Steel billets induction heating In the manufacturing of series forging products, which need a higher quality, the induction heating is used more frequently. It permits a fast, constant, controlled and efficient heating. The users of the induction heating know the advantages in comparison to the traditional heating in a gas furnace:

No pre-heating is required. Energy is saved, no combustion gases. Increased production and easier automation. Strong reduction of the scale formation, what results in an enhanced product quality, reduction of material losses up to 3%, increased die life up to double the time.

GH has supplied hundreds of induction forging installations and has developed processes for a broad range of forge applications. The configuration shown in the picture includes an induction heater GH, equipped with an entrance pusher, two inductors for a fast change, and a 800 KW generator working between 1000 and 2500 Hz. The steel billets are square or round with a diameter between 45 and 90 mm. The equipments heats 2000 Kg/h to 1200º C.
