Meet our amazing Interior Design Team, with a combined 39+ years of experience! Jenn Breunig With us for 12 years, Jenn has been involved with just about every type of remodeling project out there! She has a virtual warehouse of experience: part of three award-winning projects, named “Contractor of the Year” (COTY) by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), skillfully trained in Chief Architect and 20/20 Design Software, and certified through the National Kitchen and Bathroom Association (NKBA). In her free time, she loves traveling, spends time on Lake Wisconsin, and participates in a variety of sports, sometimes coaching her daughter, Savannah, and son, Dalton. Also a Realtor for Nth Degree in Sauk City, Jenn feels wearing both designer and realtor hats has provided her with insight to help people who are pondering whether to remodel or purchase a new home. Jenn says “Re-designing kitchen layouts are my favorites—nothing is better than coming up with options that a customer never thought possible! And then, narrowing down options, selecting all the fun finishes, and seeing the final result that leaves them delighted!”
Jeanne Panucci Part of our design team for almost two years, before that Jeanne ran her own interior design firm. While she always wanted to be a designer, math and science were her initial choices, and she taught high school math for many years. She came to the design field a little later in life, and five years ago added a degree in Interior Design to earlier degrees in Economics and Mathematics. We’re glad Jeanne listened to her heart, and hasn’t looked back! She is excited to work every day to help homeowners design functional and beautiful spaces! In her free time, Jeanne likes to travel, read, and hike. Jeanne says “My greatest pleasure is seeing the finished space with Clients and knowing that I helped them achieve their dreams.”
Rachael Harrison Relatively new to our design team, Rachael joined us in 2016. With four years of design experience, she has an associate degree in Interior Design, and a strong emphasis in the kitchen and bath industry. Rachael is a rock star in detailed planning and a great communicator. She works hard to make sure all the details are executed as planned. In her free time she enjoys taking her new puppy, Beaumont to the dog park. Rachel says “I love making design projects come to life.”
Julie Schultz The newest member of our design team has a degree in Interior Design and 18+ years of experience in the building and remodeling industry. She knows it’s vital to listen to the Client’s vision for a space, and that this collaboration and planning are key. Success means end results that are within the Client’s budget and spaces where Clients are delighted to spend their time. Julie and her husband enjoy activities with their two sons, Kade and Logan, often at their sporting events. Julie’s hobbies include antiquing, reading, cooking, and gardening with the help of dog Cooper! Julie says “I enjoy helping Clients create homes or spaces that are a reflection of who they are and how they like to live.”
Six Thanksgiving Shortcuts to Save Your Sanity For some people, Thanksgiving is about much more than giving thanks, eating turkey, watching football, or upholding family traditions— it’s also about running around the house in a frenzied panic, trying to set the table, tidy the bathroom, and cook five side dishes at once, all while keeping a twitching, bloodshot eye on the turkey. These people are called hosts, and they stress out and exhaust themselves every year just to make sure their loved ones have a pleasant, satisfying Thanksgiving meal. But what about the brave soldiers who accept the terrifying challenge to host such an anticipated and pressure-filled event? Shouldn’t you get to enjoy the holiday as well? If you’re the host this year, try incorporating a few helpful shortcuts into your routine; before you know it, you’ll be throwing off your apron and joining the crowd in the living room. 1. Grocery shop in advance. Having both a finalized head count and menu at least a week before the big day is crucial. That way you know how much food to prepare and what to get at the grocery store. Be sure to buy the non-perishable items before holiday shopping madness begins. (Don’t forget to make room in the fridge!) The last place you want to be on Thanksgiving morning is in the grocery aisle, fighting the other procrastinators for the last can of pumpkin. First, check the cabinets to see what you already have; there’s no need to stock up on cinnamon and dried herbs if you already have some in your pantry. If your pantry items are more than a year old, however, it might be time to chuck them. The only things you shouldn’t buy too far ahead are salad greens, fresh herbs, and other ingredients that might go bad quickly. 2. Hand out assignments. As nice as it is to prepare a big feast for friends and family, sometimes it’s just not in the budget, money- or time-wise. There’s no shame in asking for a little help—it’s called Thanksgiving, not Thankstaking, which means that everyone should be happy to pitch in. Plus, it gives guests a chance to share their favorite dishes and try new ones as well. Alternately, you could ask each person to bring a specific item, rather than risk a tableful of multiple sweet potato casseroles or your aunt’s gag-inducing Jello-mayonnaise “salad.” Along with handing out menu assignments, offer a few recipes to give your guests a place to start. Duties can extend beyond side dishes, too. Ask some members of the dining party to help out in the kitchen on the day of, either as a chef sidekick (even cooking novices can chop veggies), or as the person who organizes ingredients or cleans dirty dishes. 3. Prepare the house the night before. Don’t leave cleaning tasks to the day of—there’s already enough to worry about. Tidy up the bathroom and common areas the night before. Launder all towels and linens, including the tablecloth and napkins for Thanksgiving. After they’re laundered, put them on the table; then break out the plates, glasses, and utensils you’re planning to use, as well. Setting the table the night before buys you that much more free time the next day.
