EDITOR’S NOTE Wow, it is hard to believe that the season has come to an end. Each year it seems to go by faster, must be because of all the fun! At the end of each season I tell myself I am going to take two months off of riding and give myself time to get that itch to ride and race again. It is hard to not get burned out after nine months of racing, loading up the camper, driving to the races and getting the bikes prepped during the week. I think I will spend my days hanging by the pool, spending time with my “non-moto” buddies and
just trying to stay cool in this wicked Florida heat. Soon enough I will be back at Croom, trying my best to navigate through the sandy, whooped out trails that for some odd reason I love riding. I am curious to see what all the other members have planned for this summer break? Be sure to email me any photos or stories you would like to share! Thank you, Kurt Lucas ftreditor@floridatrailriders. org

PREZ SAYS Friday morning or sometimes on Thursday evening to get a jump on coordinating and planning for the weekend’s event.
Season well done As we wind down our season, I would like to reflect back on yet another stellar year of competition and epic family time as we get ready for the big event in July. Let me remind everyone now, party time is July 24 at the Doubletree by Hilton in Orlando. Just a word of caution, being we had to cancel last year’s awards banquet because of you know what, do not wait until the last minute to reserve your tickets as we will sell out this year. Tickets go on sale May 15 through July 3rd, No tickets will be sold after July 3rd! As everyone I hope knows by now, our events just “do not happen” by themselves. Starting off with the clubs and their members, it takes thousands of hours and many months of preparation to host an event just for us to circle the wagons for a short two day weekend. The unselfishness and determination from all involved is a testament for the love of our sport. Not only from the clubs, but our volunteers that show up on
I know you have heard me say this numerous times but I can’t say it enough, FTR and its members are so very fortunate to have these folks helping make our weekend the best it can be. From our first class safety/medical crew, our super organized tech crew, the one man show starting crew and all the other behind the scene guys and gals that make these weekends happen, THANK YOU for a job well done! Our FTR and AMA sign up crew, scoring and membership personnel are also part of the team that makes the events run smoothly, job well done here also. Along with the contingency programs from all the manufacturers, we also are very fortunate and proud to have some major supporters in the industry on board also. MOOSE RACING is a huge supporter of our series and will be back for several more seasons as one that supports the sport. The Moose racing brand has deep roots in the off road world and provides a superior product. FMF came on board this year and what more can you say about the best exhaust system out there! These guys have been building systems since 1973 and have always been involved in offroad from the beginning. ENGINE ICE, the # 1 Powersports Coolant has been around for
JUNE 2021
about 20 years and provides a superior product by using the best ingredients. ROCKY MOUNTAIN ATV/MC and their Race Gas program is also a win/ win with our members which offers a cash account credit gift card. Next time you need products for your two or four wheel machine, support those who support us. Any of our local shops can provide you with parts and accessories needed from any of these fine companies. Also, a big Thanks to Central Florida Powersports, Palmetto Motorsports and WMR for always stepping up and supporting FTR in so many ways. As you can see there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes that makes the wheels turn and every little part is a link in the chain that makes the wheels turn. Last but not least are all the volunteers that make up the committees and chairmen that propose rules that make the FTR one well run organization. We have a lot of good things going for us and the future has some new things coming that will make it even better. Let’s look into the next season with enthusiasm and a positive attitude as great things will be happening. Thanks for listening Your president, Randy Faul

CHAPLAIN’S CORNER Betty and I live on the beach. It is so awesome to see the families, especially the kids, playing in the ocean, cooking out and just enjoying “island time” together. No restraint, no 6 feet separations, no masks!! Starting Line to Checkered Flag… “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7 Restoration, Freedom, Celebration! What a difference a year can make! People are out and about enjoying life, their families and friends, together! Are lives have been restored. We are back to our original, normal condition. In other words, where we should be. As I write this it’s Memorial Day weekend. We honor those who paid the ultimate price so we can have our freedom. The dictionary defines freedom as “the condition of not being in prison or captivity”.
We see the happiness on their faces as we pass by on our walks on the beach; truly a celebration, a time of festivity and rejoicing. It is heart-warming and wonderful to see and be part of. When we trust in Jesus as our Lord and best friend, we too are restored. God’s perfect plan to bring us back to Him required our sins to be washed away. Jesus died and paid the ultimate cost for our sins. Through His love and grace, we are restored to God in full relationship with Him; just as He always wanted. 2 Corinthians states it this way, “God put the world square with himself through the Messiah (Jesus), giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins.” That forgiveness, the removal of our sins, gives us freedom. In John 34-38 “Jesus said, “I tell

you most solemnly that anyone who chooses a life of sin is trapped in a dead-end life and is, in fact, a slave. A slave can’t come and go at will. The Son, though, has an established position, the run of the house. So, if the Son sets you free, you are free through and through.” Which certainly gives us cause to celebrate! Luke 15:24 talks of a father whose son turned his back on his family. When he returned, his father forgave him and stated,” My son is here— given up for dead and now alive! Given up for lost and now found!’ All of heaven rejoices and celebrates when someone who is lost finds that personal relationship with Jesus. You can too! “The Good Race” joy service will continue every Saturday night from 7:30 to 7:45 pm during the season. Blessings on and off the road, Jim and Betty Edleston CMA
