En este número descubrimos a qué lugares poder hacer una escapada en familia o con amigos. Desde fuera de nuestras fronteras viajamos a Polonia para descubrir los siglos de historia que esconde este país centroeuropeo. Esta iniciativa va a convertir una de las plazas más famosas y transitadas del país en un espacio artístico y cultural único. Un proyecto pionero en Europa que acerca de forma gratuita el arte contemporáneo y artistas internacionales al público. El proyecto contará con dos iniciativas: Poetas Visuales y Arteen 10”. La primera consiste en exponer los trabajos de las nuevas generaciones de la fotografía durante los próximos doce meses, un artista por cada mes y la segunda mostrará diferentes montajes audiovisuales de diez segundos en las pantallas de Callao. Este proyecto ha sido desarrollado por Callao City Lights, compañía que gestiona los emblemáticos cines junto con la colaboración de Cultura Inquieta. This initiative will turn one of the country's most famous and busiest squares into a unique artistic and cultural space. A pioneering project in Europe that brings contemporary art and international artists to the public free of charge. The project will have two initiatives: Visual Poets and Arteen 10. The first consists of exhibiting the works of the new generations of photography over the next twelve months, one artist per month and the second will show different ten second audiovisual montages on the screens of Callao. CONEJA Esperanza Pedreño demostró en la multipremiada obra Mi relación con la comida de Angélica Lidell que encima de un escenario tiene una fuerza arrolladora. En su nuevo montaje, creación suya, también nos propone un mensaje crudo, directo, aderezado de humor, sí, pero cuando Pedreño te habla, cuando Pedreño te mira a los ojos, esa aparente inocencia se transforma en fiereza y sus palabras te perforan el cerebro haciendo que el mensaje resuene largo tiempo en tu cabeza. Coneja, primera parte de la Trilogía de la desaparición, es un montaje que gira en torno a los sueños rotos. Un disparate surrealista que trata de manera subversiva los conflictos internos que surgen durante el embarazo, la conciliación, la educación de los hijos, la relación con el otro progenitor (si la hubiera). Un monólogo escrito por una rebelde que se atreve a poner el dedo en la llaga de las cosas que nadie te cuenta y que te hará reflexionar sobre el desplazamiento al que se ve abocada la mujer cuando tiene hijos, en ese momento en que deja de lado su individualidad para convertirse en ama de cría en un proceso vital que la sociedad prácticamente les exige a las mujeres, pero que cuando sucede, esa misma sociedad que exige madres las aparta y arrincona. Esperanza Pedreño demonstrated her prodigious magnetism on stage in her performance in the multi-award winning show Mi Relación con la Comida, by Angelica Lidell. In this new work Pedreño transmits a stark, direct message, full of humour, yes, but when Pedreño speaks to you and looks you in the eye, that apparent innocence turns to fierceness and his words pierce your brain, making the message resonate long in your head. Coneja, the first part of the Trilogía de la Desaparición is a work that revolves around broken dreams, a surreal, absurd work that deals subversively with the internal conflicts that arise during pregnancy, balancing life and work, raising children, relationships with the other parent (if any)... A monologue written by a rebel woman who dares to tell it like it is, like nobody else does, and that will spur you to reflect on how deeply women are affected when they are expecting, at which point she sheds her individuality to become a wet nurse, in a life process that society practically demands of women. But when they undergo it, that same society that demands mothers, isolates and neglects them.

