HELLO & WELCOME

GEODIS SCORES FOR EURO 2016

Jamie Cuthbert Managing Director

Welcome to the summer edition of Focus, our customer newsletter. Many of you were contacted recently regarding our 2016 Global Customer Survey. We use this annual survey to gather feedback from all our customers around the world to find out how we are performing and what we can do to improve our service to you. We want to be your logistics partner of choice for the future so all the feedback is vital to our future partnership together. If you did complete the survey, may I thank you for your time. In this issue, you can see how we have developed our business proposition for three different clients – Trespass, Phidal and ghd. They are very different types of customers but have moved their business to GEODIS for very specific reasons; the ability to offer a one-stop shop solution, end to end supply chain logistics across the GEODIS group and our online portal. If you would like to discuss any of the articles featured, or any other topic in more detail please get in touch with me. Contact me on 07977 123 977 or email me jamie.cuthbert@geodis.com Best Regards Jamie Cuthbert Managing Director

Phidal Publishing begins new chapter with GEODIS

Taking the heat out of deliveries for ghd

PARTNERS FOR GROWTH

PHIDAL PUBLISHING BEGINS NEW CHAPTER WITH GEODIS Canadian children’s book publisher, Phidal Publishing Inc., has started working with GEODIS for the distribution of their products throughout the territory of the UK and Ireland.

Phidal’s collection of books feature well-known licenses such as Disney, Marvel and more and are designed to engage children’s imagination while they read. GEODIS in High Wycombe is responsible for storage, distribution and fulfilment of retail orders for numerous companies in the UK and Ireland. Phidal Publishing’s Financial Vice President, Mr. Freddy Benvenuto stated that, “Working with the GEODIS team has simplified our distribution process from manufacturer to our end customer. “The team handles all aspects of the logistics chain, from the import of goods to the fulfilment and distribution to stores, providing us with a reliable and transparent solution.” For more information on the full range of services available contact the sales team on 01494 446 541 or email enquiries.uk@geodis.com

SETTING UP SHOP WITH full range of solutions rather than relying on many different companies for variety of services.

For over 75 years Trespass has been supplying outdoor clothing to the European market. In more recent years the company has opened an average 25 new stores per year and now has more than 150 shops across the Continent. Trespass’ clothing range has been growing steadily in popularity and over the past two years it has needed to open more stores to meet customer demand. It needed a logistics supplier that could grow hand in hand with its business, offering a

As a result, Trespass moved its business to GEODIS and was able to uncover cost efficiencies as well as a one-stop-shop solution to meet its needs storage and distribution, stock management and fulfilment. Initially in 2014, GEODIS managed the logistics supply to the launch of new stores across Europe, delivering shop fittings to plan and following up with stock deliveries once each store was fully fitted out. Since then, GEODIS has been handling stock replenishment orders for European stores and the storage and distribution of the UK line of

TAKING THE HEAT OUT OF DISTRIBUTION Used by over two million people globally, ghd has been the leading name in hair styling products for nearly 15 years. In recent years the company has shifted its strategy to appeal to a more exclusive market and its products are now only available from high-end retailers such as Selfridges and John Lewis. GEODIS provides a wide range of logistics solutions to ghd in Germany which includes storage, pick and pack and distribution. Additionally, GEODIS has recently won the distribution contract for ghd’s UK business. GEODIS’ customer tracking portal, 24-7, played a vital part in ghd’s decision. The web portal offers full access and interface between customers and GEODIS. So, ghd can book collections and deliveries for time slots that suit customers’ demands - whether that’s a large distribution centre or a city centre salon. Additionally, its full track and trace facility is highly beneficial with real-time, GPS stamped status updates available for all consignments, even those delivered using ghd’s own paperwork.

Nathan Williams, UK Logistics Coordinator for ghd, said, “The services offered by GEODIS give us an excellent level of control and visibility on all our deliveries, essential for our high value goods. “The partnership works well as GEODIS has taken time to understand our business needs and responded with flexible solutions that work at every stage of the logistics chain.” GEODIS also handles the stock movement function at ghd’s distribution site in Nottingham, running full load trailers to and from its storage facility in Leicester several times a week. GEODIS GROUP NEWS

A DECADE OF PARTNERSHIP WITH GEODIS is celebrating a decade of partnership with CargoLine, a German and European logistics network headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany.

Some of our bi-lateral relationships with German CargoLiners go back to the early 90s and we are proud of having maintained these relationships for a quarter of a century.

June 2016 marks the 10th anniversary since GEODIS first began trunking into CargoLine’s hub in Eichenzell, Germany. The daily, overnight transit provides a speedy and reliable service to and from Germany and via the hub to a number of Eastern European countries in tandem with the GEODIS direct services to France, Benelux and Southern Europe.

“Our customers are kept a step ahead by the hitech systems we have built together. NEW FLEET REDUCES ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

ENHANCED PARTNERSHIP WITH GE

Eighty-five per cent of the current GEODIS fleet is compliant with Euro 5 or 6 and the company has plans to invest in further low emission vehicles.

As part of an annual global air freight review to select its approved service providers, GE has awarded GEODIS a new two year contract worth €11 million per annum. Overall, GEODIS will ship more than 7,000 metric tons of air freight every year.

Additionally, 2% of GEODIS’ fleet is made up of Environmentally Enhanced Vehicles (EEV), i.e. “clean” vehicles such as electric or natural gas vehicles. GEODIS systematically trains its drivers on eco-driving and uses equipment that reduces fuel consumption, such as speed limiters, low consumption tyres,

electronically controlled gearboxes, side and roof deflectors, and side fairings. The modernisation of the fleet also involves the installation of the Geodriver, Copilote and Eliot onboard IT tools that help to improve route planning and optimise fuel consumption. A partner of GE since 2011 for air, sea and road freight shipments worldwide, GEODIS is strengthening the relationship by taking care of new air freight shipments in regions that are strategic to its segments: Oil & Gas, Healthcare, Power and Lighting. GEODIS executes all air freight shipments between China and the USA for GE’s Oil & Gas division. These new shipments enable GEODIS to increase its activities on this lane, optimising operations for the benefit of all its clients. GEODIS will also be the preferred service provider for all GE Healthcare shipments from Sweden to Asia and Latin America. These requirements are highly specific and demanding in terms of transit times and temperature control.
