We are finally approaching spring, and I couldn’t be any happier. The weather should start to bring us more warm days and all our bikes can begin to get back on the road on a regular basis. There have been some good days to slip a ride in here and there but overall, a long winter in my opinion.

Bike nights for this season are starting to get organized and we wanted to update you on a few of them. Every Wednesday night starting on April 5th the fun will resume at Bobby’s Place in Valley Park with “Historic Route 66 Bike Night”. This has proven to be the most popular weekly bike night in the Lou. We are still looking for one additional vendor for these Bike Nights. So, if you’re interested in being a weekly vendor at Bobby’s Place send me an email and let’s talk. Email me at publisher@fullthrottle-magazine.com. I have had a few people say they have some great ideas for making Bike Night more fun. We are also open to any suggestions on how you think we can pump up the party on Wednesday evening. Email your suggestions and we will look at adding some fun to the party based on your suggestions.

A few more events we know that are coming up are St Charles Harley is having their annual Ladies Garage Party on February 23rd from 6pm-8pm. This event has always for the ladies.

The Sedalia Motorcycle Association is having their annual “Show-Me Bike Show” in the Agriculture Building on the Missouri State Fairgrounds on February 4th. Always an amazing collection of bikes. Mark your calendars for this one.

Be sure to keep up with all the events going on this season by watching our Crusin’ Calendar in the magazine and on our website. Another great place to find events is on our Facebook page. We are constantly posting and sharing posts for events and rides that are happening on a weekly basis.

As always, ride safe my friends and we will see you on the road with Full Throttle Magazine.

Protecting

"A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Words that are more prevalent today than any other time in our history. Some say that when our founding fathers wrote The Constitution and created The Bill of Rights, they intended for the 2nd Amendment to be number two on the list for a reason. History has proven that this right has allowed us to maintain the freedoms we have. And this should be important for all US citizens.

Maybe you question this? Or you don’t feel the second amendment is detrimental in our country? Take a look at some other countries around the world that have put a ban on civilians owning firearms. Take a look at other countries around the world who have banned guns and removed them from their citizens. Venezuela banned the sale of guns in 2012. Fast forward to today, Venezuela is a mess. They are a Socialist, Tyrannical country. The government is violating and removing liberties such as free speech, devaluing its national currency, seizing privately owned properties and creating economic destruction that has destroyed the country. They claim to have banned guns to limit their crime rate. But think if your government came to your home and told you they needed it and were taking it and you couldn't do anything about it!

Australia put in place a strict gun control program between 1996-2007 that started with banning semi-automatic guns and evolved into banning certain calibers, barrel lengths, & magazine capacities. They claimed this was to lower their homicide and crime rate. Canada is now doing this as well. Nazi Germany banned guns and look at the results. Most feel that this allowed for the Holocaust to take place. If guns were not banned, people could have fought back, saving millions of lives. It wouldn’t have been so simple for Hitler and the Nazi’s to do what they did if all of those civilians were armed and could protect themselves, their family’s and neighbors.

How many times in history do we need to see the effects of people forfeiting their rights and then seeing how their worlds can be turned upside down. There is a reason that this has not happened in the United States and that is because pro 2A Americans stick to their guns (pun intended) and will not give up this right. There are many Americans that fight the government and politicians daily so we can keep our 2nd amendment rights.

Certain states are pushing their limits to see what they can get away with. States like California,

Page 6 www.FullThroTTle-Magazine.coM

your rights!

New York, & Illinois. All of which have the strictest gun laws in the country. If you look up the news in these states, you will see so many reports of shootings, homicides, armed robbery’s etc taking place throughout many cities within those states. It is horrible to see what is happening. People are leaving these state in huge numbers. You might think, how can't that be? These states have the most stringent gun laws, they shouldn’t have gun crimes, right? Guess what? Criminals don’t care about your gun laws. Criminals are not going to surrender their guns and abide by those strict laws put in place. They see this as an opportunity to commit more crimes against innocent civilians because they are not armed and are not prepared to defend themselves. Disarming law abiding citizens makes it that much easier for the criminals, to be criminals. Having the 2nd Amendment and right to bear arms allows for not only an even playing field but also helps to keep bad people in check.