La adaptación teatral de la novela de Miguel Delibes Cinco horas con Mario se estrenó por primera vez en 1979. Tras el éxito acogido durante décadas, la narrativa teatral ha vuelto en varias ocasiones consiguiendo siempre obtener el reconocimiento por críticos y espectadores. En esta ocasión, el Teatro Bellas Artes de Madrid acoge esta obra con tintes esperpénticos. Cuarenta años después de su aparición el argumento se mantiene intacto. Marzo de 1966, Carmen Sotillo acaba de perder a su marido Mario de una forma inesperada y de esta manera da comienzo un monólogodiálogo que vuelve a sorprender con una ironía cáustica. Delibes creó un personaje con una impresionante profundidad psicológico y sociológica, así como con una mirada comprensiva y crítica a la vez. El texto regresa como un retrato de una España inmovilista y gris. El retrato de Carmen velando a su marido contiene el perfil vivo, doliente, y comprometido de una mujer ante tal machismo imperante de aquella época. El público de hoy ríe en algún momento de la función por las manifestaciones de una forma de ser y pensar que ahora pueden parecer exageradas y hasta caricaturescas. Cinco Horas con Mario habla de los asuntos eternos del ser humano: de la culpa, de la soledad, de la incomunicación y del sentido de la vida partiendo de unos personajes que encarnan los conflictos y las realidades más profundas que condicionan nuestra vida.

The theatrical adaptation of Miguel Delibes' novel Cinco horas con Mario premiered in 1979. After the success it has enjoyed for four decades, the version for the theatre has resurfaced on several occasions, always garnering recognition by critics and audiences alike. This time around Madrid's Theatre of the Fine Arts presents this work, with grotesque touches of tragicomedy. Forty years after its premier, the plot remains intact. March of 1966. Carmen Sotillo has just unexpectedly lost her husband, Mario, and thus begins a monologuedialogue that surprises audiences with its caustic irony. Delibes created a character of impressive psychological and sociological depth, with comprehensive and critical perspectives at the same time. The text returns as a portrait of a static and grey Spain. Its portrait of Carmen, mourning her husband's death, traces a vivid, painful and socially charged profile of a woman faced with the machismo that prevailed during her time. Today's audiences laugh at some points of the show about at manifestations of a way of thinking and behaving that now may seem exaggerated, even caricatures. Five Hours with Mario reflects on the eternal issues facing the human being: guilt, loneliness, isolation, and the meaning of life, through a set of characters that embody the most profound conflicts and realities that shape our lives.

Pentación espectáculos trae al Teatro Bellas Artes una obra con un marcado carácter literario. José Sámano produce y dirige Señora de Rojo sobre Fondo Gris en una adaptación de la novela escrita por Miguel Delibes. En esta narrativa, Delibes crea un discurso desgarrador tras el prematuro fallecimiento de su mujer, quien lo inclinó hacia la literatura. Esta novela es la única que escribió directamente en homenaje a una persona. José Sacristán protagoniza esta obra caracterizado en un pintor con muchos años en el oficio y quien lleva tiempo sumido en una crisis creativa. Desde que falleció de forma imprevista su mujer, que era todo para él, prácticamente no ha podido volver a pintar. Estamos en verano y otoño de 1975. La hija mayor de ambos está en la cárcel por sus actividades políticas, y es en esas fechas cuando surgen los primeros síntomas de la enfermedad de su madre que la hija vivirá desde dentro de prisión. Es otro recuerdo permanente en la vida de su padre, que también ahora revive. Esta función es un relato de una historia de amor desenfrenado hacia la muerte, que nos sitúa en aquella España con rasgos inequívocos, que nos habla de la felicidad y de su pérdida.

Pentación Espectáculos brings a work of a markedly literary character to the Teatro Bellas Artes. José Sámano produces and directs Lady in Red on a Gray Background, in an adaptation of the novel written by Miguel Delibes, a heart-breaking story penned after the premature death of his wife, who inspired his literary career. This novel is the only one he wrote in direct tribute to a person. José Sacristán stars in this play about a veteran painter who has suffered a prolonged creative crisis in the wake of his wife's sudden death, as she was everything to him, and he is barely able to paint any longer. In the summer and autumn of 1975 their eldest daughter is in jail for her political activities, and it is then when the first symptoms of the mother's illness arise, which the daughter will follow from inside prison. This is another enduring memory in the life of her father, who relives it all. This show is a passionate love story culminating in death, harking back to a Spain of stark features, a work speaking of happiness and its loss.