4. Prepare as much food as you can the night—or days—before. There are big shortcuts you can take, like cleaning the salad greens or chopping up all the necessary veggies beforehand. (The French call it mise en place.) And many savvy hosts employ even bigger, more impactful shortcuts, such as preparing entire dishes a day or two ahead. Stuffings and casseroles actually taste better when they’re made a few days in advance because their flavors have more time to blend. Gravy, turkey stock, cranberry sauce, pies, and dips don’t need to be made the day of, either. Mashed potatoes are a little iffier; people often report mixed results from reheating them. Try using a slow cooker and add cream and butter before serving. Take anything made in advance out of the fridge on Thanksgiving morning and let it reach room temperature. The turkey needs to rest about twenty minutes prior to carving anyway, use that time to heat side dishes in the oven or microwave. 5. Don’t be afraid to go store-bought. Everyone assumes homemade is always best, but some things are worth buying pre-made. With store-bought cranberry sauce, desserts, and dinner rolls, guests might not even be able to tell the difference. And, it’s easy to add homemade touches to these dishes—sprinkle orange zest on the cranberry sauce, spice up the pies with some cinnamon and nutmeg, or whip up some herbed butter for the rolls. Gussy-up boxed instant mashed potatoes with fresh herbs, or add dried fruit and fresh vegetables to premade stuffing. 6. Buy two smaller turkeys instead, then bag them. Sure, setting a giant, glistening roasted turkey on the table adds an especially momentous touch to the occasion. But smaller turkeys tend to be more tender and easier to cook evenly. Do you even need a giant turkey? Not if you’re serving only a handful of people. Estimate that you’ll need about one pound of turkey per person, and buy accordingly. Oven bags are time-savers as well. You can skip hours of basting by using plastic roasting bags. Once you’ve put the bird in the bag, rub it down with a stick of butter, add herbs and other seasonings, and then close the bag and roast for a few hours.
It’s easy to avoid spending Thanksgiving in a perpetual state of stress if you go into the day with a plan of attack—especially if the foundation of your plan is doing as much as possible ahead of time. That way, once the big day rolls around, you can spend less time sweating in the kitchen and more time enjoying the company of your loved ones, preferably with a cocktail in hand and your feet on the table. Doesn’t that sound like something to be thankful for?

Your prices may be a little higher than the competition, however, the overall experience from start to completion makes up for the price. Guess you still get what you pay for! Keep on keeping on. The two work persons that installed our windows were more than pleasant to work with. Very satisfied once again. Thank you.” ~Richard & Dorothy Kausler, Prairie du Sac (Windows, August 2017) “[I chose to contract with you because] I checked around and heard good things about Frey. “[I chose to contract with you because] of your reviews and being an elite GAF contractor. I am extremely happy with the work your company does. Will was an excellent sales rep. After talking with him in length and checking other companies, I chose Frey Construction based on the reviews of the workmanship even though your price was higher. The “Welcome to our Remodeling Family” letter was an outstanding explanation on what we needed to do prior and what to expect during the process. Tammy was excellent at relaying my questions and concerns to the proper personnel. At the start of my project, the plywood was delivered by Frey. The men that delivered the dumpster placed the plywood strategically to protect the driveway. At the start of the roofing job, tarp was placed to protect plants around the house. Removal of the old shingles went very quickly. The crew that delivered new shingles and materials took care as to not damage the new part of my driveway. Everything went smoothly. Site manager, John, did a tremendous job with the skylights, saddle, diverters, flashing, siding removal and replacement, and keeping his team organized. They worked from 7am-9pm and then came back the next day to finish some odds and ends. One gentleman went to great lengths to make sure all the old materials were picked up. I found very little in the way of scraps or nails in my lawn when the project was finished. It was a wow moment when 2 school bus type vehicles showed up to do the fascia and gutters. Jerry, Aaron, and Jason were tremendous. They were very conscientious of the work they did and all went smoothly. Again, workmanship and professionalism is what made this experience outstanding. Knowing I have a reputable company to contact should I have any concerns is very reassuring. It was greatly appreciated that the owner stopped on the 1st day to make sure everything was running smoothly. Everyone went above and beyond to make this a pleasant experience. I will definitely recommend Frey Construction. “It’s not the shingles you buy, it’s the contractor you hire to do the job.”” ~Phil & Kathy Weisensel, Sun Prairie (Roof, Gutters, Skylights, & Fascia, August 2017)
