OPINION
Let’s getonethingout ofthe wayrightoffthe bat: TheUnitedStatesof America is nota perfect country.
Sure, the U.S.has problems. Some ofthem, bigones.
But what country doesn’t?
As the presidential electionapproaches in November, wewill getanearfulaboutthe problems facingour country. Politicians onboth sideswillbe directing ourattentionto
thebiggest challenges, the biggestcrises, thebiggest difficultiesinAmerica today–withanunderlying motive of tellingushow andwhy THEIR candidate isthe onewhocanfixit all. There’s atimeanda place forexamining what’swrongandhow we canmakeitbetter.Of coursethereis. ButwithIndependence Dayonourcalendars for tomorrow, we’dliketo focusontheother side ofthecoin. We arein the middleof the most patriotictimeofthe year. MemorialDay, Flag Dayand Juneteenthare inthe rearview, andfanfavorite Fourth of July isright on topofus. If youhaven’tunfurled your flag, strungupthe
buntingorpurchased fireworks yet–well, now is thetime.Weare loving seeing the countydraped in red, whiteand blue. We hope you’retaking thistimeto have –and show– prideinour country and honor everythingit hastaken to bring us tothispoint. We live in agreat country, filledwith
blessingsand assetsthat peopleinmany countries canonlydreamof. Despitethe negatives, we have so manypositives we canbeproud of. We have amazingfreedoms, amazingopportunities, amazingprosperity. Let’snotneglect to embrace apatriotic spirit thissummer.Beproud to be anAmerican.
