PFC Sports Complex is located at the high traffic corner of Alder & Meridian Roads. The ice rink serviced about 40,000 visitors from the local community for skating lessons, recreation skate, intramural sports, and league hockey. Advertisement term is 12 months. Ice rink closed May through September. Advertiser provides banner wtih wind vents and grommets, and camera ready artwork for Family and MWR to provide dasher board. Family and MWR can provide banner for an additional cost of $400.

Youth sport fields are located in a high traffic area at Fort Wainwright, Engineer Park along Gaffney Road. This visible location will reach Soldiers, Families, Retirees, Civilians, and contractors at Fort Wainwright. Advertisement term is 12 months. Installation is May through September only. This all-age recreation facility features 32 bowling lanes, pool table, arcade, conference and party rooms, Motherlode Cafe, and Gold Rush Adult Lounge. This Family event begins with the lighting of the Post Holiday Tree. We offer many holiday activities including pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus, various children’s games, family building activities, free ice skating, performances, and other entertainment. MARCH MADNESS estimated attendance: 5,000

This annual three-day event features an Alaskan twist on winter sports! Participants and spectators from the local community join us for this Family-friendly event filled with numerous all-age activities at the Birch Hill Ski and Snowboard Area. Customizable partnership opportunities include day sponsorships, activity sponsorships, as well as a variety of other opportunities.


FREEDOM FEST 2013 estimated attendance: 5,000

This all-age community celebration includes a variety of activities including the 3rd Annual Battle of the Bands, Family Fun Run, and 2nd Annual Motorcycle Freedom Ride for Awareness to honor our Soldiers, Families, Retirees and Civilians at Fort Wainwright and surrounding communities.

LIBRARY READING PROGRAMS estimated participation: 2,300

These exciting educational programs engage both children and adults. A major goal of the Reading Programs is to increase literacy and comprehension levels as well as vocabulary, socialization skills, and self-discipline! The 2012 Children’s Reading Program had almost 2,300 children, while the winter Cabin Fever Reading Program included over 150 adult participants. The Library also hosts educational experiences such as Story Hour, Multi-cultural Hour, Read Across Alaska, and Read Across America.

MONTH OF THE MILITARY CHILD EVENT estimated participation: 1,000

This special celebration is a legacy of former Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger – established to underscore the important role children play in the Armed Forces community. Our Dr. Seuss themed event will recognize and applaud Families and their children for the daily sacrifices for they make in supporting America’s Army. We will feature various children’s activities, and a performer to entertain our community.

MILITARY SPOUSE APPRECIATION estimated attendance: 250

The life of a military Family is one of unique challenges which Spouses continue to meet with grace and strength. We will celebrate the significant contributions of our Spouses with a memorable event. The theme will be an Alaskan Adventure where we featured many outdoor activities, camping tricks, tools of the trade, Alaskan fashion show, and lunch.


SOLDIER AND FAMILY OPPORTUNITIES NEWCOMERS ORIENTATION INFORMATION FAIR 3 months................................................................... $350 12 months ............................................................... $1,000

Maximize your investment today and associate your brand with the strength of the U.S. Army! Every new Active-duty Soldier ranked 0-6 and below must attend this event within 30 days of arrival at Fort Wainwright. Family members, and Civilian employees are also strongly encouraged to attend. With direct access to new Army Soldiers, Families, Retirees, and Civilians, you can enhance your current marketing efforts and cross-market your brand with Army lifestyle trends to help shape brand preferences. You will receive one reserved six-foot table in a premiere location at the Information Fair.

ARMY FAMILY ACTION PLAN estimated participants: 240

The Army Family Action Plan (AFAP) is input from the people of the Army to Army leadership. It’s a process that allows Soldiers and Families say what’s working, and what isn’t - and what they think will fix it. AFAP alerts commanders and Army leaders to areas of concern that need their attention, and it gives them the opportunity to quickly put plans into place to work toward resolving the issues. The 2013 conference will be held during the month of November, and there will be numerous working groups throughout the year to improve the quality of life for the Army Community.

FUN RUNS, estimated attendance: 125

Two summer Family running events are hosted to promote health and fitness, camaraderie among Soldiers and a healthy competition for all participants. Sponsors can engage with the Army Community to cross promote their brand by providing prizes, trophies/medals, race recovery food and/or beverages.

MUD RUNS, estimated attendance: 150

There will be two Mud Run events during Summer 2013 to promote community health and fitness. Sponsors can cross promote their brand with these high-impact, high-adrenaline rush events by providing giveaway items, prizes, trophies/medals, race recovery food and/or beverages.


ADDITIONAL PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES BOSS PROGRAM

The Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers Program is comprised of a BOSS Council of Soldier Representatives who work directly with the Garrison Command Sergeant Major to enhance their Alaskan experience for all single Soldiers, unaccompanied Soldiers, and single parents. The Fort Wainwright BOSS Program supports the overall quality of life for the installation focusing on three core components: Quality of Life, Recreation and Leisure Activities, and Community Service.

INTRAMURAL SPORTS PROGRAM

Installation Army Sports programs provide Soldiers an opportunity to participate in a full range of individual and team sports. Emphasis is placed on unit participation at the intramural level - with instruction, practice and competition planned for all skill levels. Through interesting, challenging, and enjoyable individual and team sports, Installation Sports programs enhance group morale and the development of a high state of mental and physical well being; assists in the development of the vital assets of teamwork and the will to win, confidence, and aggressiveness; and compliments the required unit physical training program.

LAST FRONTIER COMMUNITY ACTIVITY CENTER

This community activity center features many all-age amenities including a Family gym, in-door playground, ballroom, laser tag arena, arcade, ballroom, various meeting rooms, and computer lab. There is also a Shoppette and Bubbly Brew restaurant. Quarterly Family events include a Salsa Competition, Chili Cook-off, Gingerbread Houses, and an Ice cream celebration.

NUGGET LANES BOWLING CENTER This recently renovated all-age recreation facility features 32 bowling lanes, pool table, arcade, conference and party rooms, Motherlode Cafe, and Gold Rush Adult Lounge. The Bowling Center hosts various events throughout the year including Operation Rising Star, Big Bowl Gig, Memorial Day Bowlout, Cosmic Bowling, as well as themed nights such as Open Mic Nights, Live Music. Some promotional events include Wild Wing Wednesday, and Wicked Wing Challenge.
