Kevin Moreno wins Spanish Jet Ski championship LAST WEEKEND Los Alcazares hosted the final round of Spain’s Jet Ski Championship for the Copa del Rey. Cartagena pilot, Kevin Moreno, was crowned Jet Ski Champion of Spain 2014 after achieving second place in the three races on Saturday at the La Concha Beach, in Los Alcazares. On Tuesday three cruise ships arrived with five thousand guests and almost three thousand crew, giving the downtown area another great day of profits. The Adventure of the Seas, Noordam and SeaDream II disembark their guests, many of whom headed directly for downtown, to enjoy the unseasonably warm autumn weather and pack out local sidewalk cafes and shops along with museums and attractions. First to arrive was the Noordam from Holland America Line, with 1,918 passengers, followed by Royal Caribbean Cruises’ Adventure of the Seas, with 3,144 passengers. Guests from both vessels were soon ashore and getting
to know Cartagena. Later, at noon, the ultra luxury, boutique cruise ship SeaDream II from SeaDream Yacht Club docked with 118 people on board. Until six in the evening these thousands of tourists enjoyed visiting the city and its most famous landmarks, the Roman Theatre Museum, the District of the Roman Forum, the Augusteum and the renovated House of Fortune. Besides discovering a little more about the 3.000 years of the history of the city, tourists also took their time to taste the typical gastronomic delights of the area and made the best of the good weather on the terraces in the centre of Cartagena, the High Street and Town Hall Square.
