Premursa have subsequently awarded the works contract to Ferrovial and CHM, who will shape the first European film themed mega park, a project that will have an estimated total investment of 1,000 million euros upon completion. Premursa, who have been awarded a renewable license from Paramount Pictures for 30 years, is running the overall project. The theme park will cover an area of approximately 550,000 m2, while a similar area will be reserved for the leisure and commercial ‘Lifestyle Centre’, which will feature more than half a dozen hotels and leisure establishments. The entertainment ‘Lifestyle Centre’ also involves the direct collaboration of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, as a percentage of the zone will be used to promote cultural activities. This area is intended to house six

hotels, two with four stars and four with three stars, set along, a main street with shops, bars, restaurants, casino and nightclubs as well as a business area with office complexes, convention centre and auditorium. The park, situated in Alhama de Murcia, is slated for the first two phases to be open for activities during the last quarter of 2015. Both the first and second phases of the park will be built simultaneously to allow visitors to enjoy a full range of activities once completed. In March last year, Premursa spent 10.3 million euros acquiring two farms, totalling an area of 1,031,077m2, on which to build ‘Paramount Park’ and the cultural, commercial and leisure complex, ‘Lifestyle Centre’. Plans have also been drawn up to allow the theme park itself to host two themed hotels as part of future developments. Continued on page 8
