Congratulations WCES RESA Winners Wilcox County Elementary would like to recognize our HGRESA Math and Writing Teams for their outstanding achievement. The HGRESA is composed of 10 school districts which contain 15 elementary schools. The competition targeted students in grades 3-5 from all schools within the HGRESA area. Approximately 30 students participated in the writing competition, and 75 students participated in the math competition. The HGRESA Writing Competition was held on February 5th, and the HGRESA Math Competition was held on February 6th. The final results were issued on Wednesday, April 2nd and are as follows: Individual Awards Tanner Collier 3rd Grade Boys Writing 5th Place, Jo Brady 4th Grade Girls Writing 3rd Place, Trevor Collier 4th Grade Boys Writing 5th Place, Branson Owens 5th Grade Boys Writing 1st Place, Kristi Childers 5th Grade Girls Writing 2nd Place, Tanner Collier 3rd Grade Math Team highest percentage correct in school, highest scoring team member, and 5th place individual, Camden Atkins 4th Grade Math Team highest percentage correct, highest scoring team member, and 1st place individual, and Branson Owens 5th Grade Math Team highest percentage correct in school, highest scoring team member, and 3rd place individual. Team Awards (Math Only) 4th Grade Math Team (Noah Gibbs, Karsen Bruce, Jackson Chastain, Camden Adkins, and Trevor Collier) 2nd Place and 5th Grade Math Team (Branson Owens, Will Sutton, Kristi Childers, Madison Terry, and Cameron Coleman) 3rd Place. We are very proud of all of the students that participated and their teachers that worked so hard to prepare them to compete. WCES Writing Team and Math Team will be treated to lunch at Chick-Fill-A for their hard work and accomplishments.
