Tell Me a Story: Making Connections and Finding Support through Literature is an initiative that was created to empower our military children by using literature and their own stories. Tell Me A Story is geared toward children ages 4-12. Each family will receive a copy of the book read by the guest speaker. Hands-on activities, snacks, and a fun learning experience will be provided! Reserve your space today.

Library Fort Wainwright

The Library will be CLOSED for renovations from . February 1st until March 8th and will reopen on Tuesday, March 9th. Minimal services will be provided during renovations: patrons can return library materials using the curbside return or the drop boxes, and library staff will be available Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for Soldiers needing to clear the library to out-process. Snowmachine Safety Course

Feb. 6 | 9 a.m. Participants: 20 Max. | Age: 18 & older $10 per person This safety course promotes responsibility while snowmachining. An informative class is followed by a hands-on practical demonstration on the operation of the machine. Participants will be issued a Snowmachine Safety Card at the conclusion of the course.

Indoor Rock Climbing at Melaven PFC* Feb. 6 | 1 to 3 p.m. Weds. Feb. 3, 10, 17, 24 | 5 to 7 p.m. Participants: Min: 2 | Max: 12 Age: 7 and older | Must be 15 or older for belay training | $5 per person. Climbing is a great mental and physical challenge, a great Family fun activity for those cold winter weekends!

* Youth under age 18 must pay the fee and be accompanied by a paying adult. Cross Country Skiing Lessons*

Date and Time: To schedule, call 361-6349. Participants: Max: 4 Age: 10 & older $25 per person. An introduction to cross country skiing for individuals or the Family with the convenience of a time that works for you! Lessons offered all winter land equipment is provided. Sessions run between 45 minutes and an hour. If the temperature falls below -10, lessons will be postponed to a warmer date.

February 10 CDC I Bldg. 4024 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Learn how to soothe your fussy baby in five minutes or less at the Cuddle Cure Class. This two hour class is recommended for pregnant women, couples, parents, grandparents, child care providers or anyone who has interest in the well being of infants from birth to 3 months of age. Topics covered are: > the joys and challenges of becoming a new parent > what to expect from your new baby > the importance of feeding your baby > the reasons why babies cry, definition of colic > the missing 4th tri-mester and 5 steps to calming your baby Participants will receive a Parent Kit which includes: a swaddling blanket, The Happiest Baby on the Block DVD and a soothing sounds CD.
