Our Country’s Military will be on post wherever that are stationed, protecting us. Our FIRST RESPONDERS, Fire, Police, EMS, 911 and Hospital staff’s don’t get the day off. Thank you for manning your post! Take the time as you have earned it and put your tools down and go jump in that cool ride of yours or get in with a friend in theirs, and go have a whole lot of gearhead fun on the holiday weekend. The grass, yardwork, whatever is waiting to be done, will be there on Tuesday. Use the day and weekend for what it is for… CELEBRATING what you do all year long for work and a paycheck. From me to all of you who punch a time clock for a living...thank you for what you do...Happy Labor Day.

ELECTRIC POWERED STREAMLINER GOES 295MPH We reported on this effort a few issues ago. Team Vesco pulled the gas motor out and installed an electric motor to run in the E3 class at Bonneville this year. Congratulations to ReVolt Systems, AVS Fabrication. And Team Vesco for going 295 mph in just 90 days……there’s a big future for these guys !! While the record is 321, for a first time effort, 295mph is GREAT! SPEED DEMON WINS HOT ROD TROPHY For the 10th time, Speed Demon 715 has collected the Hot Rod Trophy for SpeedWeek at Bonneville, awarded to the Fastest overall speed for the Event. SEMA Issues Statement Regarding Upcoming Trade Show SEMA recently issued a statement confirming its commitment to hosting the SEMA Show later this year in Las Vegas. “At a time when COVID is back in the headlines, SEMA wants you to know that the association is 100% committed to holding the 2021 SEMA Show, Nov. 2–5, and showcasing two years of product innovations, vehicle trends and industry-leading education,” said Tom Gattuso, SEMA vice president of events. Event organizers also noted that they are still assessing safety measures and have yet to determine which will be applied during the event. Hagerty to Become Publicly Traded Company Hagerty, a specialty automotive insurance platform, and Aldel Financial Inc., a special purpose acquisition company, announced that they have entered into a definitive business combination agreement. Upon the closing of the transaction, Aldel will be renamed Hagerty, Inc., and become publicly traded, with its common stock expected to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker “HGTY.” The transaction, which has been unanimously approved by Aldel’s board of directors and the independent members of Hagerty’s board, is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2021. When you think hot rods...cool cars...trick trucks and just about any kind of a cool ride that a gearhead or hot rodder may have, you probably think of places like California, the Midwest, and the mid Atlantic regions right? You would be correct in this thinking.

Sometimes taking a ride into area’s of this great country that aren’t household names or locations, will provide a BIG surprise for us hot rodders and car lovers. One of those places is located in southeast Maine...YES MAINE… that state way up in the right hand corner on a map of the USA. Welcome to Bentleys Saloon located in Arundel Maine. Where their motto and way of doing business is “Who has more fun than us...WE DO!” Don’t laugh...they really do! Some would say that Bentleys is a biker 60

bar. Yes they do a lot of two wheel events al year long, but they do the Tuesday night cruise-in/ car shows and other car show events throughout the year. When they don’t have two or four wheel fun, they have live music most every night and great food too. Bentleys is a just a FUN place! It’s that easy.

We stopped in recently to check out the hot rod fun on Tuesday night and Bentleys delivered BIG TIME. We would estimate at least 200 cool rides all over the property, which is quite expansive. Every thing from hot rods, rat rods, customs, classics and a whole lot more filled up the blacktop. The cruise officially starts at 5pm but many come early to get a great parking spot. If your headed to the Northeast Region of the USA, take the short drive to Bentleys on Tuesday night for some cruise-in fun...you’ll be glad you did!
