Josie Soden is our newest Gemporia Presenter, and she’s had quite a busy few months! For our first issue of Gemology: The Shopper’s Guide, we asked Josie to sum up her time with us so far –here is what she had to say...

Wow! What a minefield of information! I have deep dived into the fascinating world of gemstones and quite frankly, I’m obsessed, and have most certainly developed a new love and appreciation for gemstones.

Ruby is my birthstone and Opal is my favourite gemstone, however the more I discover and study in this role the more Opal might have to share its pedestal.

In terms of what I’m enjoying the most, that would have to be the knowledge itself; the fact that we have a vast treasure trove of the most valuable materials on Earth is mind boggling!

that you all have a voice, and it shows a real transparency in the organisation that we do include your comments, testimonials and stories on the channel.

I’ve been studying over the last three months and meticulously analysing the formations, locations and stringent processes that gemstones go through, and I still glance over at the channel screen we have in the offices and have to pick my jaw up off the floor, having seen yet another gemstone I don’t recognise.

…the fact that we have a vast treasure trove of the most valuable materials on Earth is mind boggling !
