ACS Facilitator Trainer Course at BLM, Bldg. 1541 (Open to all participants who have completed the Instructor Trainer Course.) Mastering Money Management

All Workshops below take place at ACS, unless otherwise noted. Post Deployment BATTLEMIND for Spouses Dec. 2, 1 to 2:30 p.m. Identify common areas of deployment and related issues/concerns that spouses and Soldiers may experience. Adults Working Together in Families Dec. 3, 1 to 2:30 p.m. Learn communication tips, conflict resolution, and other ways to strengthen your marriage. Children and Reunion Dec. 8, 1 to 2:30 p.m. Discussions will focus on how children react to reunion and understanding the excitement and stress that accompanies homecoming. Anger Management from Combat to Home Dec. 10, 1 to 2:30 p.m. Identify what anger is and how it is trigger. This training also identifies how combat skills can result in anger and aggression when at home and how to manage it. Budgeting and Debt Reduction Wednesday, December 16 6:30 – 8 p.m. Learn about financial recordkeeping, setting goals, developing a budget, and paying off debt. Saving and Investing and Thrift Savings Plan Wednesday, December 23 9:30-11 a.m. Discuss reasons for saving and investing. Plan for the future and learn how your money can work for you. Winter Ice Fishing State Fishing License is Dec. 19 | 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. required Participants: Max: 9 Min: 3 $65 per person. Join the Outdoor Recreation Team for a little ice fishing in our interior lakes. We will provide transportation, rod & reel, bait, ice fishing hut with wood stove and the know-how to get you started. If the temperature drops below -20 degrees, we will postpone to a warmer day.

Dec. 5 & 12 | 9 am. Participants: 20 Max. | Age: 18 & older $10 per person This safety course promotes responsibility while snowmachining. An informative class is followed by a hands-on practical demonstration on the operation of the machine. Participants will be issued a Snowmachine Safety Card at the conclusion of the course.

The White Mountains Dec. 26 | 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Participants: Max: 6 Min: 3 $75 per person Take a snowmachine run with the Outdoor Adventure Team to the White Mountains National Recreation Area. Trip departs at 8:30 am. Transportation, snowmachines and helmets will be provided. Bring your lunch, drinks, and cold weather clothing.

Indoor Rock Climbing at Melaven Gym Dec. 5 & 12 | 1:00 p.m. Participants: Min: 2 Max: 12 Age: 7 and older | Must be 15 or older for belay training | $7 per person. Climbing is a great mental and physical challenge, a great family fun activity for those cold winter weekends!

Cross Country Skiing Lessons

Date and Time: Arrange with Instructor Participants: Max: 4 Age: 10 & older $25 per person. These courses are a great introduction to cross country skiing for individuals or the family with the convenience of a time that works for you! Lessons are offered all winter long and equipment is provided. Sessions run between 45 minutes and an hour. If the temperature hits below -10, lessons will be postponed to a warmer date.

Maclaren River Lodge Dec. 31 to Jan. 2 8 am. To 5 p.m. (Must register by Dec. 14) Participants: Max: 6 Min: 4 $275 per person. Outdoor Recreation is making two holiday trips this year to Maclaren. The first will ring in the New Year and the second for Presidents Day weekend. This is the perfect getaway and a truly Alaskan experience. This program is weather dependent subject to blizzards, white-out conditions, and extreme temperatures. Outdoor Recreation will provide transportation, lodging, meals, snowmachines and helmets. You must bring warm boots, cold weather clothing, hand/foot warmers, and a good pair of gloves. o o o o
