Pineview Home and Garden Club The Pineview Home and Garden Club met Tuesday, March 8, at the Pineview Community Center with eight members present. The program was about “Tips on Gardening” by Kate Saxton. A work day was planned for fertilizing and putting down pine straw. Delicious refreshments were served by the Hostesses. THANK YOU We would like to thank each and everyone for your warm kindness, love and prayers during the loss of our mother, Normie Sapp. The family is so grateful and thankful for the memorials, flowers, visits, food, cards, calls and text we received. We are very blessed to have such good friends to remember us. We thank the First Baptist Church of Abbeville for all their thoughts and prayers. A special thank you to the Abbeville Healthcare and Rehab for the wonderful care and kindness each and everyone gave to mama for three years. The were all so very good to her. ROCHELLE DENTAL CLINIC VISITS PASS Middle School On Thursday, February 18, Dental Hygienists Amber McDuffie and Sabrina Thompson presented a program on the importance of good dental health to the Middle School PASS students. They explained the process of tooth decay and illustrated the amount of sugar in everyday products from bottled water to soft drinks. Prior to their visit Amber & Sabrina stained a number of eggs with ingredients such as Mountain Dew, cola, etc. They demonstrated how difficult it is to remove the stains by cleaning the eggs with a toothbrush and toothpaste. The experiment showed how easy it is for your teeth to become stained and how hard it is to clean them. Students were informed of the connection between using tobacco products and oral cancer. They were reminded that smokeless tobacco used by many teenagers has proven extremely harmful and contains deadly carcinogens. Dr. Frazier uses a special light to inspect the mouth and tongue for abnormal spots when performing routine dental exams. The students were very interested in learning how to keep their teeth clean and in good health. A big thanks to Dr. Frazier and staff for the informative presentation and the toothbrush kits provided for each student.
