Bienvenido a un nuevo número de Taxi Magazine. En este casi adornado por la primavera del 2016 y con el guarismo 97 como apellido. En nuestra portada tenemos de nuevo un protagonista con ritmo. Con la época de festivales y ritmos independientes comiendo días al calendario fijamos los ojos en el Teatro de la Zarzuela. El Ballet Nacional de España acude a su tradicional cita con la capital. En esta ocasión el escenario de la calle Jovellanos disfrutara del merecido homenaje que el BNE rinde a Antonio Ruiz Soler. Un programa espectacular que nos cuenta, con todo detalle, otro Antonio: Najarro, director del Ballet Nacional de España.

Welcome to a new issue of Taxi Magazine! As we head into late spring, 2016, this one marks issue No. 97. On our cover we feature, once again, a star with rhythm. With the period of festivals and independent music coming up fast, our gaze turns to the Teatro de la Zarzuela, where the National Ballet Co. of Spain reports for its traditional appointment with the capital. This time the venue on Jovellanos St. will boast a much-deserved tribute by the BNE to Antonio Ruiz Soler, a spectacular show that another Antonio, Najarro, director of Spain's National Ballet Co., tells us all about.

Este nombre tan insigne en la portada no desmerece al resto de contenidos. Madrid se llena de papel. Los formatos electrónicos recuperan su espacio en los bolsillos durante la celebración de la Feria del Libro. Una nueva edición en la que seguir reivindicando el talento llevado a la realidad en forma de papel. Aprovechamos para dar un espacio a algunas de nuestras editoriales favoritas y amigas de la revista.

This illustrious name on the cover in no way detracts from the rest of the contents. Madrid fills up with paper. Electronic formats are driven back into pockets during the celebration of the Book Fair, with a new edition continuing to uphold and celebrate talent made manifest in paper format. And we take this opportunity to include a space for some of our favourite publishers and friends of the magazine.

También presentamos una sección distinta. Hace ya mucho que empezamos en esto y se nos olvida pronto aquellas noches eternas de cierre y cuadrar planilla, pero siempre recordamos a aquellos que nos ayudaron. Por eso abrimos nuestras páginas a nuevas ideas, talento y emprendimiento en cualquiera de sus versiones. En este número descubrimos unas gafas, zapatillas y una cerveza muy especial.

This month we include a different kind of section. We have been at this for a while now, and have quickly forgotten those endless nights struggling to get the magazine out, and the format right, but we always remember those who helped us. So, our pages present some new ideas, talent and entrepreneurship, in all their different forms. In this issue: glasses, sneakers, and a very special beer.

El Teatro Fernán Gómez recibe por segunda vez el Festival Flamenco Madrid 2016. A partir del 2 de junio más de veinte compañías de cante, baile y toque flamenco ocuparán durante un mes el escenario de la Sala Guirau, sumándose los cuatro conciertos en la Sala Jardiel Poncela. La programación se completa con conferencias, clases magistrales y una exposición en homenaje a La Argentinita y Pilar López. The Fernán Gomez Theatre welcomes, for the second time, the Festival Flamenco Madrid 2016. As of June 2 more than 20 song, dance and flamenco companies will take the stage at the Sala Guirau, with four concerts at the Sala Jardiel Poncela. The program is rounded out with talks, lectures and an exhibition paying tribute to La Argentinita and Pilar López. La propuesta de Damián Ortega es una ficción basada en un acontecimiento. El artista toma algunas frases de fuentes históricas para elaborar una narrativa que fabula la reacción del arquitecto Minoru Yamasaki ante la destrucción de sus edificios. La pieza es un experimento del diálogo que se establece entre textos, en los que son reconocibles algunas expresiones de Gilles Lipovetsky autor de La era del vacío. Damián Ortega's production is a work of fiction based on an actual event. The artist draws on phrases from historical sources to construct a narrative about the reaction of architect Minoru Yamasaki to the destruction of his buildings. The work is an experiment featuring a dialogue established between texts, with recognizable phrases by Gilles Lipovetsky, author The Era of Emptiness.

