There

is something to be said for perseverance and those people who can continue to navigate through the overwhelming challenges that life continues to throw their way. We all see it every day, and it has been highlighted even more drastically over the past few months. I see it in the way people have come together for those who are sick, with many of the people on my Facebook feed serving in the medical fIeld and putting their safety at risk to help those in need. I see it in the struggle many of my black friends and community members face in having their voices heard and their lives viewed as equal. Yet despite all this, when it seems the world is stacked against them, so many people continue to move forward and keep their heads held high. It is a trait I admire, and I give the utmost respect for those that persevere and turn their struggles into triumph. Perseverance lets people know that we are not going anywhere, and even with throwing every obstacle in our way, we will still rise and persist in FInding greatness.

I am more excited than ever to showcase this issue of Gallant. Now more than ever I think we need artistic beauty to spotlight in a world that seems nothing short of crazy. We have new talent joining the team this issue, with Lulu Jameson gracing our pages with his incredible talent. Home & Garden enthusiasts will delight in our feature of moss&mink, with Cielo Capalini’s creations a staple in many inventories for interior design. Moreover, many any of our talented stylists and photographers have returned to remind us why Gallant Magazine is a visual masterpiece dedicated to featuring the best in Men’s Fashion and Home & Garden. I would like to take a moment to thank them for their dedication and commitment to such gorgeous work. This issue gives us one last hoorah at the joys of Summer before heading into the vibrant, rich colors of Fall. I am truly proud of our creative team, and Grant Valeska continues to deliver the “wow” factor with his stunning layouts and creativity. If you are looking for inspiration to dress and decorate in your virtual world, you have come to the right place. I hope this issue provides you a brief respite from the day-to-day hustle of everyday life. Hang in there, and we will continue to persevere together. Cheers!

ow, did things ever change since the last issue and yet some things stayed exactly the same! The world is still in the middle of a wild pandemic, America is getting ready to elect (hopefully) a new President, and social injustice is at an all-time high. With the Black Lives Matter movement fInally gaining traction (long overdue traction in my personal opinion), we’ve seen the worst in some people but we’ve also seen the best in many more. Realizing my privilege and not only altering my actions but bringing awareness to the treatment of our black equals has become a daily ritual that I encourage each of our readers to be part of. This issue feels like a retrospect as we release a collection of images inspired by the past two months and the month we are currently arriving to. Though Covid has stopped a lot of summer plans, I am reminded of what will come again. Nothing can last forever but these images are a reminder of what was and will be. The amazingly talented Gallant creatives continue to amaze me each issue with their level of talent and vision for creating editorial images. This issue is small but impactful, one of our strongest issues to date thanks to the creative individuals FIlling its pages. I had the privilege of photographing our featured designer, Cielo Capalini of Moss&Mink, for her spotlight image and she was one of my easiest photoshoots to date. Not only is she incredibly talented at creating gorgeous home décor, she was an excellent model! Her interview, written by the talented Taylor Wassep, is worth the five minute quick read. Special thanks to Divos Titanium who continuously trusts me to execute his vision from my own point of view, each issue is a new experience and there is always a new challenge. ach person has their own reasons for joining Second Life™. Many use it as an escape, or to fInd an alternative to games where the user-based died out. That is where Cielo Capalini, owner of moss&mink, comes into play. With its user-based, content-driven economy, Second Life™ was just what she was looking for. An alternative to playing The Sims™ Online, Cielo discov-ered the nightlife aspect of Second Life™. Spending so many nights dancing away at popular nightclubs back in the day, Cielo confessed to hosting at a couple of clubs and eventually persuaded her real-life sister to join. As time went on, Cielo witnessed so many talented people creating things straight from their imagination. Seeing what was possible, Cielo took her chances and started this never-ending story of becoming a content creator on the grid. Starting out like many people do in the early days, Cielo began by using templated clothing. Cielo found so much joy in mixing and matching different template pieces together. She loved to create textures and invisible sections so that the outcome was totally changed from what she started with. This creative inspiration fueled her next evolution on content creating – meshing. In the beginning, Cielo found herself struggling to grasp the concept of meshing in three dimensions. She would watch as many videos as she could fInd. Cielo fInallyjust gave up on meshing her own items and decided to look for someone who could. Eventually, she found someone to create an item for her. At this point, Cielo talked about shifting focus and looking at producing furniture items. She started with just a little ottoman cushion with inset buttons and a trim. Nothing like that had existed yet in Second Life™. Around this time Cielo had gone back to school, requiring her to take a break from Second Life™. While attending school she was venturing into a new possible career in Electrical Engineering. At the same time, her partner and her discovered that she was pregnant, and her studies had to take a backseat for the time being. During this time, Cielo again thought about creating for Second Life™. It was kind of the perfect intersection for many things she loved.

