The Georgetown Difference
Located at the intersection of business, government, and international relations, Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business develops ethical leaders committed to the common good. We offer a reputation for academic excellence embodied by global projects, distinctive courses, and activities that leverage the rich fabric of Washington, D.C.
D.C. Advantage
Our new location on Georgetown’s Capitol Campus, just blocks from the U.S. Capitol, in Washington, D.C., provides you with access to global thought leaders, dynamic new spaces, and partnerships that are only possible at Georgetown.
Global-Ready Business
We prepare students to be global-ready leaders through the focus of our curriculum. All students complete a real-world global consulting project as a capstone to their MiM experience. Students in the MiM program gain a global perspective when learning in a diverse cohort with over 40 countries of citizenship represented.
Values-Based Approach
Georgetown was established on the Jesuit principles of equality, respect, and cura personalis — care for the whole person — and those same values define the school today. Our culture encourages students to collaborate, extend learning outside the classroom, and lead with impact after graduation.
Blending Technology and Innovation with a Business Foundation
Our accelerated, 10-month program provides a foundational business curriculum with a focus on the application and implication of technology and innovation.
You will learn business essentials like global financial markets, supply chain operations, marketing, and statistics along with concepts such as design thinking and emotionally intelligent leadership. Courses combine theory and practice — you will work on consulting projects, interact with business leaders on site visits, and absorb lessons from innovative global companies to understand the impact of today’s constantly changing technology. Furthermore, you will gain hands-on experience with Tableau, SQL, and the programming language R, focusing on data visualization and business analytics.
In addition, the curriculum features a signature global business consulting experience focused on innovation that includes traveling abroad for one week. Working in small teams, students partner with executives from multinational organizations to address complex business challenges.
The MiM program provides students with skills that make them attractive, well-rounded professional candidates. I came in with limited experience in quantitative fields, but left feeling comfortable in these subject areas. I also enhanced my soft skills through countless experiential learning exercises. MiM enabled me to feel comfortable walking into any business setting with confidence.”
