PASS STUDENTS AND FAMILIES Enjoy Christmas Activities The Wilcox County PASS program students and families celebrated Christmas on Monday, December 15 at WCES. The students at both Elementary and Middle/High made various ornaments and gifts to take home for their families. Some made beautiful Sun Catchers while others decorated Gingerbread Men. Regular attendance is a critical element to the success of the PASS program. Students with perfect attendance for the month of November were rewarded with a Christmas movie and extra play time. Each student received a small prize for their efforts and Tiffany Poke from WCHS won a gift card. At 3:00 PASS parents joined the fun, participating in a “Make and Take” family engagement event in the WCES media center. Sara Sercer, UGA extension agent led the group in making snowmen from milk jugs and Christmas lights. This creative project would be inexpensive and fun decoration to make at home with their children. The session ended with the awarding of door prizes. At 4:00 students joined their parents in the WCES gym for a musical Christmas performance. Susan Cravey welcomed the families and expressed appreciation for the great turnout. Project Director Ginny Clack gave PASS updates and thanked the staff for a great 1st semester. Susan then introduced each grade as they performed Christmas carols for the audience. Anthony Studstill performed a beautiful rendition of Handel's Halleluiah Chorus on the piano and then accompanied the group as they sang Away in a Manger. The fun continued in the lunchroom where refreshments were served. Thanks to Peggy Harris and Wendy Bohannon, everyone enjoyed hot chocolate, cookies and other treats.
