PENSIONER ALBERT Fereday has called on Prime Minister David Cameron to restore the winter fuel allowance to all pensioners living in Europe. He described the controversial decision to axe the cold weather payment to people living in Spain as “illegal” and said it was unfair to discriminate against people who had paid taxes all their lives. In his letter, the 87-year-old wrote: “Thousands of British pensioners come here and to other places in winter and still claim the heating allowance. Do you think this is fair Mr Cameron? “And thousands of people go to live in Britain and they claim for everything and they have not paid a penny into the system – I think you and your party are afraid to tackle the problem.”
