Conquering the Terrible Twos:

Never again feel powerless while your toddler screams and screams. Help has arrived! This two hour class will teach you how to calm outbursts (often in seconds), stop 60-90% of tantrums before they happen, and build a loving and respectful relationship with your young child that will last a lifetime. Participants will receive “The Happiest Toddler on the Block� DVD upon completion of the class. Classes will be held at the CDC I Bldg 4024. Family and MWR locally funds dividends to Units for the collective benefit of all unit members for off-duty morale, welfare and recreational purposes; all unit members must have the opportunity to participate in the activity supported with unit funds dividends. SNOW MACHINE SAFETY COURSE | Nov. 13 & 20 | 9 a.m.| ORC Price: $10 per person | Age: 18+ This course was created to promote snow machine Safety and responsibility while out on the trail. Class begins at 9 a.m. with an informative class followed by a hands-on practical on the operation of the machine. Participants will be issued a Snow machine Safety Card at the conclusion of the course. This course is required to rent snow machines from the Outdoor Recreation Center.

GEOCACHING IN FAIRBANKS | Nov. 6 | 1 p.m.| ORC Price: At No Cost | Age: 7+ (Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult) Now that you know the basics, it is time to go out into the local community and search for some hidden caches. This is a great way to see how geocaching really works. Geocaching is for everyone and makes a great family activity!

STILES CREEK SNOW MACHINE | Nov. 27 | 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. | ORC Price: $75 per snow machine driver, $10 for additional passenger (Only 1 passenger allowed per driver) Age: Drivers must be 18+ The ORC Staff will be making a Snow machine run to Stiles Creek in the Chena River State Recreation Area. We will provide transportation, snow machine and helmet. You bring your lunch, snacks, drinks and cold weather clothing. If the temperature drops below -10 degrees we will postpone to a warmer date. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!! Outdoor Recreation is seeking volunteer instructors for our outdoor programs. This includes our boating, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, X/C ski, fishing, tours, ATV and snow machine trips.
