Surf City Marathon was a very delightful event. I handed water cups to runners; literally showering water on them. I achieved new friendships, and they were like the rainbows that appeared from the cup of water's streams. Even the sunlight reflected my delight. It was an amazing event where I could see people run for amazing causes, and dress up in very funky costumes. I really liked the tasty food at the event. I tasted some of the power gel in my mouth and it felt mushy, kind of like the mushy feeling I get when I see the runners complete their marathon/halfmarathon. Tam Nguyen, Edison Recently, Key Club members had gotten the opportunity to take part in the Surf City Marathon and help encourage those who were participating in this event. Divided into groups, there were individual tasks that needed to be done. Whether it was to sign in runners, return their personal belongings or provide them water, each task has given us reasons to why serving our community is important. I had the duty to return all runners' personal properties but also tidy up after the marathon was over. In this personal experience of mine, I can truly say it gave me happiness and a better understanding of communication with others. I achieved many new friendships with other key club members because of the inspiration key club had presented to me. Sidney Mai, Fountain Valley Surf City Marathon was an amazing experience for me. Surf City had been my first Key Club event ever and coming back brought back memories for me. I worked the VIP shirt where I worked with those who were Beach Club Members. I worked from an early five in morning to around ten. I spent my time there helping take out the trash and making sure the area was clean for the runners. After working for about two hours, I was rewarded with a buffet breakfast with eggs, bacon, and sausages which I was able to enjoy, as well as being able to watch the start of the race. All in all, Surf City was an awesome experience for me. Albert Ton, Fountain Valley