Another attempt to restrict our rights is the claim that the 2nd Amendment wasn’t intended for modern AR-15’s, and other more modern firearms. That it was intended for the muskets that fit the time period of when The Constitution was written. IF that was true then let's pose the question. If the 1st Amendment applies to radio, TV, and the internet.....and the 4th Amendment covers electronic wiretapping and video surveillance, how can the 2nd Amendment only apply to 18th century firearms? And when it was written all the people with power only had muskets and cannons. So it was allowing the citizens to have the same firepower as the people in power. Just like it should be today.

There are plenty of examples throughout history and occurrences in other countries and yet we find ourselves fighting for our own rights and our own lives. In the midst of a pandemic people all across the United States are recognizing this and acting on it. Gun and ammo sales in 2020 and 2021 were higher than ever. They quadrupled average gun sales for the few year's prior. People are recognizing that they will be the first line of defense if a problem would arise. They realized if something bad were to happen you only have seconds to respond.

We are now, more than ever, in a fight for our rights and in a fight for our freedoms. The 2nd Amendment was written not for us to protect ourselves from other countries, that is the military's job. The part of the 2nd Amendment which includes “being necessary to the security of a free State” was intended for us to defend and protect ourselves from our OWN government. Keep up the fight and don’t surrender any of your rights, especially your right to bear arms.

Health Benefits of Riding

Riding your motorcycle is a convenient and fun way to get around town, but did you know that there are health benefits as well? Riding a bike won’t replace the need for proper diet and exercise, but you might be surprised by some of the ways it can help you relax, practice focus, and even help with some muscles you might not normally use. We’ve gathered some of the most notable health benefits below.

When you ride a motorcycle, your brain engages differently than it does while driving a car. When you drive a car, your brain tends to be much more passive. It’s not long before highway hypnosis takes over and suddenly you realize that you’ve been driving for several minutes, but you can’t recall the last stretch of the street you just passed by. You use your hands to steer, but your body remains fairly still. The only time your brain really becomes engaged is when you’re reacting to a safety issue, such as an animal coming into your path or sudden braking by a motorist.

Riding a motorcycle is an entirely different experience. Your brain becomes much more engaged and focused as you’re facing more obstacles as you ride. You drive around much larger vehicles, and obstacle such as potholes, which are more threatening to your bike. You’ll be actively scanning the roads more often as the hazards affect you more. Undoubtedly, your brain gets an intense workout as you ride.

While a more active brain isn’t going to directly benefit your mental health, it does relate to the release of feel-good chemicals, like adrenaline and endorphins. The fun of riding a motorcycle can improve your mood drastically and you’ll generally feel more positive. These effects tend to last long after you finish your motorcycle ride.

Additionally, you might be able to reduce negative emotions, like stress. Stress can

damage every major system in your body from your nervous system to your digestive system. Plenty of research studies show that stress is a leading factor for most doctors and hospital visits. Cruising down the highway on your motorcycle is a great stress-reliever, which helps keep those negative health effects at bay.

Let’s not forget that hitting the road on your bike also exposes you to sunshine, so you’re sure to soak up some vitamin D in the process. Riding a motorcycle can actually be quite the workout. Whether you’re on a big adventure bike, or something smaller, riding a bike will make you sweat. Whenever you ride a bike, you engage your entire body. You’re not really putting a strain on your muscles like you’re going to the gym, but you are working out your core, balance, neck, knees, thighs, and burning calories at the same time—more so if you’re more technical on the bike.

To cap it off, being into motorcycles and engaging with the community can benefit your social life. Find a riding group and travel hundreds of miles in a day just to get breakfast and a cup of coffee on a fine weekend morning. Hobbies are infectious, and others are likely as crazy as you when it comes to motorcycles.

Sometimes, like mental health, we forget that social health is equally as important. Humans are social beings, and bikes are only one of the topics that can come up during a pre-ride or post-ride. Perhaps look into purchasing a communication system, join in on the conversation during the ride, sit down for breakfast, and be back home before lunchtime. Motorcycles are so much more than the two-wheeled death traps that most people make them out to be. Keep your wits about you all the time, know the dangers, train your brain.

KHROME WERKS

How’s it going Full Throttle readers! Keigan here again, I hope everyone is having a good start to their year. I have the Drag Specialties NVP show coming up on January 20th, which I’m very excited to get to go see and learn about all the new products that are going to be released this year so I can bring you all some different material than normal. Also, the new 2023 models are starting to arrive at the dealership so make sure you come in and check out the new color ways for this year because they look incredible.