El Teatro Fernán Gómez abre temporada con la figura de Goya como referente. Con Monsieur Goya, una indagación se busca rendir homenaje al pintor aragonés, en este año en el que se cumplen el segundo centenario desde que empezara a crear las denominadas “Pinturas Negras”. En una producción propia del Fernán Gómez, el guión está escrito por Sanchis Sinisterra y dirigido por Laura Ortega, incluyendo por primera vez en un montaje teatral videoescenas, dirigidas por el elenco de Daniel Canogar. Monsieur Goya, una indagación reflexiona sobre la incertidumbre creativa y la condición del exilio en tiempos modernos. Esta iluminadora propuesta escénica parte de una pregunta sobre cómo poner en imágenes la propia historia e invita a entender la figura del artista como testigo fantasma de nuestro presente. Con una estética y un lenguaje contemporáneos, se adentra en un mundo de ilustrados, mujeres libertarias, románticos, pintoras y niños soldado que habitan, como nosotros, entre humo de pólvora y sombras de fantasmagoría. En palabras de la directora del montaje, Laura Ortega: “Las Pinturas Negras son un misterio inagotable para el espectador moderno y muchas las incógnitas que plantean, transcurridos dos siglos desde que Goya comenzase a pintarlas en la Quinta del Sordo”. Unida a esta obra, se estrena también la exposición El Sueño de la Razón. Muestra comisariada por Olivia María Rubio en una producción propia del teatro y en colaboración con La Fábrica que muestra la influencia que Goya sigue ejerciendo en el arte de nuestro tiempo. The Fernán Gómez Theatre opens the season with the figure of Goya as a role model. Monsieur Goya, una indagación seeks to pay tribute to the Aragonese painter, in this year that marks the second centenary since he began to create the so-called "Black Paintings". In Fernán Gómez's in-house production, the script is written by Sanchis Sinisterra and directed by Laura Ortega, including video scenes for the first time in a theatrical production, which are directed by Daniel Canogar's cast. Monsieur Goya, una indagación reflects on the creative uncertainty and condition of exile in modern times. This illuminating stage proposal starts from a question about how to put history itself into images and invites us to understand the figure of the artist as a ghost witness of our present day. With contemporary aesthetics and language, we are taken into a world of the enlightened, libertarian women, romantics, painters and child soldiers who inhabit, as we do, between gunpowder smoke and shadows of phantasmagoria. In the words of the production’s director, Laura Ortega: "The Black Paintings are an inexhaustible mystery for the modern spectator and many of the unknowns they pose, two centuries after Goya began painting them in Quinta del Sordo". The Centro Cultural de la Villa also premières the exhibition El Sueño de la Razón together with this work. This is an exhibition curated by Olivia María Rubio in an in-house theatre production and in collaboration with La Fábrica, which shows the influence that Goya continues to exert on the art of our time. Caixa Fórum trae a Madrid una de las exposiciones más reveladoras de la vida personal de Pablo Picasso. Olga Picasso, la primera mujer del artista, se ve reflejada con diferentes perspectivas en una selección de obras y archivos personales que muestran el periodo de decadencia que sufrió la pareja. Pablo Picasso pone en perspectiva el “periodo Olga” contextualizado cada uno de los momentos que vivieron juntos. En 1917 se reconoce a Olga como bailarina de ballet pasando a convertirse en la modelo por excelencia dentro del periodo clásico del artista. Años más tarde, en 1921, y tras el nacimiento de su primer hijo, la imagen de esta pasa a ser representada como una figura inspiradora de muchas escenas de maternidad y con varios tintes de ternura. Sin embargo, no es hasta 1927 y a raíz del encuentro de Picasso con Marie – Thérèse Walter, futura amante del pintor, cuando las obras sobre Olga se transforman de forma radical. Su imagen idealizada y melancólica dio paso a representaciones femeninas con deformaciones, a menudo, caracterizadas de forma agresiva y violenta. La figura de Olga se convierte en una mujer amenazante, monstruosa e incluso retratada con una nariz puntiaguda como un puñal y mostrando los dientes. La obra denominada El Beso, de 1931 deja ver finalmente, a una persona con ojos cerrados, abandonada y con una mirada que se desvía, símbolo del declive y del final del vínculo de pareja. La exposición puede disfrutarse del 19 de junio al 22 de septiembre con entrada general para todos los públicos. Además, la organización de Caixa Fórum Madrid ha preparado varias actividades extras relacionadas con la vida conyugal de la pareja.

