CHILDREN’S FIESTA

JAZZ IN THE PARK

Held in Samson Park, this is a much loved event for under 12s. The day features a host of hands-on activities, as well as heaps of fun things to do and see. The Fiesta is set in one of Fremantle’s most beautiful parks, which is the last remnant of natural bush within the City’s boundaries. It’s a great day out for families with children.

Vocalist and songwriter Shameem enchants her audiences with her heartfelt, personal stories and spiritual influences in her songs. Born in Australia to a Chinese-Malaysian father and an Iranian mother has influenced Shameem’s distinctive eclectic approach to music. Her unique fusion of 90s R&B grooves with the melodic sensibility of 70s soul and a subtle twist of jazz has seen her frequently compared to such artists as Alicia Keys, Sade and Michael Jackson.

Performances from Ani-K, Twinkle Stars dancers, Johhno B Biscuit, Eco Fairies, Classical Dance Studio and Gwendolyns Dance Party. Keep an eye out for Pirateman Michael, Mermaids Jess and Amelia will be frolicking, Thurtinkles storytelling, a bug hunt, balloons by Renzo, plaster painting, climbing wall and water slide!

An apocalyptic love-story about two ex-lovers reconnecting with very little time left and a lot of gaps to fill in. A theatrical exploration of what happens after a relationship and how to move on from there.

Site Specific Theatre at its Best. The Car Project is a series of intimate ten-minute plays, each taking place in one of four parked cars. Audience members move from vehicle to vehicle to experience works by different playwrights from Stages, WA Play Writing Group. The audience of three is ushered into car seats, the doors close, and the drama unfolds just a seat away from the actors. Ten minutes later, the doors open, a new car awaits and a fresh play begins.
