TheAlabamaLaw EnforcementAgency reported asingle-vehicle crashinvolvinganall-terrainvehicle(ATV)occurred atapproximately5:30 p.m. August 6has claimedthe lifeof aRussellville woman, SavannahL.Hall,38, who wasfatallyinjured when the2007Honda Recon ATV she wasoperating overturned.

Hall wasthrownfrom the ATVandpronounced deceased at thescene.The crashoccurredonLost CreekRd.near Franklin County84, approximately 10mileswestof Russellville, in FranklinCounty. RPD reportstwo arrestedfollowinghigh-speed chaseinstolen car

TheRussellville Police Department reportedan early morningarrest Aug. 7oftwo peopleaftera high-speed chasein acar laterdeterminedtobestolen. Russellville Policesaid nightshiftpatrolofficers located asuspicious vehiclenear aclosed business, notingafteranofficer attemptedtomakecontact, thedriversped away from the businessandcommittedseveraltrafficviolationsto getaway. TheRPDsaiditsofficers initiated avehiclepursuit thatreachedspeedsof110 milesperhourandextendedintoColbertCounty, endingneartheintersectionofUS-72and Wilson DamRd.

Fromthere, thetwo occupants fledon foot. After ashortfootpursuit andsearch,bothoccupants were takenintocustody. It wasalsodiscoveredthat the vehicle wasstolenout of anearbyjurisdiction. CassieBrooke CummingsandMichael AndrewHarrisonare both chargedwith: •ReceivingStolen

Jacksonreportedthat AERAanditsmembers willcontinuethepositive momentumand political conversation regarding financialhelp forthe retirees.Shethanked those members who attended the“Retiree RallyDay,”and thebig legislative noisemadein Montgomery.Hopefully, thenextlegislative session will addresstheEducation

Retiree Trust Fund, retiree bonusesand Cost of LivingAdjustment. AERAmembers were commended fortheir volunteer hours reported forthe 2023 AERA Community Service Project.The total number ofcommunity hours reported statewide was 512,875.50hours.The value ofone hourof volunteer work is equivalentto$31.80 an hour intheindependent sector.Thisamount translatesto atotaldollar value of $16,309,536.30 whichrepresentsan increaseof $4,158,491.85 fromlastyear.Itwas reportedthatafacsimile checkwaspresented at the annualmeetingheld May 7inMontgomery.
