Anne E. Williams went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 8, 2024. She was 78 years old.

Anne was born in Newport News, VA on April 23, 1946 to the late Raymond Carter Sr. and Irene Elizabeth Jones-Carter. Anne was educated in the Newport News Public School System and attended Carver High School. After working at Newport News Convalescent Center for many years Anne became a Homemaker, raising her grandkids.

Anne was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church, where she served on the Gleaner Board. Anne was a very friendly and nice lady who got along with everyone she came in contact with and those she fellowshipped with. Anne was best known for her cake making during the holiday gatherings and for birthdays. She was devoted to her kids and family and mindful of their welfare.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Williams is preceded in death by her late DEVOTED husband Alvin F. Williams Sr. and daughter Lisa D. Ruffin, and sisters: Flora Mae McAlpin, Brenda Louise Compere, Lillian Marie Carter, Linda Joyce Dean, Dorothy Cornelius Carter-Davis, brothers: James Lee Jones, John Henry Carter, Raymond Carter, Jr,. Alfred Darnell Carter, Calvin Mitchell Carter, Robert Earl Carter.

Mrs Williams leaves to cherish three daughters: Johanna L. Hill, Christine D. Williams, Valerie A. Jones, and a son Alvin F. Williams Jr. all of Newport News VA, nine grandchildren: Jarren (Shavon), Jamal (Samori), Jamel, Jocquan, Derrick, Jasmine (Jesse), MeShaun, Ja’Mon, and Jaden; seven great grandchildren; Justice, Jaheim, Jacob, Jeremiah, Reagan, Winston, and Julie, two sisters: Frances Yvonne Pryear and Gwendolyn Lucille Brodus, a sister-in-law: Donnajean Jones, and two brother-in-law: Ronald Williams and Bernard Williams, and a host of nieces, nephews, and bonus family.
