0.1 Basquait x Tate Brand identity campaign
Basquait x Tate is an art exhibition hosted by the Tate London
with a special exhibition of the great modern neo-expressionist, Jean-Michael Basquait.
The target was to produce three pieces of advertisments which features a social media post, a print advertisement and digital advertising in the heart of London. These three pieces are
accompanied by promotional products which includes a t-shirt, tote bag, and a three piece decorative skateboard.
The inspiration behind this project was too reflect an invasion by Basquait in London. This is heavily shown in the logo with Basquaits trade mark glyphs over lapping the Tate logo.
02. Pacific Surf Open Commemorative event emblem and products
This assignment was to create an emblem and promotional products for a commemorative event. The event chosen is the amateur surfing competition in Huntington C.A. called the “Pacific Surf Open”.
The emblem is an illustrated design heavily inspired by the famous
surfing move “hang 10”. The popular illustration style has become a
movement within the surf community and accompanied by the deep blue color and the white really moulds the California surf aesthetic.
The promotional items include a three piece poster, event magazine,
and lanyards used for athletes competing. The products consists of
A t-shirt, stickers, and a towel.
03. Hot Diggity Dog Food truck design and logo Hot Diggity Dog is an American food truck serving all of the typical American comfort foods; burgers, hot dogs, fries and milkshakes.
The company needed a re-brand which included a new logo, brand colors, and truck design to attract new clientele.
Taking inspiration from vintage mascot logos came the emblem of a dog eating a hot dog, with the look of elation. This is fun, vintage
vibe gives Hot Diggity Dog the identity they were after. The food truck is a vintage Cittroen and to keep the vintage aesthetic there is a
subtle design across the Cittroen alongside the companies logo and available foods and prices which is the important part for the food truck.

0.4 Fistral boards Social Media Management
Fistral boards is a surfboard shaping company in the heart of the U.K. surf scene, Fistral bay. With the popularity of surfing on the
rise in the U.K. the company needed a new logo which symbolizes there position in the U.K. surf scene as well as attracting a new audience.
The social media side of the business was lacking and so
needed an initiative to reinvigorate the brands presence online. Que “Myboard”. This initiative gave the public/customers/
fans a chance to design a surf board completely from scratch alongside the owner of the shop.
To drive this initiate I used the social media site Instagram to
advertise this campaign. The campaign featured interactive
stories, sign up links, and regular posts of customers and their new boards.
05. Nike Mercurial Full Page Spread
This Nike advertisement was an assignment based upon
unorthodox print advertisement. Sometimes it’s easy to put
a half or full page ad with a tag line, logo, and web address.
This assignment pushed the norms of print ads and explore possibilities of how to make an unorthodox spread.
The idea was to create a spread inspired behind the
advertisement of the cleat. The cleat is used in soccer for fast/ explosive players and that gave me the inspiration to use a blazing fire across the page.
For the Advertizement I took the photos myself, of my brother.
He was under my direction to create an explosive action which I showcased the cleats as well as an athletic movement. I then
took the photo into Adobe Photoshop where changing the color of the cleat and adding a flaming really gave the impression of trail blazing through the page
06. Book Jacket Visual Metaphor Book jacket
The task was to design a special book jacket for a
bookstores grand opening. The book jacket had to show a visual metaphor in which symbolizes the book.
The book I chose to was Romeo and Juliet, which is a
tragic love tale between two young people who’s families are at war. Despite this they risk their lives for love.
The inspiration behind the book cover is of course the
love story the between Romeo and Juliet. In detail the hands symbolize the two young lovers reaching and
yearning for one another. But as the hands get closer
the closer to death they become, therefore turning into a skeletal hand, to symbolize their impending death.
07. Infographic Premier League Racisim
The Premier League is the biggest football league in the world
and is also one of the most diverse. With 65 nationalities from all continents represented in the league unfortunately some have been targets of racism.
This Infographic was designed to shed a light on the social
issue that is an issue within the league. Following research from
charities such as “ say no to racism” and “ kick it out” I was able to gather facts and statistics and compile them into an infographic.
I challenged myself to work within the brands guidelines in this project and so the infographic features the Premier League official logo, typeface, and colors.
08. Tabasco Magazine print ad
For this assignment I was tasked with using creative typography
to make a compelling print advertisement. For the brand I chose Tabasco hot sauce, one of the leading hot sauce companies in the world.
The inspiration behind this design was too create text within the flames given the impression when the bottle opens the fire/spice comes out and “lights up your senses”. Using Photoshop and blending techniques I was able to achieve the aesthetic of the text being apart of the flame.
09. Rumble Root Beer Soft drink design
Rumble Root Beer is a root beer company located in the
southwest of the U.S.A. The company needed a re-brand to help reach a wider audience across America.
With the theme of vintage cartoons I created an illustration of boxers, playing on the “Rumble” aspect of the name. The simple illustration is paired with a vintage rough sans font which creates an overall aesthetic of a vintage cartoon label. Keeping in mind the simplicity of the logo the rest of the can design needed to be minimalistic to create a cohesive design.