El festival En un lugar del ser o no ser surge dentro de los actos conmemorativos del IV centenario de la muerte de Cervantes y Shakespeare. El ciclo está compuesto por cinco originales montajes: Miguel Will, del 19 al 22 de mayo; Ante Romeo y Julieta, del 24 al 25 de mayo; Otelo, el 27 y 28 de mayo; Las expertas, del 2 al 5 de junio, y para terminar, Perplejo, entre el 9 al 19 de junio. The In a Place of To Be or Not to Be Festival forms part of the commemoration of the fourth centenary of the deaths of Cervantes and Shakespeare. The series consists of five original productions: Michael Will, from 19 to 22 May; Before Romeo and Juliet, from 24 to 25 May; Othello, on 27 and 28 May; The Experts, from 2 to 5 June; and, finally, Perplexed, from 9 to 19 June.

SI LA COSA FUNCIONA Si la cosa funciona vuelve a Madrid, esta vez al Teatro Maravillas, donde estará hasta el 3 de julio. José Luis Gil volverá a representar a Boris, un misántropo con ínfulas de genio loco incomprendido al que se le mete, literalmente, una muchacha todo candor e inocencia (Ana Ruiz) que le revoluciona la vida por los cuatro puntos cardinales. Hasta el punto de creer en lo que siempre detestó como una idea absurda: el amor.

Si la cosa funciona (Whatever Works) returns to the Teatro Maravillas, where it will run until 3 July. José Luis Gil will play Boris again, a misanthrope who fancies himself a misunderstood genius, and ends up with a girl who is all candor and innocence (Ana Ruiz), turning his life upside down. He even ends up believing in what he always dismissed as an absurd notion: love.

Nada menos que una obra de Woody Allen... ¿dónde está su característico sello en esta pieza? Lo que hace Woody Allen aquí es narrarnos un cuento. Es la lucha de mi personaje por querer respetar su propia intimidad, su soledad, que para él es lo más importante… y es una lucha constante, porque a los demás nos considera pequeños microbios que no se enteran de nada.

Nothing less than a Woody Allen script... where is his hallmark here? What Woody Allen does is narrate the story. It is about my character’s struggle to preserve his own privacy, his solitude, which for him is the most important thing... and that struggle is constant, because he considers others small, oblivious microbes.

Allen definió a su personaje diciendo “Yo lo he creado. No soy yo exactamente, quizás sea una extrema exageración de mis sentimientos, las similitudes son obvias”... ¿Estás interpretando a Boris o más bien al propio Woody? Es muy Woody en el pesimismo del que ha impregnado al personaje principal, Boris, un hombre que piensa que el ser humano es una especie fallida y que quien más lo sufre son las personas que intelectualmente están por encima. Mi personaje es brillante y suscribo el 90% de lo que dice por muy pesimista que pueda parecer. Doy vida a Boris sin imitar a Woody Allen, ni tampoco a Larry Davis, actor de la película. El público se va a encontrar a José Luis Gil interpretando a Boris.

Allen defined his character: "I created him. He's not me, exactly. Perhaps he is an extreme exaggeration of my feelings, but the similarities are obvious"... Are you playing Boris or Woody himself? The pessimism that permeates the main character, Boris, is very Woody. The character is a man who thinks that the human being is a failed species, and that those who most suffer are the intellectually advanced. My character is brilliant, and I agree with 90% of what he says, no matter how pessimistic that may seem. But I play Boris life without imitating Woody Allen, or Larry David, the actor in the film. The audience is going to find José Luis Gil playing Boris.