Caixa Fórum brings to Madrid one of the most revealing exhibitions on the personal life of Pablo Picasso: Olga Picasso, the artist's first wife, is portrayed from different perspectives in a selection of works and personal archives revealing the couple's period of decline. Pablo Picasso puts the "Olga period" into perspective, contextualizing each of the times they spent together. In 1917 Olga was recognized as a ballet dancer, becoming the artist's favourite model during his classical period. Years later, in 1921, after the birth of their first child, she came to be represented as an inspiring figure in many scenes conveying motherhood, and containing overtones of tenderness. It was not until 1927, following Picasso 's encounter with Marie - Thérèse Walter, the painter's future lover, that the works portraying Olga transformed in a radical way. Idealized and melancholic images gave way to female representations featuring deformations, often represented in an aggressive and violent way. Olga became a threatening, monstrous woman, even portrayed with a pointed, dagger-like nose and showing her teeth. El Beso, from 1931, presented a figure with here eyes closed, abandoned, and looking away, a symbol of the couple's decline and the end of their relationship. The exhibition can be enjoyed from June 19 to September 22, with general admission for all audiences. PARQUE DE ATRACCIONES *celebra su 50 aniversario

El Parque de Atracciones de Madrid, perteneciente al Grupo Parques Reunidos, fue el primero de la actual familia formada por diecisiete parques de ocio en España. Tras medio siglo de vida, este 2019 celebra 50 años de diversión creciendo junto a varias generaciones de españoles. La inauguración en 1969 fue un éxito en la capital reuniendo a más de 50.000 personas y convirtiendo este enclave en un lugar innovador de entretenimiento y en un nuevo negocio. Desde la década de los 70 ha vivido diferentes etapas hasta consolidarse como un lugar de ocio en pleno pulmón de la Casa de Campo. Las atracciones históricas y pioneras serán recordadas. La primera montaña rusa “7 picos” fue un acontecimiento único para miles de madrileños. En este aniversario, el Parque tiene expuesto uno de sus vagones en conmemoración a las primeras décadas de entretenimiento. No obstante, el barco Mississipi, las Alfombras Mágicas, el Viejo Caserón o el Tiovivo también formarán parte de la historia. Desde su apertura, el público al que se ha dirigido está enfocado a la familia para que abuelos, padres y niños disfruten juntos de una jornada de risas. Fruto de este posicionamiento familiar, el Parque se unió estratégicamente en 2014 con reconocidas marcas de entretenimiento infantiles con el objetivo de crear zonas tematizadas y atraer la atención de los más pequeños. Una de las novedades durante el 2019 será la reapertura del Gran Teatro Auditorio tras una gran remodelación. Además, entre las novedades el público disfrutará del cine en 4D o “Los conciertos del Parque”. Y este año, durante Halloween volverá El Viejo Caserón, una de las atracciones preferidas de miedo aterrador que pondrá su foco en el pasaje “The Walking Dead”.

