What Sets A Brand Apart?

Tyler and Shawna Field both grew up in service-oriented families with parents that chose careers as a high school teacher and coach, nurse, and minister. Tyler previously worked in the insurance industry, and Shawna had experience as a registered dietitian for long-term care facilities. In planning their careers, they were both seeking positions in which they could serve their community at a much deeper level. Assisting their communities was an important aspect of their childhood upbringing, and they wanted to raise their four children by instilling those same values.

In most communities there are opportunities to care for patients and their families. The Fields felt they not only had the desire to provide for residents, but also wanted to help create jobs locally. It is the very thing that drove them to open their franchise – Assisting Hands Home Care.

The Fields shared some valuable insights about their experience with Assisting Hands and the joys of owning their own franchise.

Juggling our personal schedule with the never-ending needs of our clients and caregivers can be a bit of a challenge at times. It is due in part to the fact that providing healthcare is endless. People have valid, critical (and usually unexpected) needs at all hours of the day. Fortunately for us, we have found trustworthy and skilled internal employees that are willing and able to meet these requirements so that no needs ever fall to the wayside. We really enjoy employing people from our community. It is part of the reason we wanted to open our own business.

We chose to franchise because we felt we needed the training, support, and reputation that the Assisting Hands franchise program offers.

The company outshines their competition with their incredible support and thorough training of what you need to know before ever opening the doors.

We also knew that franchise businesses have a higher rate of success over individually-owned businesses. That is exactly what helped us make our choice when becoming an Assisting Hands franchisee.

One of the best parts of owning a franchise is the amazing people we have met – both clients and caregivers. Many of our caregivers feel their profession is a calling, a “responsibility” or “duty,” and they pour their hearts into their work. So often they put their personal needs aside and work tirelessly to meet the physical, emotional, and sometimes spiritual needs of their clients. Many of our clients have had amazing lives – serving in wartime, working in the early days of space exploration (we live in Brevard County, aka The Space Coast), traveling the world, caring for disabled children, running their own businesses, etc. Through the opportunity to meet and get to know these individuals, we feel we have learned and grown in so many ways.

We strive to create a positive work environment in which all employees are valued and respected. We believe employees that are well cared for will in turn care well for their clients. Owning a franchise is so rewarding for all involved – more than you could ever imagine. Owning an Assisting Hands Home Care franchise empowers you to care for your community and to be well-equipped for success!