Has triunfado y sigues triunfando en el mundo de la televisión, pero: ¿qué lugar ocupa el teatro en tu vida, tanto profesional como personalmente? Ahora mismo es un lugar muy importante. El teatro es lo que más me da, la TV también me gusta pero no me gustan los tiempos. El teatro para mí es la madre del cordero. El proceso creativo, sacarle jugo a una propuesta, a un personaje o a una frase… Es mágico.

You have succeeded and are still doing so in the world of television. What place does the theater have in your life, both professionally and personally? Right now, a very important one. The theatre is what I really love. I like TV, but not the way it is today. "The theater is everything. The creative process, getting a show, or a character or a phrase, just right... It's magical".

Una gran selección de procedentes de la Galería de los Uffizi en Florencia compuesta por ciento veintinueve dibujos. Además es una ocasión única para conocer un relevante número de dibujos completamente desconocidos hasta el momento junto a otros que no habían sido objeto de exhibición en España. La exposición ha sido organizada por la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, la Fundación MAPFRE y el Gabinetto Disegni e Stampe de las Gallerie degli Uffizi.

A lo largo de estos dieciséis años, el festival ha convocado a muchos nombres importantes del teatro español, y esta vez no iba a ser menos. Un nutrido grupo de actores, actrices, directores y títulos de cuyo nombre no quiero acordarme conforman una programación que tiene a Miguel de Cervantes como columna vertebral. El 400 aniversario de la muerte de Cervantes y Shakespeare copa la programación de esta edición, que tendrá lugar del 9 de junio al 3 de julio con 65 actividades en 12 espacios de la ciudad: 47 funciones, 11 talleres infantiles, 4 proyecciones cinematográficas y 2 reuniones profesionales con la Academia de las Artes Escénicas y de la Red Nacional de Teatros, Auditorios Circuitos y Festivales de Titularidad Pública. Un dato destacable es que de las 29 compañías que participan en el Festival, 20 están ubicadas en la Comunidad de Madrid, reflejo del buen momento de la creación escénica madrileña.

Over the course of these 16 years the Festival has boasted many important names in Spanish theater, and this time around is no exception. A large group of actors, actresses, directors and works combine to form a line-up with Miguel de Cervantes as the common thread woven throughout. The 400th anniversary of the death of Cervantes and Shakespeare marks the offerings at this edition, which will run from June 9 to July 3, with 65 activities in 12 areas of the city: 47 shows, 11 children's workshops, 4 film screenings and 2 professional events of the Academy of Performing Arts and the National Network of Publicly Owned Theatres, Auditoriums, Circuits and Festivals. Worthy of note: of the 29 companies participating in the Festival, 20 are located in the Community of Madrid, reflecting the city's thriving performing arts scene.

En el apartado de obras cervantinas, destaca el trabajo del actor Emilio Gutiérrez Caba, quien dirige y adapta Escrito en las estrellas, o la adaptación de la compañía Morfeo que mostrará su adaptación de El retablo de las maravillas; Sexpeare regresará a Madrid con su Rinconete y Cortadillo. También encontraremos Las Cervantas, una pieza de la escritora Inma Chacón y el Premio Nacional de Literatura Dramática José Ramón Fernández. Por parte de Shakespeare, Hamlet será la estrella. Se podrá ver la adaptación de Miguel del Arco, un écito absoluto en el Teatro de la Comedia y una versión británica, de la compañía Flute Theatre, de Kelly Hunter, que ha tenido muy buenas críticas por toda Europa. Más allá de esta doble mirada a Hamlet, la principal atracción Shakespeareana es Ricardo III. El actor Arturo Querejeta es el encargado de dar vida al protagonista, para luego juntarse con Eduardo Vasco para rendir tributo a Cervantes con un espectáculo titulado La ruta del Quijote, de Azorín, que se basa en las crónicas que el escritor del 98 hizo en el III centenario de la muerte del novelista. Pero habrá espacio para mucho más. Exposiciones, danza y cine entre otras actividades estarán presentes en una cita que personas de todas partes esperan anualmente para explorar el teatro del siglo de Oro.