Buying a new motorcycle is a fun and exciting experience. For most new Harley Davidson owners, they want to get behind the bars and go for their first ride on the new bike and when they go to take off, they lose that excitement when they don’t hear that patent Harley Davidson sound, we have all grown to know and love. So, they turn around and come right back to the dealership and say, “Keigan, I want my bike to sound like a Harley.” So, I’m going to tell you about one of my favorite exhaust companies on the market and that would be Khrome Werks.

Khrome Werks is an American exhaust company based out of Lincoln Nebraska, and they pride their selves on be in American company that produces American parts from American resources. Khrome Werks products are engineered to compliment the other components on you motorcycle. They offer an extensive line of exhaust and exhaust components, from slip on mufflers, 2-1 systems and 2-2 systems, that can help your mild or extreme build reach its full potential. Everyone knows that exhaust is all judged on the sound and so does Khrome Werks. When you install a set of their exhaust you can guarantee that you’ll be getting a deep rich American tone that is unmatched in the industry.

Let’s start by taking a look at their most common systems and that would be the slip-on mufflers. Khrome Werks mufflers come in a number of finishes, all being factory O.E. finishes, including 2 CVO finishes, that are backed by a limited-Lifetime Warranty, and offer 4 different muffler tip options. The Khrome Werks slip-ons are engineered for performance, sound and style. Their slip-on mufflers have been DYNO tested to show significant performance gains. As stated before, the sound from Khrome Werks is unmatched in the industry providing none of the high frequency annoying sounds. All Khrome Werks slip-ons are 50 state EPA compliant.

The tips options of the slip-on’s are where they let you add your personal touch to the look your going for. The edge tip is a very simple and clean slash cup design that is offered in contrast or chrome color options. This is the option I would run if you had stretched bags on your motorcycle. The slash cuts compliment the stretched bags really well. Moving to the tracer tip you will have a straight cut 4.5 muffler tip in contrast cut with black and chrome accents. The next option is the Turbine tip. This is a very simple and clean contrast tip with the outside color being black and the inside is a machine finish. It’s the perfect contrast in color to make the back of your motorcycle stand out. The last tip option is the Klassic tip. This is going to be the OG tip from Khrome

WERKS EXHASUT

Werks. It’s a simple black tip with white branding.

Khrome Werks second exhaust system is their full system exhaust. This system is offered in 3 colors, chrome, black and eclipse. Eclipse being a smoked chrome finish that compliments the paint on any bike, even the CVO’s, and is offered with the Tracer or Edge tip, other tips can be purchased separately. These full systems are made from 16-gauge steel and have the 4.5inch muffler body and come with a high flow perforated baffle to maximize your motorcycles torque. The sound this system produces is the same deep tone but with a little punch behind it that will turn heads. The 2-1 “Outlaw” pipe comes in 2 finishes, chrome and black. You have all 4 tips to choose from on this Outlaw system as it doesn’t come with one from the manufacture. For the riders that have stretched saddlebags or like the look of the dual exhaust but want all the performance benefits a 2-1 system offers, a ghost pipe is available to complete the look.

All of the Khrome Werks exhaust can be used with their Performance Baffle Inserts. The baffle inserts are perfect for any kind of engine build, and are offered in 4 different power options, Louvered, Ripper, Perforated and Plug. The Louvered baffle insert is going to be the perfect option for anyone going with a balanced build. The power on this baffle will be evenly distributed across the RPM range. The Ripper baffle is a big noise baffle that offers no performance benefits. This baffle is all for attitude! The perforated baffle is what comes from Khrome Werks in all of their mufflers. This one was designed for big torque builds. The power on this baffle will kick in around 2,000 RPMs and is perfect option for anyone with a cam in their bike. The last option is the Plug baffle. This baffle is designed to limit the noise from the exhaust. If you’re looking for a quite exhaust with performance benefits, this is the baffle for you.

No matter what you’re looking for out of an exhaust Khrome Werks will have an option for you. If you’re building a big engine or the everyday rider you really can’t, go wrong with an exhaust from Khrome Werks. If you’re looking for any of the following, American made, great sound, great performance benefits, and takes the style of your bike to the next level, then stop in and check out the entire line of Khrome Werks Exhaust we offer at the dealership.

Well folks, that wraps up this month’s article.
