflects our idea of transforming the city into a pinball game due to its own features as a feudal city. After analysing the territory, the public spaces, its users and their relation, we came to the idea of the city as a game space.

CHANGE - EMMC - ReCity Master Course, IMed Catanzaro, Italy 2011 FIVE IDEAS FOR THREE CONCEPT This is a proposal for urban regeneration of the small city of Rosarno, next to Gioia Tauro port in Calabria region. The focus area was the city centre - neglected, degradeted, abandoned and without regular urban grid. Some of the main problems were: - illegal housing - inexisting pedestrian paths - old infrastructure - strong and consolidated presence of mafia over - institutions - powerlessness of unmotivated citizens

The strong sense of belonging in contrast to the image of the city itself was the matter that inspired our solutions. We tought of three possible focus of intervention:

- Airy - Soft - Hard Each of the solutions can work independently or as a whole.

/ REVALUING VELLUTER - EMMC ReCity - Polytecnic University Valencia, Spain 2012 Velluters is a neighbourhood of the historic center of the city of Valencia, Spain. Historically, this area has always played a key role within the city. “Since de 60’s”, it has slowly lost its value and has acquired a very degraded identity due to several urban plans designed specifically for it. The project aims to develope a proposal to regenerate the area rebuilding the identity and making grow the sense of belonging to its inhabitants.

Revaluing Velluters

The project has been realized together with the architect Renata Correa Zschaber Nogueira and the sociologist Louisa Weiss. These proposals are a result of a multidisciplinary team work where, even though we have different views, we approached to the same concept.

/ REVALUING VELLUTER - EMMC ReCity - Polytecnic University Valencia, Spain 2012

Expressing public opinions. Which opinions? What people want? They want more commitment from public institutions towards the neighborhood. They want someone to take care of them.

Neighborhood is too degraded, is too grey. What brings about a sentiment of sadness. We want to give some life to the neighborhood by insertion of color in its more general meaning trough their partecipation. Give color by lightening, by greening and naturally also by painting.

CONCEPT 01

CONCEPT 02

Look after Velluters! Look after us!

Coloring Velluters

There are many abandoned heritage in the area. Therefore a huge portion of history lost. We want to save the memory of tangible and intangible heritage of Velluters and when its possible the physical heritage itself.

CONCEPT 03 Save our history!

Proj ec t

We want to eliminate the emptiness of the neighborhood by bringing people to the open spaces and creating relations between them. For this purpose we want to increase and improve the quality of open spaces as well as introducing new activities and possibilities for the inhabitants.

CONCEPT 04

Connecting people.

/ DROP IN THE SEA - Academic project - EMMC ReCity Master Course, Italy 2011 DROP IN THE SEA This project refers to the idea of transmitting the perception of a geografical area where we live, in this case, the city of Catanzaro, Calabria, Italy. This work was realized with a colleague, Ayrat Khusnutdinov, while experimenting with mental maps and graphics. This project reflects how we perceive the city and our time living there coming from different cultural backgrounds.

We wanted to express our perception with variables such as emotion, time, quantity and knowledge of the territory. In this way, the project takes a considerably broader view of our feelings. The name of the concept “drop in the sea refers to the drop-effect of the emotions and their relevance.

/ H20 - Academic project ESAD Oporto, 2010 In this project the goal was to create the visual identity of the society for the defense of water resources “H2O”. I’ve designed, trought infographic, a flyer that show the domestic consuption of water. I’ve creae icons that sintetize daily practice related with the water as element of our life, to synthesize visually was I was talking about.

The informations can be visualized by different media: mail, posters, icons, and on products as glasses or jug.

Check that there are no leaks in the pipes or faucets: you can save about 22% water.

Use non-potable water or rainwater collection, preferably wait for the rain! ..

For watering the garden or the yard use rainwater or recycled one, if possible collect the water used for washing vegetables and / or cooking, for plants.

WC DRAINING

LAUNDRY

in many houses we have an excessive consumption of water. For this purpose, it is good to ensure we have installed buttons for differentiated drain, and check the float valve of the toilet to make sure there are no leaks. Try putting a brick or a bottle into the cassette toilet, the services will work equally well and use less water.

every time we do the laundry use washing machines only with full load, and remember to enter the program economizer if the laundry or the dishes are few..

Wash dishes by hand when there are few, or at least run the dishwasher only when it is full, you save water, detergent and electricity. A dishwasher takes about 40 liters of water.

SPB CONTEST- Academic project / ESAD / 2010 Sociedad portoguesa de biomecanica This logo was created for a contest for the Portuguese Society of Biomechanics. The task was to create the new visual identity for the society. Both geometrical forms are simple in the whole composition. The letter “M has a more complex orientation in order to create a relation between the idea of mechanism and curves referring to the human body.

/ LIVRO OBJECTO - ESAD Oporto, Portugal 2010 Project developed during the BA Graphic Design at ESAD. The task was to elaborate a book-object inspired by a text of Jo達o Paulo Cotrim. By using tracing paper, the effect created thanks to the transparencies show the text line after line creating a vanishing effect. The text is accompanied by original digital illustration which plays with the overlap and combination of different layers.

/ ASAS DE ICARO - ESAD Oporto, Portugal 2010 The task for this project was to design a magazine about young people’s lifestyle. The only requirement for the project was the name of the magazine: “Asas de Icaro” (Icarus wings). The publication has a simple design that tries to put in relation the text with the images with a predominance of illustrations and modified grid for each articles.

/ MEMORY ON THE BEACH, Traditional Games - ESAD Oporto, Portugal 2010 This book was created during my last year of the BA Graphic Design at ESAD, Porto, where I studied a year as an Erasmus student. We had to create the whole layout and imagery of a book about traditional portuguese beach games. As the text we had to include were the rules of the games, I decided to let free the reader to play with them too. I assigned a colour to each game through a coloured square and tried to give the

book a visual rythm creating an optical game with the movement of colours. The layout of the book follows a grid based on the horizontal and vertical movements in order to the position of the title of each game in the book index and in its own chapter. A pencil tied to the book spine with a coloured thread permits the reader to write, draw or rewrite the rules of the games.
