THE BENIDORM Tourism Foundation has trained 745 professionals within travel agencies and tour operators in the UK to improve their knowledge and help them sell Benidorm as a top holiday destination. The year-long programme began seven months ago in collaboration with OTT. The goal is to train tourism industry professionals to sell the Benidorm tourism product to different types of customers. This specialised knowledge in turn helps to increase confidence and sales. The course features static training using contacts and calendars in an ‘e-learning’ process consisting of five thematic modules. Each agent has to register first to enable access to statistics and the database. The company is a leader in OTT eLearning services in the tourism sector, currently with more than 60,000 members participating in promotions in 120 different courses. The OTT portal offers travel agents and industry professionals free access to a wide range of eLearning courses, encouraging them to complete courses at their own pace either at work or in their own homes. And the OTT eLearning courses have high levels of member participation.
