Nuevo libro sobre léxico canario

El escritor teldense Julio César González Padrón, publicaba el pasado mes de abril un nuevo libro sobre el “léxico canario” que ha titulado: “LÉXICO CANARIO, EXPRESIONES Y NOMBRES ABORIGENES”

Esta nueva obra viene a ocupar la número 11 de las publicadas hasta entonces, donde toca todos los palos de la literatura, desde narrativa, pasando por cuentos, novela histórica, poesía, relatos, guías históricas y tratados sobre el léxico canario.
En esta ocasión y como ya ocurrió con su primer Tratado sobre el “léxico canario” huye de la clásica confección de un “diccionario” al uso, intentando ofrecernos una lectura amena, sencilla y divertida, pues con sus muchos ejemplos que nos proporciona al terminar el significado del vocablo, nos transporta a nuestra niñez y a como en realidad hablamos los canarios de las 8 Islas, con sus particularidades.
Este nuevo tratado, bien podría ser una tercera edición de su anterior ¿Quién sos tú?, que tanto éxito ha tenido en Canarias, Hispanoamérica y Madrid y que en la actualidad, se encuentra agotado o a punto de agotarse.
New book on Canarian Vocabulary

The writer from Telde (Gran Canaria), Julio César González Padrón, published, in April, a new book on”Canarian vocabulary” called “Léxico canario, expresiones y nombres aborigenes” (Canarian vocabulary, expressions and native names”.
This new book is ranked in 11th place in all kinds of literature styles, such as narrative, historic novels, poetry, tales, historical guides and other books on Canarian vocabulary.
In this instance, and like for his first book on Canarian vocabulary, it isn’t made like a traditional dictionary. Indeed, it provides the reader with a pleasant, simple and entertaining reading, with examples at the end of each description that take us back to our childhood and since it is about all eight islands, there are many peculiarities.
This new book could be a third edition of the previous one “Quien sos tu ?”, which has had a lot of success in the Canaries, South America and Madrid, and is currently out of stock.
This time, the author has added more than one hundred words, but the main difference with his other books, is that he also added a multitude of authentic native Canarian names. Also, in addition to the explanations on each of them, he explained who exactly it was, and which was their occupation, or which island and village they came from. He also added anecdotes about each of them.
In another chapter, he gives details for each island, of how the conquerors, especially the Normans and Spanish, saw the populations of the different islands,including their habits and physical characteristics. Indeed, although they all came from Northern Africa, it is such a large area, from Algeria, the frontier with Egypt, until the north of Mauritania, that they were different populations, who also spoke their own language, although Berber was the base for them all.
En esta ocasión el autor. La enriquece en más de cien nuevos vocablos; pero lo que la diferencia de los otros Tratados por él publicados, es que en éste, añade un sinfín de nombres auténticamente aborígenes canarios, pero además explicando uno a uno, de que personaje se trata. Profesión, isla o localidad a la que pertenecía. Así como, alguna anécdota sobre ellos en particular. En otro capítulo, da detalles Isla por Isla de la precepción que los conquistadores, especialmente normandos y castellanos, tenían de los pueblos de las distintas Isla. Así como, de su aficiones y características físicas, porque aunque todos procedían del norte de África (Magreb), al ser éste tan extenso, pues abarcaba desde Argelia frontera con Egipto, hasta el norte de Mauritania, se trataba de distintos pueblos o aldeas, que incluso hablaban distinto, aunque su idioma matriz fuera el bereber.