En pleno verano encontramos en Ciudad Real un popular y populoso evento que gira en torno al 31 de julio, día central de la fiesta de la Pandorga, que aúna tradición, modernidad, cultura, gastronomía y ganas de pasarlo bien. El origen de esta fiesta está en la ofrenda de los primeros frutos que se hacía a la Patrona, la Virgen del Prado. El “Pandorgo” es nombrado ese día en la Plaza Mayor, junto con la Dulcinea y sus Damas. Tras el acto, un colorido pasacalles se dirige hasta la Catedral, en el que las asociaciones y entidades portan su ofrenda a la patrona. La música y el baile son protagonistas el folclore junto al Prado, donde se bailan seguidillas manchegas, mientras que el Pandorgo “de hogaño” realiza su “convidá” a limoná y a garbanzos “torraos. Esa noche no se duerme, con miles de personas, ataviadas con el tradicional pañuelo de yerbas, y que no quieren perderse los toros de fuego. Pero la Pandorga y la música se prolonga durante los días anteriores, con conciertos de música tradicional en el Templete del Prado, el Pandorga Reggae Fest (sábado, 27 de julio), conciertos para los más jóvenes (Los 40 Summer Live o la Fiesta Máxima DJ’s). La limoná se hace concurso (30 de julio) en el que peñas y asociaciones participan para ver quién la hace mejor… y para refrescarse donde los jóvenes se la tiran unos a otros. La Pandorga es una fiesta que también incorpora deporte, como la “Pandorga Run” (domingo, 28 de julio), una carrera popular de 4 kilómetros. La gastronomía manchega, tradicional y vanguardista, también tiene su hueco. Del 26 al 28 de julio se celebra el Mahou Urban Food Festival donde degustar excelentes ejemplos de lo que es la tapa de Ciudad Real. Todos estos elementos se entremezclan durante estos días para conseguir una fiesta en la que todo el mundo tiene cabida. A tan solo 50 minutos de Madrid en tren, Ciudad Real te espera para hacerte parte de la fiesta.

In the middle of summer, in Ciudad Real we find a popular and populous event that revolves around July 31, the central day of the Fiesta de la Pandorga, which combines tradition, modernity, culture, cuisine and the yearning to have fun. The origins of this festival stem back to people’s offerings of the first fruits, made to the Patroness, La Virgen del Prado. That night no one sleeps, with thousands of donning their traditional checkered kerchiefs, and not wanting to miss the "bulls of fire" and their pyrotechnics. The Pandorga and the music continue with traditional sounds at the Templete del Prado, Pandorga Reggae Fest (Saturday, July 27), and concerts for young people (Los 40 Summer Live and the Fiesta Máxima DJ's). The limoná contest (July 30) pits clubs and associations against each other to see who makes the best lemonade ... and, to cool off, young people douse each other with it. Vivir una nueva Pandorga como Alcaldesa de Ciudad Real, es algo que me llena de emoción y de alegría, no en vano se trata de nuestra fiesta popular más multitudinaria y diversa, pero también he de decir que afronto la fiesta desde la responsabilidad, pues si bien La Pandorga dispone de vida propia y se mueve por un impulso ciudadano que es el reflejo más fiel de la energía y vitalidad de que goza nuestra ciudad, no es menos cierto que para el Ayuntamiento supone poner a prueba toda su capacidad organizativa y la operatividad de sus servicios para que todo esté a punto y la ciudad entera pueda disfrutar de la fiesta que mejor nos define. Aunque el día grande de Pandorga sea “el último día del mes de julio”, tal y como reza nuestro himno, desde primeros de mes ya se percibe el olor a Pandorga, son los prolegómenos, el contactar con amigos y esa emoción contenida que aguarda con expectación, qué nos traerá la Pandorga de hogaño. El programa de nuestra fiesta se hace cada año más rico y variado, nuevas propuestas se han ido introduciendo en un cóctel en el que cabe casi todo, fiesta de la seguidilla, Pandorga Run, feria de la tapa, …, una carta llena de sugerencias al gusto de los paladares más exigentes. La Pandorga es una fiesta donde la ciudad se abre de par en par para recibir a quienes, procedentes de otros lugares, queráis compartir con nosotros diversión y confraternidad. A poco más de tres horas de vuelo directo espera un destino que sigue siendo una sorpresa muy positiva para el viajero español. Iglesia de Santa María, El Museo Subterráneo, el Castillo y la Catedral de Wawel, y encantador barrio judío de Kazimierz. Merece la pena visitar también la Mina de Sal Wieliczka. FOLK GETXO BBK 2019