In the section of works by Cervantes, of special note is the actor Emilio Gutiérrez Caba, who directs and adapts Written in the Stars; and the work by the company Morfeo, which will present its adaptation of The Altarpiece of wonders; while Sexpeare will return to Madrid with its Rinconete y Cortadillo. Also to be featured: Las Cervantas, a work by the writer Inma Chacon and National Literature Award winner José Ramón Fernández. As for Shakespeare, Hamletwill be the star. The production byMiguel del Arco will be on at the Teatro de la Comedia; and there will also be a British version, by Kelly Hunter's Flute Theater, with a work that has received rave reviews throughout Europe. Beyond these two takes on Hamlet the main Shakespearean attraction will be Richard III, withArturo Querejeta to play the main character, later joining Eduardo Vasco to pay tribute to Cervantes with a show entitled The Route of Don Quixote, by Azorin, based on the Generation of 98 writer's chronicles written on the third centenary of the novelist's death. But there will be much more: exhibitions, dance and film, along with other activities, at an event audiences eagerly await each year to explore Golden Age theatre.

Solo tenía seis años cuando, en la academia del Maestro Realito, sus movimientos ágiles y llenos de magia le hicieron ganarse la etiqueta de niño prodigio, un adjetivo que lo acompañaría en su temprana carrera. Quizá fue ese talento innato el que lo llevó, con solo ocho, a mostrar sus habilidades frente a los ojos atentos de los reyes Alfonso XIII y Victoria Eugenia, cuando viajaron a presidir la Exposición Iberoamericana de Sevilla, la tierra de aquel niño. Antonio Ruiz Soler, El Bailarín, alternaba sus actuaciones en cafés, teatrillos y fiestas privadas pero pronto su éxito le hizo viajar a América, donde residió durante más de doce años. Buenos Aires fue su primera parada, pero pronto llegaron Perú, Colombia, Venezuela, Cuba, México, Brasil, Nueva York o Hollywood. Ciudades que lanzaron a la fama al sevillano y a sus coreografías siempre llenas de temperamento y riesgo. Una figura, la de Antonio Ruiz Soler, que el Ballet Nacional de España (BNE) ha querido homenajear en el vigésimo aniversario de su muerte. Este espectáculo que, dirigido por Antonio Najarro, podrá verse en el Teatro de la Zarzuela desde el 18 de junio, repasa algunas de las grandes obras de este maestro del baile y recuerda la fuerza de un hombre que llevó la danza española a todos los rincones del mundo. ¿Por qué es el momento de hacer un homenaje a la figura de Antonio Ruiz? Principalmente porque se han hecho bastantes cosas en su honor, muchos espectáculos basados en su vida, pero el BNE no había realizado ningún montaje en el que todo fueran coreografías suyas. Considero que es uno de los poquísimos artistas que han marcado y evolucionado en su momento la danza española. La ha llevado a escena en formato de gran ballet, representando todos los estilos de la danza española (escuela bolera, danza estilizada, folclor y el flamenco). Fue un revolucionario en su época y considero que lo mínimo que podemos

He was only six years old when his agile and magical moves at Maestro Realito's academy garnered him a reputation as a wunderkind, an adjective that would accompany him in his early career. Perhaps it was that innate talent that took him, at the tender age of just 8, to show off his skills in front of the attentive eyes of the royals Alfonso XIII and Victoria Eugenia when they traveled to preside over the Latin American Exhibition in Seville, where the child was from. Antonio Ruiz Soler, “The Dancer,” alternated between performances at cafes, small theaters and private parties, but soon his success took him to the Americas, where he resided for more than 12 years. Buenos Aires was his first stop, soon followed by Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Cuba, Mexico, Brazil, New York and Hollywood. These cities brought fame to the Sevillian, whose coreographies were always full of passion and daring. Antonio Ruiz Soler is a figure that the National Ballet Co. of Spain (BNE) wanted to pay tribute to upon the 20th anniversary of his death. This show, directed by Antonio Najarro, may be seen at the Teatro de la Zarzuela as of 18 June and features some of the great works by this master of dance, evoking the vitality of a man who took Spanish dance to every corner of the world. Why is now the time to pay tribute to Antonio Ruiz? Mainly because many things have been done in his honor, there have been many shows based on his life, but the BNE had ever done a show in which all the choreography is his. I believe him to be one of the very few artists who shaped and really advanced Spanish dance during his time. This features a grand ballet format, representing all the different styles of Spanish dance (Bolero school, stylised dance, folklore and flamenco). He was a revolutionary in his time and I think the

