by Jack Troughton HARLEY DAVIDSON motorcycles won 20 new dedicated fans as the Bay Radio Biker Babes discovered they were born to be wild. The ladies, recruited to raise money for youngsters cared for by the charity EMAUS, took part in an annual ‘ride out’ as around
540 machines paraded through Albir, Altea, Alfaz and Benidorm on Sunday. And each of the Biker Babes earned a pillion seat by pledging to raise a minimum of 100€ in sponsorship for the charity – by the Harley Davidson Fun Day Spectacular at Albir they had collectively raised 7,000€ and it is hoped the final total could be 10,000€.
It was a very special day for Albir teenager Roisin O’Connor at Eucalyptus Park – celebrating her 15th birthday on the day, her ride on one of the gleaming bikes was a surprise present. Roisin’s verdict was: “Awesome day, awesome bikes, awesome people. Awesome!” Lisa Fox was crowned ‘Queen Babe
2013’ after topping the fund raising chart and contributing 1,105€ to the appeal. She said: “It was an experience I will always remember and I went to sleep with a big grin on my face because I loved it so much – it was truly one of the best things that I have ever done. Continued on page 3
