Welcome to The Crochetist Easy. Elevated. Elegant. These were the elements we wanted to bring together in The Crochetist, a brand new digital pattern collection from Interweave Crochet. This premiere issue is a capsule collection with a simple, yet sophisticated, aesthetic. The six pieces, a mixture of accessories and sweaters, use basic shaping and subtle textures to create a minimalist collection that is approachable and will fit easily into your wardrobe. Smooth lines and simple stitch patterns work together to make these pieces both lovely and wearable. All three of the accessories use classic stitch patterns and shapes to create timeless pieces. The Clast Cap by Lisa Naskrent has a pebbled, textured pattern. Kylie Lamb used an interesting slip-stitch pattern that almost looks woven rather than crocheted for her Wafture Cowl. Toni Lipsey’s Pruina Shawl neatly combines rows of V-stitches with solid bands to make a traditional triangular shawl. The three sweaters also follow these style principles with clean lines and gentle boxy shapes. Natasha Robarge’s Rhythmite Pullover has dropshoulder sleeves and an easy-to-memorize rib-and-mesh pattern that drapes beautifully. Her second garment, the Huitre Top, has an all-over lace pattern to add a touch of elegance to a simple garment. And the Fullerene Pullover, designed by Jane Howorth, uses dolman shaping and a funnel neck to create a modern silhouette. As every crochetist knows, a project is only as good as the yarn used to create it. The wonderful yarns featured in this collection are courtesy of Omega Yarns, Sugar Bush Yarns, and Universal Yarn—many thanks to them for making this all possible. Their lovely yarns are truly key to making these projects shine. Creating this special digital collection has been a true labor of love. We hope you enjoy this new collection of everyday classics and add a little extra elegance to your wardrobe.
