Act Out! Story time Theatre:

Tuesdays in July 2-3 p.m. at the Last Frontier Community Activity Center Come to the LFCAC for a theatrical experience for kids! July 8th: Today begins our first big adventure! The Library will hold tournaments to help prove your worthiness as a Knight, Princess or Magician! Choose your destiny. Your quest begins today!

July 15th: Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Calling all Knights! Princesses! Princes! Magicians and DRAGONS! We have a very hungry ogre who eats slime only. Come and make some Ogre food (i.e. slime). Now, you can’t get too close, so you’ll have to throw the food up to his mouth! We’ll also be playing a true medieval game-- bocce ball and have a Bouncy Castle, too!

July 22nd: Ready yourselves, friends! Wear your best court garb (costumes)...We have received word that the dragon will be flying to our village for a challenge! Join forces to defeat this brute then take comfort in the feast inside of the Vault of Knowledge! This grand faire will also include: jewelry-making, catapult-making, face-painting, make your own magic carpet AND...Behold the Tug of Will! And, the Paladin will come from the Fortress du Garrisone to bestow our mighty champions with knighthood.

In celebration of National Ice Cream Appreciation Day, the LFCAC will be giving away free ice cream to DoD cardholder dependants. Bring the kids on down for a free scoop of vanilla or chocolate ice cream and a variety of toppings to choose from. We will also blow up the bouncy house outside so you can burn off those extra calories. Spend the afternoon with us and beat the heat!

Wii Mario Kart

Dates: July 7, 21 Time: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Think you’re the fastest dragon on base? Can you whip them all with The Princess? Is Mario still the reigning king? Join us at the LFCAC from 5:30 -7:30 to see if you have what it takes to be the fastest Wii Kart racer at Fort Wainwright. Each night people will get one warm up race to limber up their fingers and then a single elimination tournament will commence. This is open to all age groups but parents make sure that your kids can play Wii and still have a good time.

This workshop provides an in depth look at the process of Emotion Coaching. It assists parents and caregivers in helping children understand and deal with their emotions in healthy ways. This two hour class will teach you how to calm outbursts (often in seconds), stop 60-90% of tantrums before they happen, and build a loving and respectful relationship with your young child that will last a lifetime.
