Homecoming
Homecoming weekend was a flurry of activity this year on the GC campus. Our community gathered to celebrate the historic inauguration of President Rosemary Allen, Songfest performances packed Hill Chapel with a standing-room-only crowd, and fall delivered perfect football weather. Georgetown also hosted a Diversity Brunch with alumni from the 1980s and the annual Distinguished Alumni Awards.
Songfest was back this year with a Y2K theme for songs and skits set in the 2000s. The award for Most Georgetown Spirit went to Sigma Kappa, while Most Musical went to President’s House Association. In addition, Phi Kappa Tau took home the prize for the Most Comedic, and Tiger Pride Entertainment won for Best Choreography. Third Place Overall went to Phi Kappa Tau, Second Place to Sigma Kappa, and Kappa Delta was voted the Overall Winner and Most Original. The football game was a battle of two undefeated teams, GC versus Bethel. Although GC was not victorious in the game, we had a huge crowd with special tailgates, supportive alumni, and plenty of cheering fans. At halftime of the game, President Allen crowned Berk Watts and Abby Rich the Homecoming King and Queen. Thanks to everyone who WENT BIG and CAME HOME to Homecoming 2022!
