Regarding figures for the month of August, and according to the latest unemployment data in Cartagena, unemployment rose by 27 people, equivalent to 0.12%. While August is a month that’s traditionally quiet “with the closing of the summer season”, to paraphrase Ortega, “this rise is one of the lowest in the Region of Murcia, as Cartagena is a municipality of over 50,000 inhabitants, but shows in the least in the rise in unemployment!” During his meeting with the media, the Councillor for Employment also placed emphasis on three areas of positive data for the city. Thus, along with the decline of youth unemployment of 60 people over the month of July, in August they also recorded more than Diego Ortega 1,391 contracts over the same period of 2012.