This led to an almost destined meeting between Cielo and Cyclic Gearz. “I’m so grateful that out of all the people I could have messaged, that it was her that I did,” Cielo said. Having secured someone to create mesh pieces for Cielo, she was on her way to having actual products. Cyclic offered to share her screen with Cielo and teach her how to mesh. HavIng failed on her own with YouTube™ and other internet videos, Cielo was a little hesitant to take Cyclic up on this offer. In the end, Cielo risked it and tried her hand once again at meshing. This time, with the help of a trusted friend and advisor, Cyclic Gearz, she found more success. She talked about times when she would need instructions repeated to understand them more. Having the ability to ask exact questions to someone in real time made everything click for her more. After being able to understand mesh, Cielo was set to begin her new chapter with a store all her own. Moss&mink opened its doors around autumn of 2016, just before Halloween. It all started out as a little store on the mainland with just three items: a drawer, rose plant and ruffLed curtains - all with her signature color pallet of golds and pinks. During our interview, she really wanted to drive home how important Cyclic Gears was to her development and eventual creation of moss&mink. A single word was used to describe that interaction between Cielo and Cyclic, kis-met. Additionally, without the advice and direction of Toxic Rhiannyr helping her with branding early on, moss&mink might not be what it is today. With regards to her store name, Cielo spoke about where the name and stylization of moss&mink came from. Turns out, she polled her real-life friends and family with about 15 different potential names. Cielo wanted to have this juxtaposition of nature and simple (moss) and classy and feminine (mink). For the stylization, the idea of moss&mink is to be on the cuter side. So, keeping the entire name lowercased adds that layer of adorable aesthetics. Cielo was then invited to join the Arcade for one of their cycles. It just so happened that her due date was right in the middle of the Arcade setup dates. Now, Cielo claims that any sane person would have said no, but she said yes and made sure to have her set ready many

weeks in advance - just to cover all her bases. Everything turned out amazing: she was able to successfully showcase in Arcade and deliver a precious gift - one of her amazing children. The love of bringing a new life into the world and being able to share creations with so many people in a virtual world was an amazing feeling. A lot of the time management and successful execution of that fIrst Arcade cycle was partly thanks to her amazing team. First to join Cielo was Gracie, her Customer Service Representative and then Justine as the Blogger Manager - both of whom have been with Cielo and moss&mink for well over two and half years. Jessa was the newest addition being the social media guru herself. She has been able to help Cielo keep a pulse on what is trending and current in Second Life™. Cielo also wanted to give a special shout out to her creative blogger team. “They are so endlessly creative and the photos they create just blow me away,” Cielo said. Cielo’s team really helps her in so many ways. One way was the creation of the Uni-HUD. Now, for those who may be unfamiliar with this product, the Uni-HUD conception came when Cielo was setting up items in her store. Like many of us with decor, they can sometimes come with HUDs to change up the textures. Cielo thought, “OMG, this is so tedious I just want everything to match.” This led to the idea of creating a universal HUD that would allow users to use one HUD to change various moss&mink products so that everything matches. You no longer need to cloud your window with several HUDs just to color match everything. With a couple of simple steps, like dragging and dropping and “listening up”, you too could have the ease of changing your moss&mink products in one simple step. If you would like more information regarding this Uni-HUD system, please check out Cielo’s website at www.mossnmink.com. That is just one example of what Cielo might be working on day-to-day. Even with all that work, she still has to fInd time to create lasting memories with her family and have a real life. Before the quarantine happened for most of the world, Cielo would have the chance to be there to see her girls off to school, cook them a delicious breakfast and even have time to enjoy her favorite tea while checking emails - all done from the comfort of her home. Now, with this new normal we are all living in, working with youngsters around can be a little different.

With her girls home, Cielo easily adjusted to entertaining and educating her daughters while still working on multiple projects at once. That is, when she is not succumbing to fatigue and taking a nap alongside her girls. If this is your fIrst time being introduced to Cielo Capalini, you have to understand just how pure of a soul she is. She unabashedly shows so much love and appreciation for those she works with, the customers she creates for, and the bloggers who share her work. To the incomparable love she has for her family, it is clear that Cielo is just a joy to be around. And not to mention, a creative designer. Who knows, maybe one day she will even be able to create furniture and home decor in her real life.