*35º Edición del Festival Internacional

El cierre de temporada de festivales finaliza en Getxo con una composición armónica de músicas del mundo. Sonidos tradicionales, fusiones, culturas, ritmos e instrumentos venidos de diferentes puntos del planeta se unen en la 35º edición del Festival Internacional de Folk para ofrecer un espectáculo dónde la diversidad de sinfonías nos ofrece una estampa de la diversidad cultural. A lo largo de cuatro jornadas, los barrios de Las Arenas y Romo acogerán diez conciertos que arrancan de la mano de los armenios Naghash Ensemble en una faceta reivindicativa interpretando canciones del exilio expresadas desde el siglo XXI. En el apartado de grupos instrumentales, los escandinavos Alos Quartet demuestran como encajar sonidos ancestrales en cuartetos de cuerda. Desde Colombia llega Marta Gómez, una de las figuras más destacadas de la canción de autor en Latinoamérica. Composiciones, ritmos diversos, cumbias y bambunos se oirán junto a los fados castizos, las baladas románticas y la voz seductora y expresiva de la mozambiqueña Mariza, la Reina del Fado. El cartel se completa con los jóvenes escoceses Skerryvore desde la Isla de Tiree y su música urbana actual. Los venezolanos C4 Trío reconocidos en toda Europa, la banda bretona Gwennyn y sus canciones en bretón, francés e inglés. Además de la percusión africana desde Uganda con Stick, el folk-rock de Mc Onak y los sonidos latinos de Masiompa. Los conciertos estarán divididos en diferentes ubicaciones y horarios para poder disfrutar de cada uno de ellos. Además, para los pequeños hay preparadas actividades infantiles y familiares como el espectáculo musical Kantu Kolore “Honolulu” y el Taller Ukelele. Para acompañar a la diversidad cultural y musical, el barrio de Romo pondrá a disposición de los visitantes y vecinos mercados de artesanía, espacios solidarios, desfiles de bandas y muchas actividades enfocadas en la música del mundo.

The festival season ends in Getxo with a harmonic composition of music from around the world. Traditional sounds, fusions, cultures, rhythms and instruments that come from different parts of the planet come together in the 35th edition of the International Folk Festival to offer a show where the diversity of symphonies offers us a picture of cultural diversity. Over the course of four days, the neighbourhoods of Las Arenas and Romo will host ten concerts that start with the Armenian Naghash Ensemble in a facet of protest, interpreting songs from exile expressed from the 21st century. In the instrumental groups section, the Scandinavian Alos Quartet demonstrates how to fit ancestral sounds into string quartets. Marta Gómez, one of the most outstanding figures of singer-songwriters in Latin America, comes in from Colombia, Compositions, different rhythms, cumbias and bambunos will be heard alongside pure fados, romantic ballads and the seductive, expressive voice of the Mozambican Mariza, the Queen of Fado. The line-up is completed with young Scotsmen Skerryvore from Tiree Island and their up-to-date urban music. The Venezuelan C4 Trio, recognised throughout Europe, the Breton band Gwennyn and their songs in Breton, French and English. In addition to the African percussion from Uganda with Stick, Mc Onak's folk-rock and the Latin sounds of Masiompa. The concerts will be divided into different locations and times, so as to be able to enjoy each one of them. In addition, there are activities for children and families such as the Kantu Kolore musical show "Honolulu" and the Ukelele Workshop. The Romo neighbourhood will make available craft markets, fair trade areas, marching bands and many activities focused on music from around the world to visitors and residents so as to join in with the diversity of culture and music.

