THE PROJECT CALLS FOR THE DESIGN OF A COMMERCIAL RETAIL SPACE FOR KATE SPADE NEW YORK. THE SPACE WILL BE REDESIGNED NOT ONLY IN TERMS OF MEETING THE CLIENT’S NEED AND THE FACILITY INTERIORS RETAIL PROGRAM, IT WILL ALSO PROVIDE THE OPPORTUNITY TO REDESIGN THE ENTIRE OUTWARD APPEARANCE. THE CONTEXT OF THE PROJECT ENGAGES THE DESIGNER TO ADDRESS THE RETAIL SPACE AT ITS STREET SCAPE CORNER CONDITION. THE DESIGN SEEKS TO INSPIRE AND TO CELEBRATE THE UNIQUE BRANDING OF KATE SPADE PRODUCTS THROUGH COMPREHENSIVE LIFESTYLE IMAGE. BORROWING A QUOTE FROM KATE SPADE INC., “WE INSPIRE OUR CUSTOMERS TO LIVE A MORE INTERESTING LIFE”, THE DESIGN CALLS FOR CREATING SPACES THAT ARE FILLED WITH LIVELY COLORS AND SLEEK SHAPES.

THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROJECT IS TO ADDRESS THE KEY ISSUES OF THE CURRENT CLAIRE’S BY RE-FOCUSING THE TARGET MARKET, IMPROVING CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND UPDATING THE CLUTTERED, STEREOTYPICALLY GIRLY ENVIRONMENT OF THEIR CURRENT STORES. THE STORE WILL BE REDESIGN IN TERMS OF: CHECK-OUT AREA, PIERCING STATION, AND SOCIAL MEDIA SCREEN. CLAIRE’S WILL ONCE AGAIN BE THE “IT” PLACE FOR TWEENS TO SHOP. “JOIN THE SISTERHOOD” CAMPAIGN WILL BE ABOUT BRINGING GIRLS TOGETHER WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY BRINGING THEM BACK TO THE BRAND. TO KICK OFF THIS CAMPAIGN, A BUS WILL BE TRAVELING AROUND THE U.S. STOPPING AT KEY LOCATIONS TO PROVIDE BACK TO SCHOOL STYLE ADVICE.

THE PROGRAM REQUIRES THE DEVELOPMENT OF A COMFORTABLE AND APPROPRIATE INTERIOR ENVIRONMENT THAT HOLDS UP TO 30 TENANTS AND MORE IMPORTANTLY WELCOMES DIFFERENT WORKING PEOPLE AND SMALL BUSINESSES INTO A SPACE WHERE THEY CAN EXPAND AND STRENGTHEN THEIR WORK AND CREATIVITY.