Supongo que habrá sido muy complicado elegir las coreografías entre todos los trabajos de Antonio Ruiz. Sí, lo que busco a parte de hacer un homenaje a la escuela de Antonio Ruiz, es que este homenaje se pueda adaptar a la condición actual del BNE. Desde hace cinco años he luchado por tener un elenco de bailarines de altísimo nivel, con representaciones en las que se vea un gran número de intérpretes ejecutando coreografías de una gran complejidad técnica y artística. La confección de este programa se basa un poco en eso.

I imagine that it was very difficult to choose amongst all of Antonio Ruiz's choreographies. Yes, what I aimed for, in addition to paying tribute to Antonio Ruiz, was for this show to be adaptable to the BNE's current role and situation. For five years I have struggled to gather a cast of dancers of the highest level, with numbers in which a large number of dancers perform choreographies of great technical and artistic complexity. The organisation of this programme is based a little on that.

Entre las personas que han colaborado en el montaje destaca la colaboración de Carmen Rojas, que fue primera bailarina de Antonio. En este caso Carmen Rojas, que era la primera figura de Antonio, colabora en toda la parte flamenca. Está reponiendo el Taranto para la bailarina principal, Esther Jurado. Las repetidoras del BNE, tanto Maribel Gallardo como Cristina Visús, están haciendo un trabajo extraordinario de recuperación del Sombrero de Tres Picos, Fantasía Galaica y Eritaña. También he contado con Carlos Galán, que fue uno de los artistas que estuvo muy cerca de Antonio en sus últimos años y en coreografías como el Zapateado de Sarasate.

Among those who have collaborated on the production is Carmen Rojas, who was Antonio's principal. In this case Carmen Rojas, who was Antonio's principal back in the day, appears in the whole Flamenco part. She is preparing ElTaranto (dance) for the principal, Esther Jurado. En este homenaje vamos a poder ver cinco coreografías. Hablemos de cada una de ellas, empezando por Eritaña, la primera. Eritaña es una pieza relativamente corta, no llega a los diez minutos, pero es muy contundente, muy redonda. Participan en ella cuatro parejas de bailarines del cuerpo de baile, tres bailarinas solistas y un pareja de primeros bailarines. Muestran perfectamente el estilo de Antonio de la Escuela Bolera, hace mucho hincapié en los quiebros de cintura que caracterizan la escuela bolera y sobre todo la velocidad de pasos. Es una pieza muy completa, las variaciones de las bailarinas solistas son muy diferentes, cada una de ellas muestra una personalidad muy concreta.

In this tribute we will be able to see five choreographies. Let's talk about each, starting with Eritaña, the first. Eritaña is a relatively short piece, less than ten minutes, but it is very powerful, very complete. It features four pairs of dancers from the ballet troupe, three soloists, and a pair of principals. They offer a perfect exhibition of Antonio's style, from the Bolera school, with a great stress on the waist movement that characterises it, and, above all, the speed of the steps. It is a very wide-ranging piece, the variations of the soloists are very different, as each projects a very specific personality.

