My New Year's resolution for Key Club is to encourage more underclassmen to attend service and social events. I want them feel comfortable and be more than just a member in our Key Club family. December offers a ton of chances to participate in social and community events, such as caroling, a talent show, the annual Rose Float Decorating, ect. This time of year is full of excitement and opportunities to give back to the community! I am really looking forward to this new year, so that we can stress more fun events for our members, and build bonds among our Key Club Family!

On December 6th, I participated in the Clothe the Children event held by the Huntington Beach Kiwanis. The event started at 6:30AM and ended around 9PM at a local Walmart store. When I got there, I met up with the division and greeted my friends. It was fun to see everyone ready to help out under-privileged kids early in the morning. We then split into groups and were assigned a group of children. The man who was in charge gave us $100 dollars to buy whatever the kids wanted. We learned the kids' names and became their new friends! They loved talking to us and telling us what they were interested in. We strolled through the toy section and clothe section multiple times until each child was satisfied with his/ her purchase. At the end of the event, the kids were sad to see us leave, but they were still happy for what we did for them. Overall, this event is something that I'll always remember and cherish because I was able to personally meet and help individuals. I hope we get to do this again next year! Kelton Do, Fountain Valley Clothe the Children was an amazing event where Key Clubbers were able to go shopping for under-privileged kids in the local area. It was nice to see a lot of familiar faces at the event, volunteering for a good cause. We started off the day waking up early, but we were given breakfast! We started lining up, and then we got into groups. Once we got to the front, our group was assigned a kid, and then we went shopping around for him. We were given a $100 gift card for Walmart, and we were instructed to buy him clothes that would make him warm during the winter. We went shopping, and got him many different clothes (shirts, thermals, jeans, sweaters, jackets, shoes, etc.) After this, we went through the aisles strolling for toys that our kid would want. It was an amazing experience being able to see his face light up after looking at all the toys in the row. In the end, we decided to get him a Lego Toy he picked out! Finally, we went to take him to Santa Claus. He was very happy to see him, and we took pictures with him. After we bought our merchandise, the child was very happy and thanked us. Andrew Nguyen, Fountain Valley

TRAINING CONFERENCE Candidate Training Conference was held on December 6th, 2014 at Rosary High School in Fullerton. At this conference, attendees were able to see behind the gold tie of what it takes to be a Lieutenant Governor, the struggles and as well as the rewards. It was an eye opener to many, including myself, to see the various tasks and deadlines that our LTGs must complete every month on a timely manner. Each workshop that was presented by two LTGs from region 3 and region 8 allowed potential candidates to decide whether or not they were ready to lead the division for the 2015-2016 Key Club year. There were roughly six workshops and after three workshops, each person was counted out for a breakout group. During this session, we were able to connect with the LTG on a more intimate level and to have any questions answered. After the second and final breakout session, each and every single person was placed in the center of the room to answer one caucus session before the day was concluded. Overall, Candidate Training Conference was a wonderful learning opportunity to experience. Tina Nguyen, Segerstrom Candidate Training Conference was truly an event that was unforgettable! During the event, we were exposed to all the duties and responsibilities that our Lieutenant Governors face everyday! We started off the day with icebreakers in order to introduce ourselves to the Key Clubbers from Region 3 and Region 8! It was nice seeing some familiar faces that I had met from Fall Rally! After that, we went through workshops and learned more about our duties! Two Lieutenant Governors hosted a workshop, and each focused on a certain section! It was interesting to see how all of the Regions worked geographically in our CNH District! We were also introduced to all the deadlines and the subtasks that our LTGs have to do, behind the scenes! During our breakout sections, we were assigned to a specific LTG, and we were able to ask them personal questions about how their term was like! I enjoyed learning so much at this event, and cherish the memories and knowledge I have gained from it! Frank Le, Mater Dei
