Chief John Hendley Attends The Georgia Association Of Chiefs of Police 2014 Annual Summer Training Conference As part of his continuing education and training in the administration of law enforcement, Chief John Hendley, of the Abbeville Police Department, recently attended the 2014 Annual Training conference sponsored by the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police. Heads of law enforcement agencies from throughout the state participated in the four-day conference. The Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police is responsible for the delivery of training to the chief of Georgia’s police departments and law enforcement agencies. The Summer Training Conference was held at the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center from July 26th through July 30th. This year’s conference covered a variety of topics such as: “Analyzing the Administrative Implications Associated with Prone Restrain, Excited Delirium & sudden Deaths In-Custody”, and Policing in a New Economic Environment”, “Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training Update”, “Life After Public Safety”, “Below 100 Program - A Mother’s Perspective”, “Deconfliction” A Must Have for Safety & Effectiveness”, “2014 Legislative & Case Law Updates”, “Managing Post Traumative Stress Disorders in Your Agency”, and “Walking the Narrow Road to Leadership”. Chief John Hendley was among more than 548 heads of law enforcement agencies attending the 47th Annual Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police Summer Training Conference. Chief David Lyons of the Garden City Police Department, President of the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police, stated that “this annual conference provides police chiefs with the opportunity to learn from highly qualified and experienced instructors who are experts in the field of law enforcement management.