Después llega el turno de un zapateado solo para hombres. El Zapateado de Sarasate es una pieza emblemática de la danza española, en el BNE se lleva programando casi desde el inicio. Es una coreografía que la baila un primer bailarín centrada en el juego del zapateado, pero no como se hace ahora en el mundo del flamenco, sino al estilo que quería en aquel momento Antonio: muy pulido, con mucho juego de pies, muy visual. No juega solo la velocidad del taconeo, sino los dibujos de los pies a la hora de zapatear, que eso actualmente se ha perdido bastante y en esta coreografía está muy marcado. Es una coreografía

Then it is time for a zapateado, for men only. The Zapateado de Sarasate is an iconic piece of Spanish dance that the BNE has had on its programme almost from the beginning. It is a choreography performed by a principal focused on the zapateado technique – but not as it is now done in the flamenco world, but rather in the way Antonio was looking for back in his time: very polished, with a lot of footwork, very visual. It not only has to do with the speed of the taconeo, but the patterns the feet trace, an aspect that has been largely lost, and in this choreography is very pronounced. It is a virtuoso choreography that begins with an instrumental part,

muy virtuosa que comienza con una parte instrumental, después hay un solo de zapateado en el que el bailarín, sin nada de música, zapatea durante un tiempo considerable y después se cierra con otra parte instrumental. Esta pieza se ha representado con una orquesta pero en este caso la haremos con violín solista y piano solista en el escenario y el primer bailarín. En tercer lugar, las mujeres cogen protagonismo con una pieza de flamenco llena de complejidad. El Taranto es un riesgo que he querido asumir porque piezas flamencas de Antonio casi no se han recuperado. La descubrí en la película La taberna del toro, una trilogía que se editó de Antonio El Bailarín con El Amor Brujo y el Sombrero de Tres Picos. Era un espectáculo situado en una taberna y recogía una sucesión de palos flamencos. Una de ellas, El Taranto, lo bailaba Carmen Rojas con una bata de cola muy característica, roja, muy tradicional, y vi que era una ocasión perfecta para recuperarla para mi bailarina Esther Jurado que tiene una personalidad y una fuerza a la hora de interpretar flamenco muy auténtica.

then there's a zapateado solo in which the dancer, without any music, dances for a considerable time, and then it closes with another instrumental section. This piece has been performed with an orchestra, but in this case we will do it with violin and piano soloists on stage, and the principal. Thirdly, the spotlight is turned on women, with a flamenco piece charged with complexity. El Taranto is a risk I wanted to take because Antonio's flamenco pieces have almost disappeared. It was a show set in a tavern and featuring a whole succession of flamenco styles. One of them, El Taranto, was danced by Carmen Rojas in a very characteristic, traditional red tail coat, and I realised that it was the perfect time to bring it back for my dancer Esther Jurado, who has a very authentic personality and power when performing Flamenco.

Luego llega el folclore con Fantasía Galaica… Fantasía Galaica se ha repuesto en otras ocasiones en el BNE. Lo creó Antonio inspirándose en el folclor gallego pero dándole una estilización muy personal, es decir, un toque académico que lo hace más teatral, más de escena. Hay números grupales de toda la compañía, un paso a dos maravilloso que lo interpretan los bailarines con dos vieiras y descalzos, representando el último aliento. Tiene un toque dramático maravilloso y un cierre con todos los bailarines sobre el escenario bailando muñeira gallega.

Then it is time for folklore, with Fantasía Galaica… Fantasía Galaica has been performed previously by the BNE. Antonio created it, inspired by Galician folklore, but giving it a very personal twist; that is, an academic touch that makes it more theatrical, more dramatic. There are group numbers with the whole company, a wonderful pas de deux performed by two ballerinas barefoot, representing the last breath. It has a marvellous dramatic touch and a closing with all the dancers on the stage dancing the Galician muñeira.

