Society is increasingly aware of the matters relating integration and barrier-free access to public spaces. Being independent provides freedom to individuals, showing that everyone is necessary, have something to contribute and that, at the end, diversity enriches all of us. Likewise, children should learn to care for themselves in surroundings with other newly-met children outside of their familiar surroundings. Aware of all this, Galopín has always worked on the creation of play elements designed for all children to feel comfortable and have fun together, always complying with the necessary standards, as well as with the “7 principles of universal design” that Galopín’s Foundation, As Salgueiras, has stablished; integration, independence, security, equality, socialisation, health and barriers’ overcoming.
In this line, Al Hoor play space constitutes another creation of Galopín focused on building a integrational playground that welcomes all children enjoying together, goal that has been pursued with each and every element included, from the space design as a whole, to the play items themselves.

CHILDREN’S PLAY SPACE Our goal was to create an area where all children, even those with functional diversity, could play, interact and learn from each other, avoiding any type of prejudices or exclusions in the so important early stages of growth. For this, GalopĂn has generally opted for low-height open elements, accessible for all children in height, that can also be surrounded, wide passages and multiple gripping accessories; and, in particular, has also included specific adapted items, to comply with particular levels of functional diversity.
For older children’s area, the company has taken advantage of all the elements in hand to make the playground integrative, including the space, the floor and all the play elements themselves.
With a metal skeleton, this area stands out for its elegance, transparency and sturdiness. Among its several playing functionalities and original hidden circuits, it welcomes up to 70 children to play together.
