A technician specialised in Radiodiagnostics has been hired for the extension of this service, which will be operational from 8 am until 8 pm, on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays. The service, therefore, complies with the directives of the Plan for Health Emergencies in the Canaries.

With this extension of the timetable and human resources, the Emergency Service of the Puerto del Rosario II Health Centre improves the capacities of this health centre for this Basic Health Area of Puerto del Rosario.

In January and February this year, the Emergency Service of Fuerteventura’s General Hospital carried out 7 278 consultations, which represents 9,58% more than at the same time last year, and an average of 123,36 consultations per day.

On the other hand, the Basic Area of Puerto del Rosario registered 3 810 urgent medical consultations in February alone and 3 165 for infirmary consultations, of which 151 had to be transferred to Fuerteventura’s General Hospital to complete the diagnosis process or therapy.
