Shenanigans at Corvera by Keith Nicol CORVERA AIRPORT continues to make news for all the wrong reasons. One moment its future is uncertain while last week statements were made by the Murcia Government that not only would Corvera be open in the Spring of 2014 but that work would also commence on the Paramount Theme Park. Apparently, San Javier airport will stay open until Autumn 2014 and thus, for a number of months, Corvera and San Javier will operate in tandem. No definitive word as to how and when money owed to San Javier contractors will be paid however. And speaking of being paid, El Pais newspaper, the builder of Corvera received a surprise visit from the Guardia Civil after they,
the builder, had sent a letter to the High Court of Justice of Murcia (TSJM) that alleges their situation of “helplessness” and calls for judicial protection in the intention of the Executive ‘s Ramón Luis Valcárcel popular to “expropriate” the aerodrome. The group says the regional government is trying to seize the airfield while the regional government alleges that the builder refuses to make an inventory.
