“We have a wonderful chance to make a difference, but we can only do this if we work together. And this is a chance for us to keep defining ourselves and growing ourselves, even as we make a positive difference in the world.”
Paul Almeida Dean and William R. Berkley Chair Professor of Strategy
When you earn a Georgetown MBA, you mix academic studies with real-world experiences — in D.C. and around the world — that prepare you to address the world's most complex issues.
Our curriculum is globally focused. Through signature courses like our Global Business Experience consulting project and Structure of Global Industries course, as well as international student-led career treks, we help you make the right connections with global executives in business, government, and nonprofit organizations. With more than 40 countries represented by our incoming MBA classes, you will join an international community.
Our location in Washington, D.C.—at the intersection of business, policy, and international affairs—provides incredible access to the movers and shakers of the world. Whether we’re making an introduction in the halls of the World Bank or on Capitol Hill, attending Georgetown opens up doors across the globe.
Established in 1789, Georgetown University is the oldest Catholic and Jesuit institution in the United States. The Jesuit concept of cura personalis, or “care for the whole person,” is integrated throughout the MBA program. While we’re competitive, our community also is collaborative. Since we care about both shareholders and society, we provide an ethical framework that applies in any workplace.
McDonough’s university-wide community includes top schools in numerous other fields, such as foreign service, public policy, law, medicine, and government. The best solutions to many of the world's most important challenges are found at the intersection of disciplines. By offering electives throughout the university, our school puts you in a unique position to address these issues.
The Global Business Experience pairs groups of students with executives from different organizations, from startups to multinational corporations to Fortune 500 companies, to address complex business challenges. The experience starts on campus, where you spend six to eight weeks as a consultant, applying strategic and analytical theories to develop solutions as you work remotely with your clients. The course and consulting engagement also includes a week-long, incountry residency, where students perform research, present findings, and receive feedback from executives. Many clients tell us they implement our students’ recommendations.