Weekend City Madrid anuncia su tercer avance de cartel con las confirmaciones más esperadas. New Order, la legendaria banda británica de los 80´s es cabeza de cartel en este festival que aúna varios estilos artísticos. Junto a New Order toman impulso las artes urbanas. Los sevillanos SFDK, los granadinos Ayax y Prok y el trapero Dellafuente también estarán presentes y no dejarán indiferente a ninguno de sus seguidores. El cartel continúa y se suman las actuaciones de Bag Gyal, una de las artistas más conocidas actualmente en el panorama nacional e internacional y la fusión más garrapatera la pondrá El Canijo de Jerez, con su bien conocida Primavera Trompetera. El evento se caracteriza por tener dos áreas donde poder disfrutar de los diferentes estilos. El urbano está reservado para trap, rap, indie, rock, fusión y mestizaje y, por otro lado, la electrónica con el escenario Electronic Hall, donde estarán ubicados los mejores djs. Esta zona coge peso con las nuevas confirmaciones de Kristian Beyer y Frank Wiedemann, Âme. Un dúo particular que ha sabido desarrollar un sonido propio, uniendo techno Detroit, el sonido de Chicago y el buen gusto por la electrónica francesa. Otra pareja imprescindible para esta cita es Pan-Pot. Tassilo Ippenberger y Thomas Benedix llegan con el objetivo de profundizar en el sonido Dark. Weekend City Madrid completa el avance con uno de los nombres fundamentales en la escena electrónica de la capital, Álvaro Cabana. Se suman a la lista, el dúo madrileño Sosandlow, formado por Daniel Rodríguez de Alma Soul Music, junto a Alex Sosa, así como Jamie Jones, Henry Sainz y Le Fleur. El apartado de Rock&Roll lo completa Shinova con su quinto álbum “Cartas de Navegación”. Además de Sidecars y Antílopez.

ATAPUERCA

a Representación Histórica de la Batalla de Atapuerca recuerda el enfrentamiento ocurrido el 1 de Septiembre del año 1054 entre los reyes y hermanos Fernando I rey de León y conde de Castilla y García III rey de Pamplona. El desenlace de la Batalla de Atapuerca, con la muerte del rey navarro, constituyó los cimientos para el nacimiento del reino de Castilla. La distribución del reino de Navarra, impuesta por Sancho III el mayor entre sus hijos, fue causa de continuos altercados, al primogénito García le correspondió el reino de Pamplona, el entonces condado de Castilla le correspondió a Fernando, a Ramiro, Aragón y a Gonzalo, Sobrarbe y Ribagorza. La Batalla de Tamarón (1037) puede considerarse un precedente, pues Fernando contó con la ayuda de su hermano García para derrotar a su cuñado Vermudo III, bajo la promesa de entregarle unos territorios castellanos entre los que se encontraba Atapuerca, que se convirtió desde entonces en frontera entre los dos reinos.

The Historical Representation of the Battle of Atapuerca evokes the confrontation that took place on 1 September 1054 between the kings and brothers Fernando I, King of Leon and Count of Castile, and Garcia Sanchez III, King of Pamplona. The outcome of the Battle of Atapuerca, with the death of the Navarrese king, laid the foundation for the origin of the Kingdom of Castile. The distribution of the kingdom of Navarre, imposed by Sancho III the elder among his sons, was the cause of continuous altercations; the first-born Garcia was responsible for the kingdom of Pamplona, Fernando was responsible for the then county of Castile, Ramiro for Aragon and Gonzalo, for Sobrarbe and Ribagorza. The Battle of Tamarón (1037) can be considered a landmark, since Fernando had the help of his brother García to defeat his brother-in-law Vermudo III, under the promise that he would be given some Castilian territories, including Atapuerca, which from that moment became the border between the two kingdoms.
