Raffle prizes were donated by many local businesses which raised over 800€ and the total amount for the evening was 1,292€. Since February 2013, The Ladybirds have raised 7,148€ for their chosen charity, which is The Felix Mantilla Skin Cancer Foundation in Barcelona. Their fund raising will continue with their ladies lunches that are held on the first Friday of the month, with the next monthly meal at La Piazza La Fuente on Friday the 1st November, meeting at 1:30pm to eat at 2.00pm. FOREIGN TRAVELLERS staying in hotels in the Murcia region increased by 17.1 percent in September, representing the highest increase by regions in Spain. Hotels in the region recorded a two percent rise over the same period in September 2012, reaching a figure of 102,102 passengers, according to data released this week by the National Statistics Institute. In the whole of Spain, the number of Hotel stays increased by 1.3 percent over the previous year. The increase in foreign travellers to Murcia was up 17.1 percent over the previous year (up by 1.8 percent in Spain), which is the highest increase for Spanish communities for September. The average stay of hotel travellers was for 2.6 days, up 1.2 percent over 2012 for a total of 269,364 overnight stays in the Community. Hotel nights in the region grew strongly through international visitors, 34 percent (up 3 percent in Spain in total), to the point of Murcia showing the highest increase by communities for September. However, domestic tourists decreased by 4.3 percent, down 0.2 percent throughout Spain. The revenue per occupied room in hotel establishments in the region reached a value of 60.94 euros, an increase of 0.5 percent from 2012. As a result of this increase in average daily rate and occupancy rate increase in September, the revenue per available room (RevPAR) increased this month to stand at 29.16 euros, 1.94 euros, a rise of 7.2 percent, over September 2012.