Por último, el homenaje termina con Sobrero de Tres Picos, una de las coreografías que más veces ha repuesto el BNE. Sombrero de Tres Picos es un clásico de la danza española. Hay varias versiones y en este caso se repone la de Antonio, una maravilla de la danza, con la historia del flirteo, la historia que de una manera tan magistral supo llevar a la escena Antonio. Es cierto que es muy complicado llevar al escenario una obra argumental y que se comprenda sin la palabra. Antonio consiguió llegar al público, hacer una historia absolutamente comprensible, con su toque cómico, con las danzas de los molineros que son verdaderas joyas.

Finally, the tribute ends with Sombrero de Tres Picos, one of the choreographies the BNE has performed most often. Sombrero de Tres Picos is a classic of Spanish dance. There are several versions, and in this case we offer Antonio's, a marvel of dance featuring a tale of flirtation, one that Antonio was able to masterfully bring to the stage. It is true that it is very difficult to stage a work with a plot, and for it to be understood without any talking. Antonio managed to connect with the public, to create an absolutely comprehensible story, with a comic touch, and dances of the millers, which are real gems.

MADZ FOOTWEAR *"para los que se atreven a hacer algo diferente sin miedo al fracaso" MADZ FOOTWEAR es una marca de zapatillas creada en Madrid en enero de 2016 con unos “diseños inspirados en la locura de la ciudad y en el lado divertido de la vida”, o así lo define Iván Alejos, uno de los cinco socios del proyecto. El concepto MADZ es una combinación entre el guiño a la pronunciación de la capital “madriz” y “mad”, que significa loco en inglés. A esto se le suma la identidad del logo que es una M en forma de orejas de gato, nombre por el que son conocidos los madrileños. La idea nace del propio Iván, que es curiosamente Ingeniero de Telecomunicaciones, y que sin embargo descubrió que había un hueco en el mercado textil. Tras un análisis de la situación, se dio cuenta de que no había en España unas zapatillas de buena calidad y bajo precio. Así que contactó con un diseñador, su ahora socio Jimmy, y con Saúl, encargado de la logística, y juntos se pusieron en marcha. Cuentan además con otros dos socios capitalistas y con una encargada de comunicación. En la actualidad envían los productos a toda la Península, sin embargo y a pesar de tener menos de un año de vida han recibido peticiones de EEUU y Latinoamérica, por lo que

MADZ FOOTWEAR is a shoe brand founded in Madrid in January of 2016, with "designs inspired by the madness of the city and on the fun side of life," according to Iván Alejos, one of the company's five partners. The MADZ concept alludes to the pronunciation of the capital, "madriz," and "mad" which means "crazy" in English. The brand's logo, in addition, is a pair of M-shaped cat ears (Madrid natives are termed gatos, or cats). The idea came from Iván, who is, curiously, a Telecommunications Engineer, but still found that there was a niche to be filled in the textile market. After an analysis of the situation, he realised that Spain lacked a brand of high-quality sneakers at affordable prices. So, he contacted a designer, his nowpartner, Jimmy, and Saúl, in charge of Logistics, and together they got down to work. They also have another two other equity partners, and a Communications professional. They are currently shipping their products throughout the Peninsula. n el mes de Junio, Calatayud (Zaragoza) revive su historia en los tiempos en que el último Gobernador musulmán rendía la ciudad al Rey Alfonso I, llamado “El Batallador” el 24 de junio de 1120 tras meses de asedio y después de ganar en la batalla de Cutanda al ejército almorávide que venía desde el sur para ayudar a la ciudad de Calatayud, abriendo así los valles del Jalón y del Jiloca. Conviven las 3 Culturas, musulmana, judía y cristiana. Desde aquel momento además de la población autóctona, ésta aumentó con gente venida de Francia, Navarra, La Rioja, Álava, y de los Pirineos que se quedaron a repoblar las nuevas tierras conquistadas.

MICHELADA MALINCHE *un cóctel de tendencias El lanzamiento de Cerveza Artesanal Michelada Malinche aglutina distintas tendencias como el gusto por el picante, las bebidas listas para tomar, el micromecenazgo y la coctelería con cerveza.
